This is a 1099, fully remote engagement for a US-based independent contractor who can step into a fast-paced, multi-client environment and deliver polished work against tight deadlines. Our digital campaigns support a portfolio of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects in rural communities, where building public support is essential to getting projects permitted and built. The work is varied, cyclical, and deadline-driven: multi-state social listening and opposition monitoring, project reporting, Facebook comment moderation, paid campaign builds and optimization across platforms like Meta and Google, and organic content calendars, each with its own client-specific formatting, sourcing, and messaging requirements. Assignments are made on a project-by-project basis, especially during high-volume periods, so the ideal contractor can pick up a defined deliverable, meet its requirements and deadline, and work independently from the start. Scope of Work & Services - When assigned, produce deliverables within the monthly multi-state social listening and opposition monitoring cycle (currently about ten states), and/or separate weekly project reports, with each deliverable conforming to its specified template, formatting, and citation requirements, including permalinked sourcing and disclosed-monitoring purpose statements. - Cover Facebook comment moderation and response across assigned project pages for the duration of an assignment, drafting client-approved responses and managing comment filtering through moderation platforms (e.g., NapoleonCat). - Build, launch, and/or optimize assigned paid Meta, Google, YouTube, StackAdapt, and streaming campaigns across lead generation, awareness, geofencing, and search lanes, including ad copy iteration, disclaimer and compliance verification, and cost-per-lead and performance analysis with transparent methodology. - When assigned, develop monthly organic content calendars per project, drafting copy to client-specific SEO, tone, and messaging conventions, and routing through content-approval tools (e.g., HeyOrca). - When assigned, analyze performance dashboards (e.g., Looker Studio). - Support assigned letter-of-support and advocacy campaigns, including Speak4 landing pages, RSVP and event promotion, and letter-of-support tracking. ## Minimum Qualifications - 3+ years in digital advocacy, social media management, or public affairs, ideally in a fast-paced multi-client setting. - Hands-on experience building and reporting on Meta and Google paid campaigns, including targeting, disclaimers, and cost-per-lead analysis. - Proven ability to run social listening and opposition monitoring and to write clear, structured reports at volume under recurring deadlines. - Exceptional writing and editing discipline, with the ability to follow exacting, client-specific formatting and sourcing rules. - Able to manage many concurrent projects independently in a remote environment, with proactive project-management hygiene. ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience in energy or infrastructure, or in a politically sensitive, regulated public affairs environment. - Familiarity with community engagement and organized opposition dynamics in rural communities. - Experience with NapoleonCat or similar moderation tools, Agility PR or comparable media monitoring, Looker Studio, Speak4, monday.com, and HeyOrca. - Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate research, report production, and content workflows. This role is open to US-based independent contractors who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Additional Details - Contract Type: Independent Contractor (1099) - Compensation: $50 to $70 per hour. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as (but not limited to) location, level, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. How to apply Please submit your resume, a cover letter, and a portfolio of relevant work. In your cover letter, we'd love to learn what differentiates you, why you're interested in contracting with Bantam Communications, and a bit about the digital public affairs or advocacy work you've delivered. For your portfolio, please share 2 to 4 work samples relevant to this role. We care less about volume than about seeing directly comparable work. Helpful examples include: - Paid social or search campaign work (e.g., Meta, Google), with results or performance reporting where possible - A social listening or opposition-monitoring report - Organic social content or a content calendar - Comment moderation or community management examples - Advocacy or grassroots campaign work (e.g., landing pages, RSVP and event promotion, or letter-of-support generation and tracking) Please redact or omit anything client-confidential. A link to an online portfolio, shared folder, or PDF is all we need. If you don't have a formal portfolio, links to live work or short case summaries are welcome. ## About Bantam Communications Bantam is a specialized public affairs firm accelerating the deployment of advanced energy infrastructure across the United States.
