As AI accelerates software development, teams need a reliable way to verify that their products work. Engineering teams at Notion, Webflow, Xero, and Whatnot use Momentic to ship with confidence. You’ll join our engineering team and work closely with our CTO to improve the models and agents behind Momentic. We’re looking for a hands-on AI engineer who can fine-tune models, build evaluations, and turn production data into more reliable, efficient agents. Momentic executes more than 1 million tests daily and processes more than 1 billion tokens per hour at peak, giving your improvements a direct impact on the product. ## What you’ll do - Fine-tune models for long-running agents, including agents that investigate whether test failures come from infrastructure, recent code changes, or test authorship. - Build and curate training and evaluation datasets from production workflows, using failure patterns to identify opportunities for improvement. - Develop LLM evaluations and observability that connect offline results with production behavior and help the team verify improvements. - Tune prompts, context, and model behavior to improve task success, reliability, latency, token usage, and cost. - Design repeatable experiments and help publish benchmarks that demonstrate our core agents’ performance on testing and browser workflows. - Own technical projects from problem definition through delivery, working with the engineering team to make practical tradeoffs and ship improvements. You’re perfect for this role if… - You have relevant software engineering experience, typically 3+ years, including hands-on contributions to AI-powered capabilities used in production. - You have hands-on experience with supervised fine-tuning, including preparing training data and evaluating model behavior. - You’ve worked with prompt and context tuning, evaluation datasets, and LLM observability to diagnose failures and measure improvements. - You have strong engineering fundamentals, code efficiently, and know what you’re great at and where you have room to grow. - You use AI agents to build software, breaking down work, tracking progress, checking results, and redirecting agents when they get stuck. - You’re comfortable with autonomy and ambiguity. You can turn an unclear problem into a plan, manage your own work, and follow through to delivery. We’re interested in the depth of your contributions and what you’ve shipped. Your experience may come from owning an AI capability within a larger product. Nice to haves - Experience with reinforcement learning fine-tuning, or LLM-as-judge evaluators. - Experience with long-running agents, recovery from failed steps, or coordinating multiple agents. - Experience publishing benchmarks or running rigorous experiments on AI systems. ## About us - Raised a $15M Series A led by Standard Capital, with backing from Y Combinator, FCVC, Transpose Platform, and Dropbox Ventures. - Our customer base has grown 4× year to date. - A team of 17 and growing. - Based in person in San Francisco at 650 5th Street. ## Benefits - Medical, dental, and vision insurance. - 401(k). - Unlimited PTO and sick days, plus company-observed US holidays. - Daily lunch and a fully stocked kitchen. - Commuter benefits. - Team offsites and events. ## About Momentic ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Momentic is an AI-native testing platform that enables engineering teams to write, run, and maintain end-to-end tests for web and mobile in plain English, using AI agents to automatically triage failures and heal tests as products evolve. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series A) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, USA - **Founded**: 2023 - **Founders**: Wei-Wei Wu (Co-founder & CEO), Jeff An (Co-founder) ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: Software Testing & QA, Developer Tools, AI-Powered Automation - **Target customers**: B2B, primarily aimed at engineering teams building web and mobile applications (ranges from startups to large enterprises) - **Mission or purpose statement**: To build the definitive verification layer for software, eliminating the QA bottleneck and catching real bugs before they ship ## Products & Services - **Momentic Platform (AI-Native End-to-End Testing)**: A SaaS platform where tests are authored in human-readable YAML (plain English). The platform uses AI agents to auto-heal tests as UI changes, triage failures with root cause analysis, map user flows to find coverage gaps, and generate tests from pull requests and diffs. Supports web, mobile (iOS/Android), and runs in CI/CD pipelines. - **Momentic for Mobile**: Extends the platform to native iOS and Android with failure recovery and dedicated mobile editing. - **Enterprise Features**: SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, 99.99% uptime SLA, SSO (SAML), RBAC, dedicated Customer Success Manager, 24/7 support. - **Self-Healing Specs**: Automatically adapts tests to UI changes, flagging only genuine regressions. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed - **Key Metrics**: Total funding of **$19.2M** with **$15M** raised in a Series A round led by Standard Capital on November 24, 2025. The company reports over **70 million test runs executed**, over **8.9 million auto-heals**, and **117,010 bugs caught** before production. Has a **96% signal-to-noise ratio**. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Standard Capital (Lead, Series A), Dropbox Ventures, Y Combinator (Batch W24), FCVC, Transpose Platform, Karman Ventures. - **Growth Signals**: Post-Series A funding to accelerate product and mission; used by 100+ teams including Notion, Bilt, Quora, Xero, and Webflow; rapid adoption driven by the AI coding boom (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) which creates testing bottlenecks. ## Competitive Advantages - **AI-First Design**: Unlike traditional testing frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright), Momentic is built from scratch around LLMs and agents to autonomously write, run, and maintain tests without manual scripting or XPath/CSS maintenance. - **Auto-Healing at Scale**: With millions of auto-heals performed, the platform actively learns the product's UI, terminology, and user flows from codebases, docs, and tickets to reduce flaky tests. - **Agentic Triage**: Provides root cause analysis, session replays, and reproducible steps for failures, connecting failures to codebase context. This reduces debugging time for engineering teams. - **Low Maintenance Overhead**: Tests are self-maintaining and adapt to changes, freeing QA and engineering teams from babysitting test suites. ## Strategic Focus - **Scale the Verification Layer**: Momentic is focused on becoming the essential quality infrastructure for the age of AI-generated code. As coding velocity increases, the company aims to prevent a quality collapse by providing an automated, intelligent testing layer. - **Deepening AI Integration**: The platform continues to expand its AI agents to learn from more tools (Jira, Linear, Figma) and close coverage gaps automatically. - **Enterprise Adoption**: With strong compliance (SOC 2, SLA) and dedicated support, Momentic is targeting larger enterprise accounts that need reliability and control. ## Why Work Here - **Culture Highlights**: Momentic is a Y Combinator-backed startup (W24) with a mission to solve a high-impact problem that is becoming critical in the AI era. The team is small (approximately 15 people) and focused on deep technical work. - **Remote/Hybrid/Office Policy**: HQ is in San Francisco (177 Townsend Street, Unit 930). The specific remote policy is not detailed publicly, but the operational setup (in-office for HQ, but tooling supports CI/CD globally) suggests a hybrid or flexible environment is likely. - **Notable Perks or Engineering Culture**: High-autonomy engineering environment (“Agents are shipping software faster than QA can keep up”). The company offers competitive compensation for a Series A startup (e.g., salary ranges from $150K - $220K listed on YC jobs), and equity. The work involves cutting-edge AI and LLM applications in a real-world product that tens of thousands of developers use. ## Sources 1. [momentic.ai](https://momentic.ai/) 2.
