We aim to move beyond verbal intelligence (prompts) to spatial intelligence (3D) by giving generative AI models a better understanding of exactly what humans imagine. We get there with camera-centric control system as well as technical innovation in 3D design, semantic systems, AI/ML, and knowledge graphs — all designed to live on the open web and deliver professional grade control over generative AI models. We are an interdisciplinary team of engineers, artists and designers that have built and shipped multiple end-to-end products at companies like Apple, Unity, Pixar, ILM, Google and Electronic Arts. Intangible is venture-funded by a16z Speedrun, Crosslink Capital and prominent angels. We are looking for like minded creative technologists who love their craft and building groundbreaking products. ## THE ROLE We’re looking for a Applied AI/Machine Learning Engineer to join our growing team. You'll play a principal role in designing and building AI assistants that empower people to use interactive 3D as a medium. Location: Preference for SF/Bay Area, CA. Open to remote candidates in North America & Western EU. ## WHAT YOU'LL DO - Design and develop assistive AI technology for interactive, 3D workflows. - Use the technology you build to propel human ability to communicate with interactive 3D. - Reduce the time it takes for someone to have an idea, visualize it, and share it with others. - Build and operate MCP servers at scale. ## RESPONSIBILITIES - Build agentic AI pipelines that extract intent, entities, and semantic structure from user input. - Analyze opportunities for improving the AI system's performance and personalization. - Integrate cloud and client LLMs to drive creative workflows. - Design and maintain knowledge graphs to represent world, character, and story data. - Prototype and apply AI features in collaboration with product and engineering teams. - Fine-tune or augment foundation models for domain-specific tasks. ## KEY COMPETENCIES - Evidence of exceptional ability in software development . - Understanding of ML principles, algorithms, and evaluation metrics. - Strong experience with modern agentic AI frameworks. - Experience with data storage and retrieval with vector databases. - Experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, RDF, property graphs). - Experience developing and operating agentic backend experiences, tools, optimizations. - Proficient in Python and ML libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow). - Ability to ship features end-to-end. ## IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS: - Experience building AI copilots. - Experience building recommendation systems. - Cloud ops, containerization, IaC and multi-tenant experience. - Background in computational linguistics or knowledge representation. ## BENEFITS - We are a remote-first company with a small concentration in the Bay Area. - Health insurance for you and your dependants - 401(k) plan - Flexible PTO ## About Intangible ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Intangible is building the world’s simplest 3D creative tool—a browser-based, no-code AI studio that lets creative professionals in film, games, advertising, and events visualize and direct complex 3D scenes in minutes. - **Entity Type**: Private (Seed-stage, venture-backed) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, USA - **Founded**: 2024 - **Founders**: Charles Migos and Bharat Vasan ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: AI-powered 3D creative tools, Spatial Intelligence, Multimedia and Design Software, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. - **Target customers**: B2B. Creative professionals and teams in film (previs & cinematography), games, advertising (commercials & campaigns), events (festivals & activations), AEC & real estate, retail (merchandising & store design), and aerospace/robotics/energy/defense. - **Mission or purpose statement**: *“Creative direction is a human superpower. AI should amplify it, not replace it.”* The company believes that as AI collapses production costs, the bottleneck shifts to creative direction, and they build tools to empower that human vision. ## Products & Services - **Intangible Platform (SaaS)**: A browser-based, no-code 3D creative studio powered by a proprietary Spatial Intelligence Engine. It gives LLMs and generative image/video models a semantic understanding of objects, spaces, and their relationships. Users can **Build** (import references, characters, CAD), **Compose** (place cameras, simulate animation, frame moments), and **Visualize** (render with AI models without hallucinations, ready for export to standard pipelines). The UX is described as “Pixar-level composition with Canva-level simplicity.” ## Market Standing - **Valuation**: Not publicly disclosed. - **Key Metric**: Total Funding of **$4.3M** across 3 rounds (Seed round led by A16Z GAMES Speedrun and Crosslink Capital in April 2025). A later PitchBook entry notes a $10M early-stage VC deal amount, which may represent a subsequent or extended round—this is a conflicting report. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: a16z Games Speedrun, Crosslink Capital. The founding team hails from Pixar, Apple, ILM, Disney, Netflix, Unity, Google, and EA. - **Growth Signals**: Headcount grew **+90.9% YoY** to approximately 14-19 employees (sources vary). Monthly LinkedIn follower growth of +2.5%. The company launched a public beta in 2025 and has expanded operations to 6 countries (Taiwan, UK, Canada, Spain, Ireland, USA). ## Competitive Advantages - **Spatial Intelligence Engine**: A proprietary AI architecture that gives generative models a semantic understanding of 3D space, objects, and relationships—enabling precise control over composition, camera angles, and scene layout, unlike “prompt roulette” tools. - **Founder-Market Fit**: Charles Migos spent 30 years building creative tools at Softimage (VFX for Jurassic Park, The Matrix), Apple (alongside Jobs and Ive), Unity, and Microsoft (180+ patents). Bharat Vasan was a founder at BASIS and August Home (both successful exits) and a VC at The Production Board. - **Team DNA**: Engineers and designers from Pixar, Apple, Unity, Disney, EA, NASA, and Spotify—deep domain expertise in creative tooling. - **No-Code, Browser-Based**: No downloads or hardware required; works on any modern browser, lowering the barrier to entry for non-technical creative teams. ## Strategic Focus - **Current priorities**: Scaling the platform post-public-beta, onboarding enterprise creative teams in film, advertising, and games. Deepening integrations with existing tools (Unity, Epic, Maya, Runway). Continuing to tune foundational models for creative workflows and expanding the semantic knowledge graph. - **Direction for growth**: Becoming the standard AI-native 3D creation tool for high-stakes creative work, with a focus on professional control over AI generation rather than full automation. ## Why Work Here - **Culture highlights**: A team of builders who “share a common passion for democratizing access” to world-class 3D tools. The company explicitly states it is *“not in the business of replacing creatives”*—a mission-driven stance that appeals to those who value human creativity. The team is small (~14-19 people), offering high ownership and impact. - **Remote/hybrid/office policy**: The company is headquartered in San Francisco (166 Geary Street) and has 2-3 office locations. Job listings on Built In and Ashby indicate **Remote** roles are available. The San Francisco office is described as an OnSite Workspace. - **Notable perks or engineering culture**: Engineering team includes founding engineers with experience at Unity, Pixar, and NASA. The tech stack involves working at the frontier of generative AI, 3D graphics, and knowledge graphs. The company is well-funded by top-tier VCs (a16z) and offers the stability of a post-seed startup with a clear product-market fit signal. ## Sources 1. [intangible.ai](https://www.intangible.ai/) 2.
