We have offices located in downtown Greenville and downtown Clemson. We began life as a bootstrapped software startup, and have always been focused on building products our customers love. Today, we're part of the Knight-Swift family of companies, (Knight-Swift is a Fortune 500 company) which has allowed us to keep our focus on building world-class software products for the transportation industry. Eleos is hiring several new teammates to test our mobile and web software products at our Clemson office.  The individual we want to hire will make few assumptions, take little for granted, and “measure twice and cut once”. If testing and trying to break what our awesome developers create sounds interesting to you, then please keep reading. If you are bored reading this already, then you’re probably not a good fit. You will join a fun crew in Clemson, who works hard and enjoys a fierce ping-pong game in the office. You will be expected to be tough on our products  and critical of system issues, but incredibly pleasant with your teammates. Assuring the quality of our products is very important to us as a fast-growing company. If you don't already know how to test code or follow test plans, that's perfectly okay. For this position, we are excited to help you learn by providing you on-the-job training! You might be a good fit for this role and our company if you say, “that’s me!” to each of the following: - I cannot ignore mistakes. I understand that not everyone defines "mistake" the same way... but still, I cannot ignore a mistake. - There is right and there is wrong. - I think work can be "wrong" without thinking that the person who did that work is "wrong." - People ask me to proofread because they know I will catch everything that might even be considered to be an error. If you have actually done any of the following, even for a school project, please tell us: - Software or system testing - Software development of any kind - Writing documentation of any kind In Summary: This Software Tester is responsible for testing our mobile and web applications by executing test cases and clearly documenting the results of testing. This position works collaboratively with other testers and developers. Minimum Skills and Competencies: - Strong work ethic with documented work history - Must provide your own laptop and be proficient at using it - Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills - Must have strong attention for detail - Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to interact with development team - Ability to escalate issues appropriately - Be able to work as a 1099 (contractor) - Be able to work part-time with the potential for more hours and the opportunity to use our Clemson office Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Follow detailed steps towards the accurate and efficient execution of assigned test cases - Provide input on improvement opportunities for test cases - Ability to learn and understand and follow established QA procedures - Quickly learn and understand how the programs, products, and systems we use interact - Provide detailed written documentation when results of testing differ from expected outcome - Be able to follow up with the development team on defect status - Contribute to a positive work environment fostering the values of initiative and accountability Desired Skills: - Be able to pick up new technology and concepts quickly - Be passionate about quality and technology - Have a knack at finding edge cases, bugs, flaws, gaps etc. in systems, programs, and processes - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization - Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines ## About Eleos Technologies ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Eleos Technologies provides a platform for trucking fleets to build custom mobile driver apps that consolidate dispatch, payroll, compliance, and communication into a single, programmable experience. - **Entity Type**: Private (subsidiary of Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings, Inc., acquired February 2021) - **Headquarters**: Phoenix, Arizona, United States (also lists Greenville, SC in some sources; QA & Support office in Clemson, SC) - **Founded**: 2011 - **Founders**: Kevin Survance and Ryan Crum ## Core Business - **Primary industries**: Truck Transportation, Fleet Management Technology, Mobile Enterprise Software - **Target customers**: B2B – trucking fleets (carriers) of all sizes, from small operators to large enterprises - **Mission / purpose**: To help carriers create custom mobile apps that give drivers a unified, productive, and satisfying workday experience, while eliminating reliance on rigid in-cab telematics alone. ## Products & Services - **Eleos Platform (Custom Driver App)**: A no-code / low-code platform that lets fleets build, deploy, and update a branded mobile app for their drivers. Includes pre-built components for dispatch, payroll, document scanning, HOS reviews, training, messaging, and more. Runs on iOS and Android. (SaaS + configurable software) - **Drive Axle**: A standalone smartphone scanning app for freight documents (bills of lading, proofs of delivery) that integrates with backend systems. (SaaS) - **OpenCab Protocol**: An open, app-to-app communication protocol designed to unify commercial trucking apps (ELDs, sensors, cameras) so they work seamlessly together. (Industry standard / open protocol) ## Market Standing - **Valuation / Market Cap**: Not publicly disclosed (company is private and owned by Knight-Swift) - **Key Metric**: Annual Revenue ~$14M (est., as of most recent data); Headcount ~45 employees - **Notable Investors / Partners**: Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings (parent company since 2021); serves some of the world’s largest trucking fleets - **Growth Signals**: Headcount decreased ~8.5% YoY (likely post-acquisition streamlining); 1 active job posting (Entry-level Software Tester); continues to maintain and expand platform with new pre-built components; OpenCab protocol gaining industry adoption ## Competitive Advantages - **Only programmable driver-facing mobile platform** – no cookie-cutter approach; fleets can tailor the app to their exact workflows without writing mobile code from scratch. - **Deep domain expertise** – claims to have built more custom mobile apps for truck drivers than any other company, with knowledge of what works (and what doesn’t). - **Pre-built component library** – dozens of snap-in configurable modules (document scanning, trailer tracking, payroll settlements, etc.) tested by thousands of drivers, reducing development risk. - **Open standard (OpenCab)** – promotes interoperability across ELDs, sensors, and other in-cab devices, creating network effects and reducing vendor lock-in. ## Strategic Focus - Continue to enhance the Eleos platform with new components and integrations, enabling fleets to consolidate more driver tasks into a single app. - Drive adoption of the OpenCab protocol to unify the trucking technology ecosystem. - Support Knight-Swift’s broader technology strategy while serving external customers (the platform is offered to fleets beyond the parent company). ## Why Work Here - **Remote/Hybrid flexibility** – job postings include remote roles (Senior iOS Engineer) and hybrid roles in Clemson, SC (Software Tester). Multiple offices across the US. - **Engineering culture** – described as having a “strong bias for open products,” “programmable by clients,” and a belief that “no cookie-cutters” are acceptable. Emphasis on innovation and reliability. - **Work-life balance** – employer rating 4.2/5 (24 reviews) with Work-Life at 4.7, Culture at 4.4. Team of ~45 people, fostering a close-knit environment. - **Perks & vibe** – team interests include cooking, learning, table tennis. Company values: keeping promises, exceptional quality, making a difference for drivers. - **Career development** – opportunities to work on mission-critical apps used by thousands of drivers; exposure to the full stack of modern mobile and backend technologies. ## Sources 1.
