You will own a $50K/month expansion number from Day 1, hunting upsell and cross-sell inside your book of business while protecting it through healthy adoption and on-time renewals. This is not a support role, retention is table stakes; net-new expansion revenue is how you win. You will own the post-sale customer journey from onboarding and activation through adoption, renewals, and expansion, serving as a trusted advisor who ensures customers realize measurable value from the platform. You will partner closely with product and support to keep accounts healthy, but your calendar, your pipeline, and your comp are built around growth. Base Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 Variable Comp: $50,000 – $100,000 tied to expansion performance (uncapped commission, no ceiling on top performers) Total comp: $134,000 – $200,000 Benefits: Medical insurance, Dental, Vision, 401k + 3% match, Life insurance, equity Travel: Once a quarter to the San Francisco headquarters ## What We Are Looking For Required Qualifications - A documented track record of carrying and hitting a sales quota, 3+ years in a closing role (AE, expansion/growth AE, quota-carrying account manager, or similar). Come ready to talk numbers: quota, attainment, and deal sizes. - Proven ability to source, build, and close expansion and upsell revenue in a book of business, not just manage relationships or renew. - A hunter’s mentality: comfortable driving urgency, handling objections, negotiating, and asking for the close. - Strong discovery and value-selling skills, you can turn a product conversation into a business case and a business case into signed expansion. - Comfort operating against a monthly number, with the self-direction to manage your own pipeline and forecast accurately. - Proficiency with CRM and sales tooling (e.g., HubSpot) to run pipeline, forecast, and track expansion. - Excellent communication and executive presence, you can hold a value conversation with a firm owner or managing partner. - Proficient with collaboration tools like Slack, Google Workspace, and Fathom. ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience selling or expanding in tax, accounting, or financial services. - Background in high-growth SaaS, fintech, or startup environments carrying an expansion or new-business quota from Seed Stage to Series A+ - Experience selling technical or AI-powered products to professional-services buyers. - Familiarity with usage and health data to spot and prioritize the highest-propensity expansion accounts. ## How We Define Success in This Role A strong Customer Success Manager in this role: - Consistently hits $50K/month in expansion revenue by identifying, building, and closing upsell and cross-sell opportunities across their book. - Builds and manages a rigorous expansion pipeline with accurate forecasting, owning their number and knowing their path to it every week. - Prospects within existing accounts, finds untapped potential, and builds repeatable systems to execute at scale. - Protects and grows the book by driving adoption, proving value, and renewing accounts ahead of cycle. - Builds trusted relationships through regular check-ins, success planning, and strategic business reviews that turn healthy accounts into growing ones.
