Our Higgs models listen, speak, and see. Higgs Realtime is a speech-to-speech API with tool calling and support for 100+ languages, and it is drop-in compatible with the OpenAI Realtime API. Higgs TTS 3 is an expressive, open-weight text-to-speech model with zero-shot voice cloning. Higgs Avatar turns a single image into a streaming, talking video. Thousands of developers already build on our open models on GitHub and Hugging Face. We are hiring our first Developer Relations Manager to own the developer journey, from first hearing about Higgs to shipping a production voice agent on it. This is a hands-on role. You will build with our models, explain them clearly, find where developers get stuck, and work with research and engineering to fix it. You should be as comfortable writing Python against a streaming WebSocket API as you are writing a tutorial, triaging a GitHub issue, or demoing a voice agent live on stage. You will start as a senior individual contributor with real ownership, and you'll have room to build a team as the program grows. The role is based at our Santa Clara HQ on a hybrid schedule, with at least three days a week in the office. Expect up to 20% travel for conferences, hackathons, and partner events. ## What You'll Do - Make the first hour great. Own the quickstarts, notebooks, sample apps, and API walkthroughs that take a developer from an API key to first audio in minutes, and then on to a production-quality application - Build reference applications that show what Higgs makes possible: real-time voice and avatar agents, STT + LLM + TTS pipelines, multilingual and expressive speech, streaming low-latency apps, and drop-in migrations from the OpenAI Realtime API - Own our ecosystem integrations, including Pipecat, LiveKit, Twilio and SIP telephony, and SGLang and vLLM. Take each one from first prototype to maintained, documented, and announced - Be our technical voice in public. Write blog posts, record demo videos and livestreams, give talks, and run workshops and hackathons - Show up where developers are, on GitHub, Hugging Face, X, Reddit, and LinkedIn. Answer questions, triage issues on our open-source repos, and build a community around Boson AI, including a home for it - Help developers make good tradeoffs: quality vs. latency vs. cost, open weights vs. hosted API, self-hosting vs. managed, and how to handle streaming, tool calling, turn-taking, and multilingual behavior - Be the voice of developers inside Boson. Turn recurring friction into prioritized, tracked fixes with product, research, and engineering. That friction includes unclear docs, missing SDKs, API rough edges, deployment blockers, pricing questions, and model limitations - Make every launch land. Own the developer side of model and API releases: launch-day docs, samples, release notes, demos, and community follow-through - Define and report the metrics that show what is working, such as time to first audio, activation, integration adoption, and community growth What Success Looks Like in Your First Six Months - A developer who is new to Boson can go from signup to a working real-time voice agent in under 15 minutes, and you have the data to show it - A gallery of maintained reference apps and integration recipes covers the most common voice-agent stacks - There is a steady publishing cadence and an active community channel where developers get fast, accurate answers - A regular developer-feedback report drives product and engineering priorities, and its top friction points are fixed ## Minimum Qualifications - 5+ years in developer relations, developer advocacy, solutions engineering, or software engineering, with a public track record of technical content, open-source work, or talks - Strong Python, plus working comfort with JavaScript or TypeScript, REST and WebSocket APIs, and async and streaming code - Hands-on experience building and shipping applications on AI APIs or models, such as LLM, speech, or vision - Clear, engaging technical writing and speaking, with examples you can share - The judgment to prioritize across content, community, and product feedback, and to work independently in a fast-moving startup - Ability to use agentic AI efficiently in your work, so you can deliver at superhuman level. ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience with real-time voice or audio: WebRTC, telephony, audio codecs, voice activity and turn detection, or voice-agent frameworks like Pipecat or LiveKit Agents - Familiarity with speech models (TTS and ASR), voice cloning, or speech-quality evaluation - Experience self-hosting models on GPUs with SGLang, vLLM, or similar serving stacks - Experience maintaining open-source projects, including issue triage and community management - Experience launching developer products, running hackathons, or building developer programs such as credits, ambassadors, or office hours - An existing presence in the AI developer community - Fluency in a language besides English. Our models speak 100+ of them Boson AI is building AI that people can simply talk to. If you love building with new models and helping other developers do the same, we'd love to hear from you. Please include links to things you have built, written, or presented, such as repos, demos, blog posts, or talks. Boson AI is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic. ## About Boson AI ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Boson AI builds real-time, audio-native AI models and agentic systems for natural, conversational voice interactions with machines. - **Entity Type**: Private (funding not disclosed) - **Headquarters**: Santa Clara, California, United States (also Toronto, Canada office) - **Founded**: 2023 - **Founders**: Dr. Alex Smola (Co-Founder & CEO/CSO), Dr. Mu Li (Co-Founder & CEO/CTO), Yi Zhu (Co-Founder, departed May 2026), Yizhi Liu (Co-Founder) ## Core Business - **Primary industries**: Conversational AI, Voice AI, Multimodal AI, Enterprise AI infrastructure - **Target customers**: B2B – enterprises deploying voice agents, real-time customer service, and AI-powered communication workflows - **Mission**: “Make communication with machines as easy, natural and fun as talking to a human.” ## Products & Services - **Higgs Realtime**: An end-to-end, audio-native real-time speech-to-speech model for enterprise voice agents.
