Combine project management, workflow consulting, and change leadership to integrate AI into clinical and administrative workflows. Requires 5+ years in healthcare tech implementation and strong AI fluency. ## Job description Clinically AI is a healthcare technology company transforming how clinicians document care, complete audits, and manage administrative workflows through artificial intelligence. Our platform reduces administrative burden, improves operational efficiency, and helps behavioral health and healthcare organizations focus more on care delivery and less on documentation and compliance overhead. Built with a strong emphasis on clinical usability, regulatory alignment, and workflow integration, we operate in a fast-growing and rapidly evolving AI healthcare market where adoption, trust, and execution matter. We are seeking a Clinical AI Implementation Lead to join our team in a hybrid role, working on-site in our San Diego office Monday through Thursday. In this role, you will own end-to-end implementation, adoption, and workflow enablement for enterprise behavioral health and healthcare customers using the Clinically AI platform. This is not a traditional software implementation role focused only on deployment and go-live milestones. Success in this position is measured by sustained usage, behavioral adoption, and long-term workflow integration across clinical, compliance, audit, and operational teams. You will help organizations become AI-native by guiding clinicians, administrators, and leadership teams through the transition from cautious experimentation to confident daily usage. You will help customers operationalize AI in a way that becomes embedded into daily clinical and administrative workflows This role combines project management, workflow consulting, AI configuration, stakeholder leadership, and organizational change management. You will serve as the primary strategic and operational partner for customers throughout implementation and adoption, helping them integrate AI into real clinical and administrative workflows in a way that is practical, compliant, and sustainable over time. This is a highly cross-functional role requiring strong communication, systems thinking, empathy, and operational leadership. You must be comfortable working across executives, therapists, compliance leaders, IT stakeholders, and frontline staff while maintaining clarity, momentum, and trust throughout the customer journey. ## KEY ATTRIBUTES TO SUCCEED - Adoption-Focused Mindset: You measure success by sustained usage, workflow integration, and customer outcomes rather than simply completing implementation milestones. - Strong Project and Program Management: You are able to manage complex, multi-stakeholder implementations across clinical, operational, compliance, and technical teams while maintaining alignment and execution momentum. - Empathy and Change Leadership: You are comfortable guiding clinicians, administrators, and operational teams through uncertainty or skepticism related to AI adoption and new workflows. - AI-Native Thinking: You actively use AI tools in your own work and understand prompting, structured outputs, workflow automation, and practical AI application in operational environments. - Clinical Workflow Fluency: You understand healthcare and behavioral health documentation workflows, compliance requirements, and how clinicians and audit teams operate in practice. - Communication and Stakeholder Alignment: You are able to communicate effectively with executive sponsors, therapists, compliance teams, IT leaders, and frontline users while adapting your communication style to different audiences. - Systems and Operational Thinking: You understand how implementation, training, adoption, support, workflow optimization, and customer success connect into a unified operational system. - Thriving in a Fast-Paced Environment: You operate effectively in a high-growth startup where priorities evolve quickly and speed of execution matters. ## REQUIRED: - 5+ years of experience in healthcare technology implementation, consulting, or clinical operations leadership - Demonstrated experience owning enterprise-grade implementations from kickoff through stabilization, with full ownership of project plan, configuration, training, and adoption - Hands-on experience with EHR systems, clinical documentation workflows, and clinician training - Strong track record in change management and adoption, particularly with users who are new to a technology or cautious about it - Active, daily user of AI tools in your own work (LLMs, prompt engineering, structured outputs) - Excellent communication and persuasion skills, comfortable presenting to executive leadership, leading clinician training, and working across stakeholder groups PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED (Nice to Have): - Behavioral health, substance use, IDD, or human services experience - Familiarity with chart auditing, utilization review, compliance auditing, or quality assurance workflows - Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as Joint Commission, CARF, Medicaid requirements, and ASAM Criteria - Hands-on experience with AI-powered documentation tools or ambient listening technologies - Background as a behavioral health clinician (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMHC, LPCC, psychologist, etc.) - Experience scaling an implementation function in an early-stage SaaS environment This is a full-time hybrid position based in San Diego, CA, with on-site work required Monday through Thursday and up to 20% domestic travel for customer onboarding, training, workshops, and go-live support. Clinically AI is a high-growth early-stage company, and we are intentional about building a strong in-person culture where collaboration, speed, customer feedback, and operational execution are central to success. We offer competitive compensation, performance-based incentives, healthcare coverage, and flexible time off. The base salary range for this role is $100,000–$150,000 annually, depending on experience, healthcare implementation expertise, customer-facing leadership experience, demonstrated performance, and overall scope alignment. This role is also eligible for a target annual bonus equal to 10% of base salary, with bonus payouts evaluated quarterly based on achievement of both company and individual performance goals. In certain cases, we may consider candidates outside of this range whose background, clinical workflow knowledge, implementation track record, or healthcare AI experience strongly aligns with the needs of the role. The interview process includes an initial screening interview, followed by 2 onsite interviews focused on clinical workflow understanding, AI fluency, project management, stakeholder leadership, and adoption strategy, with a final conversation with the CEO. Final candidates will complete a hiring exercise involving AI workflow configuration and a customer adoption strategy exercise designed to assess systems thinking, implementation judgment, and organizational change management approach. Due to high interest, we will only respond to candidates who meet the basic qualifications. Clinically AI provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or genetics. ## About Clinically AI ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Clinically AI provides an AI-powered platform for behavioral health organizations to automate clinical documentation, ensure compliance, and reduce administrative burden. - **Entity Type**: Private (Startup) - **Headquarters**: San Diego, California, United States - **Founded**: 2023 - **Founders**: Ross Young (CEO) and Elijah Lipsky (CTO) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Healthcare IT / Behavioral Health Technology - **Target customers**: B2B; behavioral health organizations including private practices, group practices, and multi-state networks; clinicians, case managers, and compliance teams. - **Mission or purpose statement**: To support clinicians by using AI to reduce administrative burden, minimize compliance risk, and help care teams spend more time with people—not in clicks.
