Payments became infrastructure. Telecom became infrastructure. The complexity of routing money or connecting two people anywhere in the world disappeared behind reliable networks, and the end user simply transacts. Our mission is to do that for healthcare: rebuild the transaction rails from new primitives that make getting care as simple as ordering takeout. We're a small team in New York, in person every day. We've built and shipped complex workflow and AI systems for HHS, NIH, and other critical institutions. We're here because few systems matter more to the daily lives of Americans, and few are more in need of rebuilding. ## The role As an Applied AI Strategist, you play two roles: an operator who understands how care providers actually run, from the workflows to the handoffs to the workarounds, and a redesigner who can see how that work should be rebuilt once AI is a native part of it. You'll own the gap between the two: mapping how customers operate today, defining what the system needs to become, and driving that transformation through to delivery. Some days that means writing the product spec. Other days it means sitting with a customer, tracing a broken workflow end to end, redesigning the operating model, or working directly with engineers to get the new system into production. ## What you'll do - Scope and ship: guide our product and engineering teams to build the next solution, and demo it to current and prospective customers. - Take customers live: get them onto the platform with their core transactions running automatically, drive adoption, and reach a steady state they trust. - Build trust through execution: earn the relationship by delivering; become the person they call first. - Learn how they really work: embed with their team until you can see what's worth building next. - Make it repeatable: turn each deployment into a process, with the tooling to match, so the next one is faster than the last. Who thrives here - See the real problem: you look past what a customer asks for to the problem that actually matters. - Care that it works: millions rely on this system, so failing isn't on the table. You share the sense that we don't get to walk away from a problem this important. - Write the playbook: you're comfortable when there's none yet, because you're the one writing it. - Know where the edges are: you understand the system well enough to lead the build conversation toward the right long-term solution. ## Compensation $140,000 - $200,000 + competitive equity Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national, or U.S. lawful permanent resident. This is a full-time, in-person position based at our New York City office. ## About Armory ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Armory is an applied AI lab building multi-modal orchestration systems to serve as the execution layer for U.S. healthcare, automating non-clinical tasks and enabling seamless interoperability between entities. - **Entity Type**: Private (early-stage startup, no disclosed funding round) - **Headquarters**: Brooklyn, New York, United States - **Founded**: 2024 - **Founders**: Harshil Mattoo (Founder & CEO), Arthur Kam (Chief Architect) ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: Healthcare technology, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Software Development - **Target customers**: U.S. healthcare organizations – hospitals, clinical systems, and other entities that need to streamline administrative and operational workflows; the “clinical frontline.” - **Mission or purpose statement**: “Armory exists to arm the clinical frontline. We are building the execution layer for American healthcare: infrastructure that absorbs the entirety of work that stands between patients and care. The future of healthcare is not asking clinicians to do more. It is ensuring they only do what matters.” [armorymedical.com/mission](https://www.armorymedical.com/mission) ## Products & Services - **Agent Runtime**: Execution engine with task scheduling, state management, exception handling, and human-escalation pathways for autonomous agents. [us.trabajo.org](https://us.trabajo.org/job-982-082611465f33b346b35c29c20941e7ec) - **Multi-Agent Orchestration Platform**: Coordinates complex, multi-agent systems that can process clinical documents, voice interactions, and multimodal healthcare data through tool use and real-time decision pipelines. [us.trabajo.org](https://us.trabajo.org/job-982-082611465f33b346b35c29c20941e7ec) - **Federated Interoperability Protocol**: Enforces data residency while enabling cross-entity agent collaboration across different healthcare organizations. [us.trabajo.org](https://us.trabajo.org/job-982-082611465f33b346b35c29c20941e7ec) - **Developer APIs / SDKs**: Abstractions that allow internal and external teams to deploy agents on the platform. [us.trabajo.org](https://us.trabajo.org/job-982-082611465f33b346b35c29c20941e7ec) All offerings are software/SaaS focused on autonomous agent orchestration. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed (private, early stage) - **Key Metric**: Total funding not publicly available; headcount is 6 employees (as of mid-2025) with +133.3% YoY growth. [linkedin.com](https://www.linkedin.com/company/armorymedical) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: No formal investment round announced. Talent sources on LinkedIn include Andreessen Horowitz, Palantir Technologies, Instabase, and Cove Hill Partners – indicating strong network connections but not necessarily direct investors. [linkedin.com](https://www.linkedin.com/company/armorymedical) - **Growth Signals**: Headcount grew from ~2 to 6 in one year (+133%); LinkedIn follower growth of +468.4% year-over-year; actively hiring for software engineering roles with significant equity offers. [linkedin.com](https://www.linkedin.com/company/armorymedical) ## Competitive Advantages - **Mission-critical focus**: Building infrastructure for the U.S. healthcare system – a high‑barrier, high‑stakes vertical with deep regulatory and data‑residency requirements. - **Founding team pedigree**: Founders have direct experience delivering mission-critical AI to the Department of Health & Human Services, National Institutes of Health, and other federal institutions via Palantir. [armorymedical.com](https://www.armorymedical.com/) - **Flat, high-ownership culture**: Extremely flat structure where engineers own entire subsystems from day one – not a “feature-team” environment. [us.trabajo.org](https://us.trabajo.org/job-982-082611465f33b346b35c29c20941e7ec) - **Multi-modal, agentic architecture**: Combining LLMs, voice, document processing, and interoperability – a full‑stack approach that competitors often address piecemeal. ## Strategic Focus - **Current priorities and direction for growth**: - Deploying a production-grade “agentic mesh network” that can autonomously handle non-clinical administrative tasks across healthcare entities. - Building out the core agent runtime and orchestration layer to be both developer‑friendly and HIPAA‑/data‑residency compliant. - Scaling the engineering team rapidly (current active hiring for Software Engineers) while maintaining a tight, in‑office culture in New York City. [jobs.ashbyhq.com](https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/armory) ## Why Work Here - **Culture highlights**: “Rebel” mindset – the company describes itself as “rebels that want to re‑invent how healthcare is delivered.” Operates with extreme flatness; engineers are expected to identify the highest‑leverage problem and solve it without waiting for specs. - **Remote/hybrid/office policy**: Fully in‑office in New York City (Manhattan/Brooklyn). The job posting explicitly states “New York City. In‑office.” – no remote or hybrid option. [us.trabajo.org](https://us.trabajo.org/job-982-082611465f33b346b35c29c20941e7ec) - **Notable perks or engineering culture**: - Top‑of‑market cash compensation plus “significant founding‑team equity.” - Ownership of real subsystems (agent runtime, orchestration, APIs) with autonomy and accountability. - Opportunity to push the envelope of applied AI in one of the most critical sectors in the country. - Small, elite team (6 people) with backgrounds from Palantir, Instabase, and other top-tier firms. ## Sources 1.
