We launched in 2019 on a simple bet: that enough readers were tired of outrage-driven media to pay for something better. They were. More than 40,000 members now fund our reporting directly, which means we answer to them rather than social media algorithms or traffic-driven demands. That model shapes how we sell. Our commercial business isn’t built on impression volume. Partnerships are customized around editorial verticals—energy, national security, family, faith, legal—and developed with organizations interested in reaching our audience of thoughtful and conscientious readers and listeners. ## About The Role The Dispatch is hiring a Commercial Operations Specialist to own the execution of our commercial partnerships. This is not a sales role. Once a partnership is signed, this person will own what comes next: campaign setup, creative and script workflow, delivery, reporting, and the day-to-day partner servicing that turns a first campaign into a renewal. Our commercial portfolio spans newsletter sponsorships, podcast advertising, SCOTUSblog, events, and more. Campaigns can range from one week to one year or longer, each with its own creative, schedule, delivery targets, and reporting requirements. Precision matters in this work, and it compounds. We’re looking for someone who can own it without day-to-day oversight—a well-organized candidate with a bias toward action who finds satisfaction in a well-built system and a quarter where nothing slipped. This role benefits from close, in-person collaboration with our team, and we have a strong preference for candidates who can work from our Washington, D.C. office (hybrid). We’ll consider exceptional remote candidates. ## What You'll Own Campaign execution - - Own the tracking systems that serve as the source of truth for active and upcoming campaigns - Maintain a live view of available inventory across our platforms, and flag conflicts early - Configure, launch, and quality-check campaigns in our advertising platforms - Monitor delivery, coordinating adjustments with internal teams and vendor partners Creative and production coordination - - Turn partner talking points into clean, on-brand advertising copy, and manage it through review and approval - Review creative before it goes live for accuracy and brand-safety standards - Serve as the coordination point between partners, our internal team, and outside vendors Reporting and reconciliation - - Monitor and evaluate partnership performance, providing regular insight and reporting to partners - Work with our finance team to reconcile campaign delivery against contracted commitments and prepare billing reports - Build post-campaign reporting that supports renewal conversations Partner servicing - - Act as the primary contact for a defined book of partners, holding a high standard of service across the full partnership lifecycle: assets, timelines, logistics, approvals, scheduling, and wrap materials - Manage product and talent logistics for endorsement-based campaigns - Own and improve the processes, trackers, and tooling that keep all of the above running Who We're Looking For ## What we're asking for - - Bachelor’s degree - One or two years in operations, campaign management, account coordination, project management, or a comparable detail-heavy role—ideally at a small or fast-moving organization. - Genuine comfort with detail work. A meaningful share of this job is precise, repetitive, and behind the scenes—and all of it is mission-critical. - The ability to hold many deadlines at once without dropping any of them, and to reset priorities when they shift. - A proactive, solutions-oriented approach. You’ll work closely with our team, but you’ll be trusted to run your book without close supervision. - Fluency with spreadsheets, and the ability to pick up new platforms quickly and on your own. - A client-focused instinct. Partners should come away feeling well served, and come back because of it. Helpful, but not required - - Familiarity with podcast advertising, digital advertising, or event sponsorship - Hands-on experience with ad-serving, podcast-hosting, or campaign-management platforms ## Benefits Health insurance, 401(k) match, disability coverage, equity participation, and additional standard benefits. How to Apply Click Apply and submit the following: - Resume - Cover letter. In addition to telling us about your experience, please address the following in your cover letter: Tell us about something you built or set up—a spreadsheet, a checklist, a filing convention, a standing agenda—that made a recurring task easier, for yourself or for other people. The Dispatch is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. ## About The Dispatch ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: The Dispatch is a subscription-based digital media company providing fact-driven news, analysis, and commentary on politics, policy, and culture from a conservative perspective. - **Entity Type**: Private (Subscription-based, bootstrapped in philosophy; aims to be profitable through reader revenue, not venture capital) - **Headquarters**: Washington, D.C., USA - **Founded**: 2019 - **Founders**: Steve Hayes, Jonah Goldberg, and Toby Stock ## Core Business - **Primary Industry**: Digital Media & Journalism - **Target Customers**: Engaged citizens (B2C) seeking thoughtful, fact-based conservative news and analysis; primarily a subscriber/member model. - **Mission Statement**: To provide fact-based reporting and commentary on politics, policy, and culture—informed by conservative principles—and to build a genuine community for thoughtful discussion, rejecting the clickbait and partisan boosterism prevalent in modern media. ## Products & Services - **The Dispatch Website**: The primary online publication featuring on-the-ground reporting, incisive analysis, and explanatory journalism. - **Newsletters**: A core product, offering ad-free, high-quality newsletters delivered directly to subscribers (e.g., *The Morning Dispatch*, *The G-File*). - **Podcasts**: A suite of popular podcasts (e.g., *The Remnant*, *Advisory Opinions*) that provide in-depth discussion and commentary. - **SCOTUSblog**: Acquired by The Dispatch in 2025, this is the leading independent blog devoted to comprehensive, unbiased coverage of the U.S. Supreme Court. - **Community & Events**: A robust membership program that fosters direct engagement between staff, writers, and readers, including virtual and in-person events. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly available (privately held). - **Key Metric**: Not publicly available.
