Today that means the largest network of tech newsletters in the world, with over 8M subscribers covering startups, software engineering, AI, cybersecurity, product, and more. What makes it work is who writes it. Every issue comes from people building in tech, not reporters covering it. Our writers keep their day jobs: two engineers at Coinbase write[TLDR Crypto](https://tldr.tech/crypto), engineers at DeepMind and Meta write[TLDR Dev](https://tldr.tech/dev), researchers at Anthropic and Adobe write[TLDR AI](https://tldr.tech/ai), and robotics and datacenter strategy leads at OpenAI and Meta write[TLDR Hardware](https://tldr.tech/hardware). If it matters in tech, it's in TLDR. That's what makes TLDR the best place to find what you need to learn. đŸ’ȘTeam: Our 31-person full-time team includes alumni of TikTok, Reddit, Amazon, Business Insider, Asana, Morning Brew, and Pinterest. We've stayed intentionally small, which means every person here owns a function rather than a slice of one. 📈Traction: We're bootstrapped, profitable, and on track for $35M in revenue this year - after $9M in 2024 and $20M in 2025. The advertisers who fund it want tech's decision-makers: AWS, Google Cloud, Anthropic, Slack, Notion, and GitHub. ## About the Role Every week, TLDR reaches millions of technical and business readers by distilling the industry’s news into something worth reading. We’ve built real authority, but we haven’t yet built a content engine that puts TLDR’s own data, insights, and perspective front and center. As our Brand & Editorial Marketer, you’ll build it. You’ll turn positioning and audience insights into compelling content that strengthens the TLDR brand, supports Sales, and helps us test new narratives and channels. This is our first dedicated brand and editorial hire! You’ll report to the VP of Marketing and work closely with Growth, Product Marketing, and Demand Generation. In this role, you will: - Define TLDR’s voice. Turn our positioning into a clear brand story, own our voice and tone guidelines, and help shape executive and thought-leadership content. - Own the editorial strategy and story pipeline. Build the content calendar and develop the themes, angles, and stories that fuel our owned social, Growth, and Demand Generation channels. - Turn data into insight. Partner with Strategy & Ops to transform first-party audience and performance data into trend reports, predictions, and other publishable content. - Create content that builds the brand and supports Sales. Develop B2B assets for Sales and Account Management, consumer-facing brand work, and test new formats and channels such as video, social campaigns, and creative brand projects. - Set the editorial bar. Own quality across Content Studio and partner with our curators to ensure a consistent TLDR voice across the brand. What Success Looks Like Within six months: - A year-ahead editorial calendar is published, with a defined B2B cadence and identified consumer moments. - The brand voice and tone guide is written, socialized, and applied to live Content Studio and curator output. - A set of B2B assets is the market (trend reports, predictions, performance guides), and reps reach for it without being asked. - A working story pipeline is handing narrative to the team for channel execution. Within twelve months: - Content is a named contributor to inbound demand, with attribution in place. - Brand-voice review is a standing function that you own. - Consumer-facing narrative and campaign work is underway, not just planned. ## About You - 7–10 years of content or editorial experience, with deep expertise in either B2B SaaS or media/newsletters and familiarity with the other. - Strong editorial and brand instincts, with experience owning an editorial calendar, developing brand voice and tone, and writing and editing across long- and short-form content. - A strategic, data-informed approach to content, using metrics like traffic, CTR, engagement, and attribution to understand performance. - Cross-functional experience, including partnering with Sales or Account Management on buyer-facing content and managing freelance or contract writers. - Bonus: You’ve built a content function from the ground up, worked in digital media or newsletters, or owned both B2B buyer content and consumer brand storytelling. You’ll Thrive Here If
 - You have strong editorial judgment. You know what’s worth publishing, can turn positioning into compelling content, and aren’t afraid to make the call. - You lead through influence. You’re comfortable working across Growth, Product Marketing, Content Studio, and external contributors without direct authority. - You’re a hands-on player-coach. You’d rather set the standard and ship great work than manage a large team. This is an individual contributor role by design. - You think audience-first and commercially. You understand both what resonates with readers and how content can support buyers, Sales, and broader business goals. - You’re excited to build from zero. You’ll define TLDR’s owned voice and content approach from the ground up—with an existing audience of millions already in place. ## Why You'll Love It đŸ€‘ Compensation: Total cash at target is $211,500 - $253,500 - Base salary: $168,500 to $210,500 - Annual bonus: $43,000 when we hit our company revenue goal, paid in cash each January, with upside up to $86,000 if we beat it đŸ’ČHow we pay: One of our values is to simplify aggressively, and that includes pay. You get a base and a bonus, both in cash. We place you in the band based on what the interview process shows about your experience. If you’ve done this role at this level before, we’d typically start you around $232.5k in total cash, which leaves room to grow. You move up with performance, and we review pay every year. We keep the team small and pay well, so you work alongside strong people. If comp is the only thing stopping you from applying, tell us. 🌎 Location: We're 100% remote across the US and Canada. Work where you want - our bands are set to tier-1 city rates wherever you live. đŸ€ Team Events: Biannual team offsites. Most recently we’ve gone to New Orleans, San Diego and Park City! đŸïž Time to Recharge: Flexible PTO. Most of the team takes 2–3 weeks a year, plus holidays. đŸ„ Health Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits with a 100% paid option 📈 401(k) Plan: Empower 401(k) đŸŒ Paid Parental Leave đŸ’» Home Office Stipend: Whatever makes you productive - standing desk, second monitor, chair, walking pad. 🔰 Learning & Development Stipend: For anything that makes you better at your work, and for AI tools especially. Don't ration your tokens. đŸ“„ If you're ready to make a real dent at a bootstrapped, profitable company, apply. Tell us if you need any accommodation at any point in the process.
