Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, this role is critical in ensuring electrical safety, reliability, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle - from concept and design to commissioning and operation. This function works closely with design consultants, contractors, and internal teams to deliver best-in-class electrical systems across Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) networks (non-proficient High Voltage support may also be required to support the team). Cross functional activities are required in three main domains: “Datacenter Core Systems”, “Buildings” and “Substations”. Responsibilities: Design & Engineering - Support the design, review, and validation of electrical systems for data centers, covering LV,MV and HV distribution networks (proficient in LV and MV).. - Participate in the development of single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable routing, and protection schemes. - Collaborate with design consultants and vendors to ensure technical specifications meet project and operational requirements. - Assist in defining design standards, technical specifications, and best practices for scalability and energy efficiency. Project Execution - Provide technical input and supervision during procurement, installation, and commissioning phases. - Review contractor designs, material submittals, and method statements for compliance with design intent and regulations. - Conduct site inspections and testing (FAT, SAT, and commissioning). - Support troubleshooting and resolution of electrical issues during construction and operation. Operations & Maintenance Support - Assist in the transition from construction to operations, including documentation and training handovers. - Contribute to the development of maintenance procedures and electrical safety protocols. - Participate in root-cause analyses for electrical incidents or performance issues. - Ensure all work complies with IEC standards, local regulations, and company safety policies. Cross-functional Collaboration - Work closely with mechanical, civil, and controls engineering teams to ensure systems integration and performance optimization. - Support sustainability initiatives, including power usage effectiveness (PUE) optimization and renewable integration. - Liaise with utility providers and grid operators as needed for MV connections and upgrades.
