Our marketplace gathers the industry's best publishing professionals — the likes of Neil Gaiman's editor, Nora Roberts' book marketer, and GRRM’s cover designer. We’ve grown to a community of 5,000,000 authors, and transformed the way people write and publish their book. Want to hop on board and help us get to our next destination? Cool, keep reading! Job Description [Reedsy Learning](https://reedsy.com/learning) is our online publishing school, with over 50 courses and over 200,000 students to date. More recently, we introduced How to Write a Novel, a masterclass to help authors complete their novel in just 3 months. We’re looking for a Community Intern to assist the Reedsy Learning team with managing our community of writers, as well as promoting the course and events. You will learn about community building, email outreach, influencer campaigns, and growth marketing. In your internship, you will: - Identify and contact new leads for affiliate and influencer outreach; - Manage communication with our influencers and affiliates; - Engage with students and moderate chat spaces on our custom community app (Circle); - Help moderate live webinars; and - Generate ideas for introducing our course and events to new audiences. ## Requirements We’re looking for someone with: - Analytical mind; - Experience identifying audiences and targeting them with marketing campaigns; - Experience with community management; - Good understanding of Google Suite; - Strong writing skills; - Native-level English speaker; - Availability to work full-time (at least 35 hours per week) for 6 months. Bonus Points - Background in creative writing and/or growth marketing; - A desire to initiate and act on your own ideas; - Proven experience in managing communities and scaling acquisition for a startup or a fast-growing company; - Fluent in multiple languages. Reedsy welcomes applicants of all cultures and backgrounds; - A good dose of ambition, a willingness to learn, and a great sense of humor. ## Benefits - Work from home. Salary range: £14k – £26k ## About Reedsy ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Reedsy operates an online marketplace and suite of software tools connecting authors with freelance publishing professionals for editing, design, marketing, ghostwriting, and translation services. - **Entity Type**: Private (Bootstrapped / Grant-funded; last known funding was a $1.2M grant in 2016) - **Headquarters**: London, England, United Kingdom - **Founded**: 2014 - **Founders**: Ricardo Fayet, Matt Herron, Vincent Durand ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Book and Periodical Publishing / Marketplace for Professional Services - **Target customers**: B2C (primarily self-publishing and indie authors), B2B (publishers and publishing professionals seeking project work) - **Mission or purpose**: To give authors the tools and community they need to write, publish, and market high-quality books, while creating economic opportunities for the world’s best publishing professionals. ## Products & Services - **[Reedsy Marketplace](https://reedsy.com/)**: A curated platform where authors can browse profiles, request quotes, and hire vetted freelance editors, designers, marketers, ghostwriters, translators, and web designers. Only the top ~1% of applicants are accepted as professionals. - **[Reedsy Book Editor](https://reedsy.com/write)** (free tool): A browser-based writing and editing app designed for book-length manuscripts. - **[Reedsy Learning](https://blog.reedsy.com/learning/)**: Free, high-quality online courses and webinars for authors covering craft, publishing, and marketing topics. - **[Reedsy Discovery](https://reedsy.com/discovery)**: A review platform that connects indie authors with early readers and book reviewers. - **[Reedsy Prompts](https://blog.reedsy.com/creative-writing-prompts/)**: A community writing prompt tool and short story competition hub. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly available (private company; no known recent funding round setting a valuation; last funding was a $1.2M grant in 2016) - **Key Metric**: Annual revenue estimated in the range of $5M–$25M (per LinkedIn company data); community of over **5 million authors** and publishing professionals. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Investors include Horizon 2020 (EU grant), DN Capital, Seedcamp, Kima Ventures, and Benjamin Yoskovitz. - **Growth Signals**: - Headcount grew **14.9% YoY** to **371 employees** (per LinkedIn, as of mid-2025). - Operates in **33 countries**, with major hubs in the US (40% of staff), UK (13%), Canada, Spain, and Portugal. - LinkedIn followers exceed **96,000**, up ~6.8% year-over-year. - Revenue range of $5M–$25M for a fully remote, relatively lean lean marketplace places them in a healthy, profitable-looking growth stage for a private company. ## Competitive Advantages - **Curated, high-quality talent pool**: Accepts only ~1% of freelance applicants, ensuring a high bar for quality comparable to top publishing houses. - **Full tool ecosystem**: Unlike simple directories, Reedsy provides proprietary tools (writing, collaboration, file sharing, payments, project protection) that keep authors and professionals inside the platform. - **Strong brand and community trust**: With millions of authors and thousands of professionals, the marketplace has significant network effects, making it harder for new entrants to compete. - **Remote-native culture**: Fully distributed from the start, with a deep understanding of how to build and scale remote creative teams. ## Strategic Focus - **Expanding the marketplace** to new professional categories (e.g., ghostwriting, marketing) and to more international markets (33+ countries). - **Deepening author education** via Reedsy Learning courses and Discovery reviews to fuel author self-sufficiency and community engagement. - **Refining AI/automation** tools to assist authors while protecting the value of human professionals (the company is cautious about full automation in favor of human creative quality). ## Why Work Here - **Full remote forever**: Reedsy is a fully distributed company with a team of around 50 core employees (plus a global network of freelancers). Team members work from 15+ countries. - **Flexible lifestyle**: Co-founders have publicly embraced location-independent work (e.g., co-founder Matt spending months living and working from the Alps). - **Diverse, global team**: Recruits talent from top publishers (Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Macmillan) and freelancers globally. - **High employee satisfaction**: Employer rating of **4.1/5** on LinkedIn across categories including Work-Life (4.1), Culture (4.0), Career Opportunities (4.2), and Compensation (3.9). - **Flat, autonomous culture**: Small core team allows for significant ownership and impact. Roles span design, editorial, marketing, customer experience, and engineering. ## Sources 1. [Reedsy.com](https://reedsy.com/) 2.
