Today it's absorbing intermittent supply from grid scale solar and wind, alongside dynamic demand from EVs, heat pumps, and home batteries. The missing piece is software that can connect and orchestrate these devices at scale. Enode https://enode.com provides the infrastructure layer that makes this possible. Our Connect https://enode.com/connect API gives energy companies a single integration to 1000+ devices across 80+ brands. Our optimisation https://enode.com/optimize tooling gives energy companies the building blocks to manage those devices locally - think smart charging for EVs. Our Flex https://enode.com/flex product turns those connected devices into a flexible, controllable asset for energy companies. We work with device manufacturers across the energy hardware ecosystem - from EV brands to heat pump and solar inverter producers. Our customers are energy retailers, utilities, and traders building the next generation of energy services. We're backed by Y Combinator, Lowercarbon Capital, and Creandum. The decisions made now will shape how the energy system gets built. We're looking for people who take ownership, move fast, and care deeply about the role technology can play in the energy transition. ## AI IS FUNDAMENTAL TO HOW WE WORK AI is how a team our size keeps rewiring the way we work, fast enough to match what our mission demands. We look for people who reach for AI as a reflex and who can drop a habit that used to work. People who care about unblocking others, not just about what they ship themselves. If that's not quite how you work yet but it's the direction you're heading, we'd still like to hear from you. We assess this in our interview process, alongside everything else we look at. ## WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: We're hiring an Account Executive to close enterprise deals with energy retailers, and turn their customers EVs, heat pumps and batteries into flexible capacity the grid can actually use. Every retailer in Europe knows they need to do this. Very few have done it yet. The distance between a board approving a smart charging proposition and a customer plugging in at three in the morning because the price is low is where this role sits, and it gets closed by someone who can carry the commercial case and the technical one in the same conversation. Six months from now, this seat should mean every qualified opportunity in your markets has one person accountable for it, and the pattern of what actually wins is written down rather than held in someone's head. You'll report to Enode's VP of Revenue, who leads sales, customer success, customer engineering, marketing and partnerships. You'll join a team of account executives, working alongside customer success on the accounts you win and directly with our customer engineering managers through technical validation on every deal. You will carry a number and shape how we sell at the same time. There is more room to influence the motion here than at a company where it is already settled, and more expectation that you will use it. In this role, you will: - Own scoping, technical validation, negotiation and contracting for energy retailers and strategic accounts for your segment, and carry the number. - Become the person a Head of Product or Head of Innovation at a energy retailer calls before they have a formal project, because you understand their proposition and their market better than they expect from a vendor. - Map the full stakeholder landscape on every live deal, including the champions nobody introduces you to. Retailers buy this through a committee that spans product, IT, trading and procurement. - Build the case that makes a slow buyer move: what the alternative costs them, where a different approach falls short, why this budget cycle rather than the next one. - Scope a use case across Connect, our optimisation tooling and Flex without needing an engineer in the room, and know exactly when to pull a customer engineering manager in. - Run technical validation with your customer engineering counterpart, from the first sandbox conversation to an integration the customer trusts in production. - Turn your own wins into the materials, sequences and objection handling the rest of the team reuses, so the second deal of a given shape is faster than the first. THIS ROLE WILL BE RIGHT FOR YOU, IF: You have closed technical B2B deals with a real cycle, six months rather than six weeks, and you can name the specific things you did that moved them forward. You are more curious about how a customer's business works than about your own pitch, which is why you can hold a conversation about tariff design or device coverage without reaching for a demo. You are not put off by the fact that the playbook does not exist yet, because you would rather write it than inherit it. You do not need to have sold into energy before, but you should be able to say why you want to in terms more specific than caring about the climate. Must haves - Three or more years closing B2B deals you owned end to end, ideally technical or API led products. Comparable experience leading commercial projects with senior stakeholders also counts. - Strong understanding of the sales motion for API products. - Evidence of owning a market or segment independently, rather than working leads handed to you. - Ability to multi-thread across product, IT and procurement, including stakeholders nobody introduces you to. - Willingness to learn the domain properly: energy retail, consumer tariffs, demand-side flexibility, connected devices. - Based in Europe and able to travel for customer meetings and three off-sites a year. Nice to haves - Experience selling to energy retailers, utilities, e-mobility companies or B2B SaaS platforms. - Experience at a company where the sales motion was still being invented rather than inherited. - A second European language. ## WHAT WE OFFER: - Opportunity to join and impact an early-stage climate tech startup with global aspirations as we scale. - A mission-driven, fun and caring environment with high drive and ambition. - Competitive compensation, including a very attractive employee option program - you’re part of our journey. - Access to best in class AI tooling, we think the ceiling on what a small team can do has fundamentally shifted, and we want you to feel that. - Real investment in your AI fluency. Dedicated time to build the skill, an internal skills library you can contribute to, and the tooling budget to work properly. - Remote-first in Europe, with the option of attending an office in Oslo or receiving a co-working pass on demand. - Three annual off-sites to connect with the team in exciting & fun places. - Flexible, human-first culture. - Stipend for setting up your home office. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ## A FEW THINGS TO NOTE: - Enode is an equal opportunities employer. Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of colour are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may just be the right candidate for this or other roles. - Our values are integral to the way we work and are embedded into all our hiring processes.
