They're on their feet stocking stadiums, working the night shifts, caring for patients, and changing the linens. Their work keeps the world running, yet the software they rely on is rigid, outdated, and not built with them in mind. Behind these frontline workers are administrators buried in tasks: building schedules, tracking expiring credentials, resolving coverage gaps, and fixing timecards before payroll closes. For the past few years, Teambridge has been building the software that helps these teams operate at scale. Now we're using AI to handle that work end-to-end. Simply describe how your operation runs, from credential requirements and union pay rules to shift coverage and scheduling policies. Teambridge will understand your business, automate the complexity, and take care of the operational overhead. Hundreds of thousands of workers across professional sports, national health systems, security, and logistics rely on Teambridge every day. We're based in San Francisco and backed by General Catalyst, Mayfield, Abstract Ventures, and industry-leading angels. We're building a future where frontline operations run themselves, allowing our customers to focus on the work that matters most. ## The role We’re looking for a Senior/Lead Backend Engineer - a critical thinker and a doer who wants real ownership and real impact, with a track record of shipping high-quality code that holds up at enterprise scale. How we work - and who thrives here We’re an engineering team moving fast with a lot of ambiguity and only about one and a half PMs (you are the half PM), so the engineers who do well here take a rough requirement and run with it - scoping their own work, unblocking themselves, and flagging where they need clarification rather than stalling or spinning. You’re a generalist at heart: your center of gravity is the backend, but when shipping a feature calls for a bit of frontend work, you pick it up as part of getting it out the door rather than treating it as someone else’s problem. You’d rather ship a solid “Phase 1” and iterate than polish toward a “perfect” design for months. You hold strong opinions and can defend them with real reasons, but you hold them loosely - the best idea wins, not the loudest or most senior voice. You work directly with founders, product, and customer-facing teammates, and can explain a technical tradeoff to a non-engineer clearly, without condescension, and in a way that is useful to them. And because we move quickly and things shift, you stay grounded and effective when the requirements change under you. We use AI coding tools heavily, across the whole stack, and we hire and grow generalists - curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn matter more to us than a résumé that already checks every box. Responsibilities: - Independently deliver features end-to-end: backend and infrastructure, plus the frontend skeleton to make them meaningful - Work cross-functionally with product, design, and sales to understand requirements and ship thoughtful solutions. - Remove ambiguity by leading tradeoff discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders - Write high-quality code optimized for extensibility and scale. - Actively engage in code reviews to maintain a high bar of engineering excellence. - Lead or participate in discussions and architecture reviews to collaborate and arrive at the best technical design. - Promote better practices and share technical knowledge across the team. - Help grow Teambridge through deliberate feedback on product, process, and culture. - If local to the SF Bay Area, in-office three times per week Location We're based in San Francisco. If you're in the Bay Area, we work from our office in SoMa three days a week - at this stage, the collaboration that in-person time offers is meaningful to our velocity. We're also open to fully remote hires within the US. The three-day expectation only applies if you're local to the Bay Area. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of experience in backend development (Java, Go, Python, Node.js, etc). An ideal candidate will have: - 3+ years of experience with Kotlin or other JVM languages - Prior experience with asynchronous event-based systems based on SQS, Kafka, PubSub, or similar - Prior experience with our existing tech stack - Prior experience shipping production-grade code working with AI coding tools Our Tech - Kotlin, Micronaut - PostgreSQL, Redis - AWS suite, hosted with ECS - React, Typescript - Github/Slack/Linear for collaboration ## About Teambridge ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Teambridge provides a composable workforce management platform powered by AI for frontline hourly teams. - **Entity Type**: Private (venture-backed, raised over $35M) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, United States - **Founded**: 2020 - **Founders**: Tito Goldstein and Arjun Vora ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Workforce Management / Human Resources Technology - **Target customers**: B2B – enterprises and organizations that manage large hourly and frontline workforces (e.g., stadiums, healthcare, worksites) - **Mission or purpose**: “Taking the management out of workforce management” – automating administrative busywork so frontline teams can focus on operations and growth. ## Products & Services - **[Workforce Agents (AI)]**: Specialized AI agents (Shift Replacement, Onboarding, Compliance, Timecard Exception, etc.) that run routine workforce tasks automatically. - **[Scheduling]**: AI-driven shift filling, auto-scheduling, and open shift distribution. - **[Time Tracking]**: Accurate time capture with exception detection before payroll. - **[Onboarding]**: Digital document, credential, and training verification before the first shift. - **[Communication]**: Targeted messaging and notifications to the right crew members. - **[Instant Pay]**: Earned wage access to improve retention. - **[Invoicing]**: Automated invoice generation from approved hours. - **[Compliance Management]**: SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, ISO 27001, and HIPAA compliant. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly disclosed (private company) - **Key Metric**: Total Funding – over $35 million raised; annual revenue not disclosed - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Backed by investors who have helped scale category-defining software companies; customers include the San Francisco 49ers (Levi’s Stadium) and the Florida Panthers. - **Growth Signals**: 4.9 rating on G2 and App Store; 98.1 million notifications sent; 252.7 million processes automated; $23M annual impact on hourly workforce (admin hours saved 924K); 45% increase in employee retention at Levi’s Stadium. ## Competitive Advantages - **Composable workforce infrastructure**: Unlike legacy software, Teambridge is endlessly customizable to fit each business’s unique operations. - **AI-first approach**: Specialized AI agents handle repetitive admin tasks around the clock, reducing manual work. - **Mobile-first, consumer-grade experience**: Built for the worker, not just the administrator – the app puts schedules, pay, and growth opportunities in every worker’s pocket. - **Enterprise-grade compliance**: SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001, HIPAA certified – critical for industries like healthcare and sports. ## Strategic Focus - **AI Automation**: Continued investment in Workforce Agents to automate scheduling, compliance, timekeeping, and more. - **Scaling operations**: Extending from stadiums and healthcare to broader frontline industries. - **Worker retention**: Using features like instant pay and self-service scheduling to reduce turnover and improve engagement. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: Values include “Grateful Owners,” “Weave Magic,” and “Sprint the Relay” – a mix of humility, creativity, and urgency. - **Hybrid Policy**: The whole team comes into the San Francisco office 3 days a week. - **Dog-friendly Office**: Dogs allowed in the SF office (no cats 😄). - **Benefits**: - 100% of employee premiums for medical, dental, vision; 70% for dependents. - Generous paid parental leave with full salary. - Pre-tax and Roth 401(k) plans. - Flexible paid time off. - **Growth Opportunities**: Open roles in Engineering, Design, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing – with the chance to build revolutionary software for a workforce that’s historically been underserved. ## Sources 1.
