You’ll make sure our finances are accurate, our people are supported, and important administrative, legal, and operational work gets handled with urgency. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in knowing where every dollar went, notices when something is wrong, and follows through until it is fixed. Finance and bookkeeping will be the foundation of the role, with additional ownership across people operations, office management, recruiting coordination, and executive operations. You do not need to be a CFO, CPA, lawyer, or HR executive. You do need to understand what you know, recognize what you don’t, and exercise good judgment about when to bring in an expert. You’ll work with external accountants, legal counsel, and other specialists, but you will remain accountable for the quality and completion of the work. ## What you’ll own Finance and accounting operations - Maintain accurate books and ensure every transaction is properly categorized and reconciled - Manage accounts payable, reimbursements, payroll coordination, invoicing, and financial records - Know where the company’s money is going and quickly investigate discrepancies - Maintain our financial model with support from fractional finance experts when needed - Coordinate with our outsourced accounting firm, CPA, and tax advisors - Prepare reliable financial information for the founders and help them understand cash, spend, and tradeoffs - Build lightweight controls and processes that keep the company compliant without slowing it down People operations - Own day-to-day HR administration, including onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits, and employee records - Operate systems such as Rippling, Gusto, or similar platforms - Make sure employees receive timely, thoughtful support when they have questions or problems - Coordinate with external experts on compensation, compliance, and employment matters - Help introduce more structured people programs as the company grows Legal and business operations - Coordinate contracts, insurance, registrations, compliance deadlines, and other corporate administration - Develop sound judgment about what can be handled internally and what should be routed to legal counsel - Work effectively with lawyers while managing cost and avoiding unnecessary risk - Maintain organized records and ensure important deadlines and commitments do not get missed - Approach AI-generated legal or financial guidance cautiously and verify important decisions with qualified experts Office and executive operations - Help manage the office and create an environment where the team can do its best work - Support the founders with high-priority administrative and operational projects - Coordinate vendors, events, scheduling, travel, and other company needs - Help with recruiting coordination and candidate experience when needed - Identify operational gaps and take ownership without waiting for detailed instructions ## What we’re looking for - Experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or business operations, ideally followed by work at an early-stage technology company - Hands-on experience with payroll and HR administration - Experience with at least one accounting system, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite - Experience with a people platform such as Rippling, Gusto, or Workday - Exceptional attention to detail—you are the kind of person who will investigate a $5 discrepancy - A strong sense of urgency and a low tolerance for important tasks being dropped - Good judgment about when to solve something yourself and when to involve a CPA, lawyer, or other specialist - A genuine desire to support people and make the company work better for them - Curiosity and the ability to learn unfamiliar areas quickly - Strong prioritization skills: you ask how important a problem is, what it will cost, and what tradeoffs the company is willing to make - Comfort working across finance, HR, legal coordination, office management, and executive operations You may be a particularly good fit if - You began your career in finance or accounting and later moved into broader startup operations - You are currently an exceptional executive assistant, finance manager, or operations lead who has naturally become the person everyone relies on - You care about both the numbers and the people behind them - You enjoy being the “squeaky wheel” who makes sure work actually gets completed - You want broad ownership inside a young company and are willing to stay close to the details What success looks like - Our books are accurate, current, and explainable - Leadership has a reliable view of cash, spending, and financial tradeoffs - Payroll, benefits, invoices, and compliance deadlines are handled correctly and on time - Employees know where to go for operational help and trust that their questions will be resolved - External accountants, lawyers, and consultants are used thoughtfully, while ownership remains internal - Important work does not fall through the cracks ## About LiteLLM ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: LiteLLM provides an open-source AI gateway and Python SDK that unifies access to 100+ large language models (LLMs) with built-in cost tracking, guardrails, and load balancing. -
