## Job description

Bilgewater Group is a Chicago-based diversified services company founded in 2003. We operate across two core divisions: food service and care. Our food service division manages a network of quick-service and counter-service locations across the greater Chicagoland area, serving thousands of customers every day at high-traffic venues, including commercial districts, transit hubs, and retail centers.

## ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day accounting activities and help maintain accurate financial records. This role is a good fit for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numbers, documents, and spreadsheets in a remote environment.

## WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Assist with routine accounting and bookkeeping tasks
- Enter and maintain financial information in accounting systems and spreadsheets
- Review invoices, payments, and financial documents for accuracy
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Assist with account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Prepare basic reports and provide administrative support to the accounting team

## WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, administration, or a similar role
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and financial records
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Good organization and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
- Reliable internet connection and workspace
- Legally authorized to work in the United States

## NICE TO HAVE

- Experience with accounting or bookkeeping software
