The Stronger Change Office seeks a detail-oriented, proactive, and organized Associate Director, Stronger Business Innovation & Sustainability. This job reports to the Senior Director, Stronger Operations and Business. This is a dynamic, project-based role that will evolve based on the needs and priorities collectively identified by Stronger affiliates. Purpose: The Associate Director, Stronger Business Innovation & Sustainability provides strategic business operations and project management leadership to Stronger’s financial sustainability and innovation opportunities work. This role will lead the execution of high-impact partnerships with affiliates, mission-aligned innovators (e.g. start-ups, FemTech companies, etc.) , and external vendors to drive program sustainability. The role requires an entrepreneurial and analytical individual capable of independently driving complex workstreams, from pilot development and commercial structuring to landscape scanning and financial analysis, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of Stronger’s business model innovation activities supporting long-term sustainability of PPFA affiliates. - Project Management: - Own and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, ensuring alignment between affiliate capacity and strategic program goals. - Drive project-based work across workstreams focused on affiliate sustainability, including milestone tracking, risk mitigation, and the creation of project management and alignment materials for cross-functional leadership. - Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-priority projects: - Work with SCO and PP affiliate staff to design and execute pilots and supports. - Collect affiliate input to inform strategic direction, conducting external research and/or engaging with external parties (e.g., experts, vendors) when needed. - Business & Financial Analysis: - Drive financial sustainability efforts through rigorous business assessments, market research, financial modeling, and the development of tools and processes to scale innovative business models across the affiliate network. - Healthcare Innovation Partnerships: - Engage affiliates to co-design new, revenue-generating partnerships, through analysis of healthcare innovation landscape, start-up ecosystems, and/or sectors like FemTech, to evaluate potential mission-aligned partners. - Build collaborative networks internally and with affiliates to deepen shared perspective on approaches to innovation partnership development. Delivery: - Manage the development and execution of Stronger’s portfolio of business innovation and sustainability projects (and other projects as needed), including stakeholder management, tracking deliverables, and conducting analysis to identify areas for operational and strategic improvement. - Coordinate the development of revenue-shared partnerships, including: conducting landscape scans, drafting models to measure return on investment, collaborating on partner selection criteria for mission-aligned innovators, and adapting partnership structures and revenue streams. - Draft structure and launch pilot partnerships in collaboration with affiliates and Sr. Director, defining KPIs, measuring outcomes, and developing the tools and processes to prepare for scale-up of promising models. - Advise and partner with affiliates to evaluate readiness for new business opportunities, facilitating go/no-go decisions through rigorous financial modeling and supporting the development of implementation plans, workflows, and performance tracking systems. - Communicate program impact and business cases through collaborative data collection, narrative creation, and the reporting of key metrics to stakeholders. - Develop, adapt, and share tools, best practices, and resources through a centralized database to ensure continuous learning and scalability across the affiliate network. - Develop, maintain, and improve business assessment dashboards and related analysis that provide affiliates with actionable data to inform strategic decision-making and drive long-term program sustainability - Perform other duties as assigned. Engagement: The Associate Director, Business Innovations & Sustainability will have a strong customer service philosophy and an organized approach to their work. They will: - Develop and prepare project timeline, materials, reports, and communications tailored for diverse internal and external stakeholders, encompassing a wide range of audiences, such as project coordinators, analysts, and C-Suite executives. This includes one-pagers, presentations, and handouts on active projects. - Present project updates and findings to the Stronger Change Office, PPFA National Office, and affiliates to support timely project development and monitoring. Support Sr. Director in communicating Stronger's value to affiliates, preparing summaries and recommendations. - Facilitate the Innovations Working Group by engaging affiliate staff to gather feedback, ensure internal alignment, and drive project development based on evolving affiliate needs and priorities - Direct the coordination of workshops and meetings, including: - Scheduling meetings - Developing presentations and other communications materials - Facilitating discussions - Conducting research (internet searches, focus groups, surveys, interviews, etc.) to inform the development and implementation of pilot projects - Synthesizing research findings and sharing with Working Group members for input - Proactively identify operational issues or risks in project execution and service delivery, and develop mitigation plans to address these challenges effectively. - Maintain open and effective communication with affiliates, ensuring they are aware of available resources, support, and project updates. - Engage with affiliates and colleagues to gather feedback and input to inform and enhance project development and execution. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): - Proven track record in management consulting, healthcare advisory, or corporate strategy, combined with deep experience within the US domestic healthcare ecosystem (e.g., payers, public health networks, digital health/FemTech spaces). The ideal candidate has experience translating high-level business strategies into operational reality within complex, matrixed, or federated environments. - At least 6 years of progressive professional experience in complex program management, combining rigorous financial analysis (e.g., ROI) with hands-on experience in sustainable business planning, market landscaping, and managing high-impact external partnerships. - Bachelor’s degree required. MBA, MPA, MPH, or equivalent preferred.
