## The Role

Bitstack is a crypto-asset service provider authorised under the MiCA Regulation. As such, we are subject to strict requirements relating to anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF) and fraud prevention. As part of the Compliance team, you will contribute to the day-to-day implementation of our compliance framework. You will review alerts and customer cases across three key areas: transaction monitoring, screening and KYC.

## What You'll Be Doing

1. Transaction Monitoring (Fiat & Crypto)

- Analyse and investigate transaction monitoring alerts across euro payment flows (card payments and SEPA transfers) and crypto flows (on-chain deposits and withdrawals).
- Examine transaction patterns, counterparties and wallet exposure to assess each alert and determine whether it is a false positive or should be escalated.
- Detect fraudulent activity, including payment fraud, account takeovers and scams targeting our users.
- Document your findings and, where appropriate, prepare the supporting information for a suspicious activity report to TRACFIN, the French financial intelligence unit.
- Contribute to improving detection scenarios and monitoring alert metrics.

1. Screening: PEPs, Sanctions & Adverse Media

- Review screening alerts and determine whether a match is genuine or a false positive.
- Implement enhanced due diligence measures for politically exposed persons (PEPs), including checks on the source of funds and source of wealth.
- Escalate confirmed matches against sanctions lists or adverse media findings in accordance with internal procedures.

1. KYC (Know Your Customer)

- Review and validate customer supporting documents, including proof of identity, proof of address, proof of income, source of funds and source of wealth.
- Detect identity theft attempts and forged documents.
- Assess consistency between the customer's profile, declared information and observed activity.
- Request additional documentation and follow up on cases through to their final decision.

You will also contribute to updating internal procedures and monitoring emerging fraud and money laundering typologies within the crypto ecosystem. You will gain hands-on experience with an AML/CFT framework at a regulated crypto-asset service provider. You will learn how alerts are handled from initial detection through to the final decision, how a risk-based approach is applied, how blockchain analytics tools are used, and how the Compliance team collaborates with Product, Operations and Customer Support.

## What We're Looking For

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Compliance, Law, Finance, Risk Management or a related field, and looking for an internship or work-study placement.
- Previous exposure to AML/CFT, KYC or fraud prevention through an internship, coursework or certification is a plus, but not required.
- Highly organised, rigorous and detail-oriented.
- Able to draw well-reasoned conclusions and clearly document findings in writing.
- Comfortable using spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets), with a strong interest in crypto-assets and blockchain technology.
- Discreet and meticulous when handling sensitive personal data.
- Fluent in French and comfortable working in English.
