Built for pioneers by pioneers, CoreWeave delivers a platform of technology, tools, and teams that enables innovators to build and scale AI with confidence. Trusted by leading AI labs, startups, and global enterprises, CoreWeave combines superior infrastructure performance with deep technical expertise to accelerate breakthroughs and turn compute into capability. What You'll Do: The Global Data Center Operations team serves as the backbone of our infrastructure, ensuring the seamless performance of our global hyperscale environment. Operating in a high-stakes, 24/7 setting, this team is responsible for safeguarding the availability, stability, and reliability of mission-critical systems that power our most essential services. About the role: As a Command Center Technician, you will serve as the front-line mission control for our global data center fleet. Where a site technician walks the floor, you walk the fleet — conducting structured remote rounds across every site we operate, using BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and every other telemetry source available to us. In a 24/7 operations environment, you will be responsible for real-time monitoring, coordination, and incident response across critical electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems. Acting as the central point of visibility, you will identify anomalies, coordinate cross-functional response efforts, and drive rapid resolution to ensure maximum uptime, operational continuity, and safety across our infrastructure. This is a remote monitoring role. You will not be turning wrenches — you will be the reason the person turning the wrench knows where to go. - Conduct scheduled remote rounds each shift, reviewing and recording the health of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems across the fleet to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability. - Provide continuous monitoring of global data center infrastructure using Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS), DCIM, and all other available telemetry and observability platforms. - Monitor critical assets including UPS systems, standby generators and fuel systems, switchgear, PDUs, battery plant, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, air handlers, and fire suppression systems. - Baseline normal operating conditions and identify deviations, drift, and early-warning signatures in telemetry before they escalate into events. - Serve as the first responder for infrastructure alarms, triaging incidents and initiating response actions per SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs. - Escalate incidents promptly to on-site operations, engineering teams, and leadership based on defined escalation matrices. - Coordinate incident response activities across multiple teams and multiple sites to minimize risk to production environments. - Dispatch and remotely support on-site technicians, vendors, and contractors during events and planned maintenance, confirming work is performed in accordance with established practices and procedures. - Support root cause analysis (RCA) efforts by providing detailed timelines, logs, alarm histories, and incident documentation. - Act as a central communication hub, providing clear and accurate status updates during incidents and maintenance events. - Perform technical writing in support of the change management program, including event narratives, procedure feedback, and shift documentation. - Enforce adherence to change management processes and safety requirements within mission-critical environments. - Monitor and manage daily work requests and alarm queues to resolution within defined internal service levels. - Maintain detailed event logs and participate in structured shift handovers to ensure operational continuity across crews. - Make timely, high-quality decisions in high-pressure situations while maintaining a strong focus on safety, uptime, and operational excellence. Work Schedule: Our Command Center operates 24/7/365. This is a permanent night shift position on a 12.5-hour schedule. It does not rotate to days. - Shift: 12.5 hours, nights, with the shift scheduled to include a 30-minute handover overlap at each end of the night. - Rotation: A fixed two-week repeating pattern (2-2-3) with every other weekend off. Depending on crew assignment, you will work either: - Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday in week one; Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday in week two — or - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday in week one; Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday in week two. - Cycle: Three scheduled shifts in one week and four in the next, repeating. You will never work more than four shifts in a single week. - Days off: Every other weekend off, plus a four-day break built into each two-week cycle. - Holidays: The Command Center is staffed on holidays. Holiday coverage is part of the rotation. - Handover: Every shift begins and ends with a structured handover to the oncoming and outgoing crew. Punctuality is a safety requirement, not a preference. - On-site presence: This role is performed from the Command Center and requires on-site presence for the duration of each shift. This is a salaried, exempt position. Who You Are: - 2+ years of experience working in mission-critical environments (data centers, utilities, or industrial operations). - Foundational technical knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems. - Proven experience following and executing SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs in high-availability environments. - Proficiency with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and operational dashboards. - Experience in incident management, technical troubleshooting, and structured escalation. - Ability to interpret system telemetry, trend data, and alarm behavior to distinguish signal from noise. - Ability and willingness to work a permanent 12.5-hour night shift on a fixed two-week rotating pattern, including weekends and holidays, in a 24/7 operations environment. - Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills. - Must be able to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues. - Strong written communication — much of your work product is the written record of what happened and when. - Work is performed in a climate-controlled Command Center environment, primarily seated at a multi-monitor operator workstation. Preferred: - 4+ years of experience working in mission-critical environments - Prior experience in a hyperscale or large-scale data center environment. - Hands-on technical background in electrical (UPS, switchgear, generators) or mechanical (chillers, CRAC/CRAH units) systems. - Familiarity with specific BMS, EPMS, and DCIM platforms. - Experience working in a centralized Command Center or Network Operations Center (NOC). - Experience supporting multiple sites or a distributed fleet from a single point of visibility. - Prior experience working sustained night shift operations. - Relevant technical certifications (Data Center Operations, electrical/mechanical trades, or mission-critical facilities training). Wondering if you're a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match.
