Job Description

## POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking dependable, mechanically inclined individuals to join our bindery and finishing department. In this position, you will learn to set up, operate, and monitor high-speed bindery equipment used to produce books, catalogs, and other printed materials.

Previous bindery experience is required. Training will be provided for candidates with machine operating experience, mechanical ability, and a strong willingness to learn.

## RESPONSIBILITIES

- Set up and operate bindery equipment, including cutters, folders, stitchers, and perfect binders
- Monitor equipment throughout production and make necessary adjustments
- Complete machine changeovers and basic setups
- Read job instructions, production specifications, and measurements
- Inspect finished products for accurate cuts, folds, binding, counts, and overall quality
- Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment or production issues
- Keep equipment and work areas clean, safe, and organized
- Work with other team members to meet daily production and quality goals
- Follow all company safety procedures and production standards
- Maintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared for each scheduled shift

## QUALIFICATIONS

- Previous experience operating machinery in printing, manufacturing, warehousing, or a related environment is preferred
- Bindery, finishing, or commercial printing experience is a plus
- Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment is preferred
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
- Able to follow job instructions and work with basic measurements and decimals
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn multiple pieces of bindery and finishing equipment

## PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

- Ability to remain on your feet for most of the shift
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Ability to safely work around moving machinery and production equipment
