The City of Fort Worth Aviation system is home to three world-class airports - Meacham International Airport, Spinks Airport and Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport.  Both Meacham International and Spinks Airports provide regional aviation services for air charter, corporate, business and recreational flyers.  Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport provides cargo carrier services.  The airports feature full-service fuelers, multiple maintenance facilities, flight schools, on-site rental car facilities, and hotel facilities only minutes away.  The City of Fort Worth Aviation Department is essential to the economic well-being and commerce taking place in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Minimum Qualifications: - Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field - Four (4) years of clerical and administrative experience Preferred Qualifications: - Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving ability, and exceptional attention to detail - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and solid experience with PeopleSoft HCM, including Time and Labor, Absence, Payroll, and timekeeping review - Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills, with proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines The Administrative Assistant job responsibilities include: - Provide administrative and accounting support, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, revenue processing, and extensive Excel work - Manage monthly and annual reconciliations for aviation‑related fees and monitor accounts receivable and payable - Assist with project expense tracking, project requests, and project closeout processes - Support department operations through travel and training request processing, HR training, and general administrative tasks - Coordinate Public Information Requests and serve as liaison to the Aviation Advisory Board - Handle procurement card duties and assist with purchasing, receiving, and year‑end closeout activities - Serve as secondary HR and Medical Records Coordinator, supporting recruitment, benefits, workers’ compensation, disciplinary processes, and HR reporting - Provide secondary payroll and timekeeping support, front‑desk backup coverage, cashier functions for iNovah transactions, and maintenance of department websites and tenant directories Working Conditions and Physical Demands: Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met Apply Now!
