The firm emphasizes acting preemptively rather than reactively in an evolving security landscape. ## Products & Services - **Advisory Services**: Bespoke security assessments, policy/procedure development, and organizational training to proactively mitigate risks. - **Vulnerability Assessments**: Benchmarking and analysis of an organization's unique risks with concrete, actionable recommendations to improve overall security posture. - **Security Systems & Technology**: Agnostic system security evaluations and project management for access control and infrastructure fortification — they do not push manufacturer products, but rather provide vendor-neutral guidance. - **Global Security Operations**: Consulting and staffing support to help clients develop and operate Global Security Operations Centers (GSOCs), leveraging worldwide relationships. - **Executive Recruiting Services**: Talent placement for security staff, using the firm's industry relationships to find candidates that fit each organization's specific needs. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed (private company) - **Key Metric**: Not publicly available (revenue and funding not disclosed) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Not applicable — no disclosed investors; the firm cites "worldwide relationships" as a core resource for global operations - **Growth Signals**: Active hiring across multiple roles (GSOC Analyst, Security Systems Project Manager, APAC Security Systems Project Manager) indicates expansion in both US and APAC regions (Hyderabad, India). The firm cites evolving security threats (e.g., Las Vegas and San Bernardino shootings, increased natural disasters, Boston Marathon bombing) as drivers of broader corporate security demand. ## Competitive Advantages - **Consultant-first approach**: Unlike manufacturer's representatives, BGI explicitly does not push products — they provide agnostic, vendor-neutral strategies and solutions. - **Customization and cultural fit**: Emphasis on tailoring security programs to each client's unique culture and operational style rather than applying one-size-fits-all frameworks. - **Global reach with boutique service**: Combines international security operations capability with individualized, relationship-driven service. - **Full-spectrum coverage**: From high-level strategy and policy to hands-on project management, GSOC staffing, and executive recruiting — a one-stop security partner. - **Contrarian/inquisitive culture**: The firm's stated value of "contrarian leadership" drives innovation and pushes team members to challenge convention. ## Strategic Focus - **Proactive security modernization**: Helping clients replace ineffective legacy policies with forward-looking security strategies that address contemporary challenges (active shooter events, climate-driven disasters, technological change). - **Global operations expansion**: Growing its Global Security Operations Center practice, including APAC presence with hiring in Hyderabad. - **Cross-sector tailoring**: Crafting industry-specific yet scalable solutions that balance risk and global market standards. - **Balancing innovation with affordability**: Delivering enterprise-based, scalable solutions that remain cost-effective for clients. ## Why Work Here - **Value-driven culture**: The company explicitly prioritizes "personality over resume," independence, autonomy, and over-communication — a deliberately flat, collaborative environment. - **Learning-oriented mindset**: BGI treats every project as a learning experience and emphasizes direct feedback and thoughtful communication for continuous improvement. - **Meaningful work**: Team members work on security challenges tied to real-world events (workplace violence, natural disasters, terrorism) with a mission to keep companies and employees safe. - **Flexible work arrangements**: Open roles include hybrid options (e.g., APAC Security Systems Project Manager in Hyderabad) alongside on-site positions in Los Angeles and San Jose, suggesting a mix of work models. - **Global exposure**: Opportunities to work across international security operations and diverse client cultures. - **Inclusive recruiting**: BGI states it recruits and retains talent from all backgrounds and perspectives; the company also uses AI-assisted recruiting tools to support application review (with human final decisions). ## Sources 1.
