We believe the solution isn’t simply to build housing faster or cheaper. It’s to fundamentally reinvent the building itself. By bringing together advanced design, engineering, manufacturing, and technology, we’ve created Calypso—a revolutionary new apartment building designed to deliver an exceptional living experience at a fraction of the cost and in dramatically less time than conventional construction. Backed by institutional leaders including Lennar, we’re turning an entirely new approach to housing into reality. And we’re just getting started. ## The Role You own everything on site for Calypso projects in the Northeast, from mobilization to certificate of occupancy: schedule, budget, safety, quality and the inspector relationship. You'll build our in-house construction management function from scratch. ## What You’ll Do - Lead the Northeast field team. You inherit a working team, raise its standard, and hire where we need depth. - Deliver every project. From mobilization to certificate of occupancy, you own schedule, budget, safety and quality, including cranes, deliveries, subcontractors and inspections. - Be the building department's first call. You build the relationships and resolve code issues on site. - Make the product easier to build. You give our plant and engineers direct field feedback on what installs cleanly and what doesn't, and it goes into the next design revision. - Build the tools that run the field. You work with our engineering and software people to develop new technology (tracking, scheduling, QC, installation guidance) that makes crews faster and sites more predictable. You say what the field needs, you test it on live projects, and you drive adoption. - Write the playbook. You turn each project's lessons into checklists, install sequences and quality gates that any crew in any region can run. - Own the numbers. You hold the field budget and forecast, and you flag variances early. - Run safety and QC. You build and enforce programs that make a safe site and a clean inspection the norm. ## What You Bring - 12+ years in ground-up multifamily construction, including senior superintendent or PM time on many mid-size (roughly 20–150 unit) projects - A record of on-time, on-budget delivery you can quantify - Deep knowledge of means and methods, MEP/envelope coordination, inspections and Northeast codes (NY/NJ/CT a plus) - Experience hiring and managing field teams and subcontractors - Comfort building better tools when they fall short - Direct, written communication At Vessel, we’re not interested in doing things the way they’ve always been done. We’re building an entirely new way to create housing—and that requires rethinking everything, including how buildings are delivered in the field. We’re looking for someone with the imagination to challenge convention, the intellect to solve complex problems, and the tenacity to turn ambitious ideas into reality. This isn’t an opportunity to manage construction as usual. It’s an opportunity to help reinvent an industry—and make extraordinary housing attainable for millions of people. If that sounds like the kind of challenge you’ve been looking for, we’d love to meet you. ## About Vessel Technologies ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Vessel Technologies designs, manufactures, and distributes revolutionary multifamily apartment buildings engineered to lower construction costs, reduce risk, and deliver sustainable, technology-enhanced homes. - **Entity Type**: Private (Startup/VC-backed) - **Headquarters**: New York, New York, USA - **Founded**: 2017 - **Founders**: Neil Rubler ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: Real Estate, Construction Technology (PropTech/ConTech), Multifamily Housing - **Target customers**: B2B – Landowners, developers, and operators who want to build multifamily housing (market rate, workforce, student, senior, and affordable/income-restricted).
