Everything a developer touches on the way in, the docs, the tutorials, the integration guides, the code examples, the deep-dive blog posts, the Discord, the talk they saw at a meetup, is your surface. Your job is to make Blaxel the platform developers reach for and the community they want to be part of. This is a founding, hands-on role today with a path to build the function tomorrow. You think like a mini-founder: you own the outcome, you set the playbook for how we reach developers, and you don't wait for someone to hand you a ticket. ## WHAT YOU'LL DO Working with the cofounders and leveraging AI as much as possible, you'll: - Write authoritative deep-dive blog posts on the hard problems we solve: latency, stateful serverless, sandboxing, enterprise agent architecture, benchmarks. Interview the engineers who built it so each one is technically true, not surface-level. - Own the docs. Keep them accurate, clear, and current with everything we ship. - Ship integration guides, tutorials, and runnable code examples that show how a feature works and how to use it well. The best DevRel is a repo you can clone and run in five minutes. - Run and grow the community on Discord and beyond. Answer the hard questions, turn users into advocates, and route what you learn back to product and content. - Represent Blaxel at events. Speak, show up, and run community events that bring the right developers to us. - Set up the AI-powered systems and automation that let one person ship content at the pace of a team. - Measure what content and channels drive signups and adoption. Double down on what works, kill what doesn't. ## WHO YOU ARE - Builder first. You read code and ship working examples. Hand you an unfamiliar feature or a corner of the codebase you've never seen, and you'll dig in, with AI as your accelerant, until you understand it well enough to build on it and explain it plainly. This is the one thing we won't compromise on. The rest we can help you grow into. - Super autonomous. You don't wait for a hand to hold. You find the subject-matter expert, ask the sharp questions, and figure out how something works and how developers will get the most out of it. - A genuinely good technical writer. You take a complex topic and make it clear, engaging, and convincing without dumbing it down. Developers trust your writing because it's accurate and it respects them. - Fluent in the stack. Ideally, you know AI infra, containers, sandboxes, VMs, the tradeoffs between the major clouds and neoclouds. You're actively curious about AI and where the ecosystem is heading, because that's the audience you're writing for. - AI-native. You use AI as a force multiplier on real technical understanding, not a substitute for it. You can explain why something works, not just what an LLM said about it, and you wire up automation so the boring parts run themselves. - Comfortable on stage and in the thread. You like being present in the community, whether that's a Discord DM at 10pm, a conference talk, or a viral technical thread. You represent the brand well because you actually care about the developers you're talking to. WHY US? - You'll write the playbook. The playbook for doing developer relations when half your developers are AI agents using the product directly has yet to be written! You'll build it. - Fast growth: We're growing extremely fast, and a substantial proportion of our revenue already comes from AI agents directly using us. We have strong customer love and close to zero churn on the product. - Direct impact & autonomy: You'll own how developers discover and adopt Blaxel, and the community around it, end to end, with the full backing of the founders. - Tier-1 backing: We're repeat founders (sold our previous company to Europe’s largest cloud) and backed by the best in the business (First Round, YC), giving us the resources and network to build a generation-defining company. - Competitive compensation: We offer a top-tier salary and comprehensive benefits, as well as some equity. ## About Blaxel ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: Infrastructure for autonomous agents / Cloud computing for AI workloads - **Target customers**: B2B – AI startups, scaleups, and enterprises building autonomous agents, coding agents, and background AI services - **Mission or purpose statement**: “Infrastructure for autonomous agents” – enabling AI companies to ship agents instead of reinventing infrastructure. ## Products & Services - **Blaxel Platform**: A session-first, stateful runtime that provides isolated microVMs (sandboxes) for AI agents. Key features include: - **Compute**: Persistent sandboxes that scale to zero after 1s of inactivity and resume in under 25ms with full memory state. - **Networking**: Static IPs, outbound control (firewalling), proxy routing for secrets, and a model gateway co-located with agents. - **Storage**: Agent Drive (distributed filesystem for multi-agent collaboration), Volumes (durable mounts), and in-memory root filesystem with zero data retention. - **Security & Compliance**: SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001 certified; individual microVMs per workload; data wiped on sandbox destruction. - **Scale**: Supports up to 50,000+ sandboxes and 512 TB of volume storage. - **SDK**: TypeScript-first SDK (Python at parity), Docker images, MCP servers, and batch job orchestration. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed - **Key Metric**: Total funding – $7.3M (seed round, led by First Round Capital) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: First Round Capital (lead), Y Combinator (backed via batch P25/Spring 2025) - **Growth Signals**: Processing billions of requests; customers include Webflow and HumanBehavior; team size of 8; YC batch Spring 2025; actively hiring for engineering roles. ## Competitive Advantages - Ultra-low latency (25ms cold-start resume) with persistent state across restarts and redeploys. - Enterprise-grade security compliance (SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001) out of the box. - Perpetual sandboxes that stay on standby indefinitely without cold-start orchestration. - Built-in networking primitives (static IPs, proxy routing, model gateway) reduce agent infrastructure complexity. - TypeScript-first SDK and seamless MCP server support. ## Strategic Focus - Continue to build the foundational infrastructure layer for autonomous agents, moving beyond ephemeral execution to stateful, scalable, and secure agent runtimes. - Expand enterprise adoption and compliance certifications while maintaining developer experience and low latency. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: Small, high-impact team (8 people) working on cutting-edge AI infrastructure. Backed by top-tier investors (First Round Capital, Y Combinator). - **Remote/Hybrid/Office**: Located in San Francisco; likely in-office or hybrid (not explicitly stated, but YC jobs list San Francisco as location). - **Notable Perks/Engineering Culture**: Ownership of critical infrastructure components; exposure to high-scale agent workloads; salary range for roles like CEO & Co-Founder listed at $175K – $250K (indicating competitive compensation for early team members). Roles include Site Reliability Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, and Fullstack Design Engineer. ## Sources 1. [blaxel.ai](https://blaxel.ai/) 2.
