Voyager Technologies is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Training Specialist to develop, deliver, and continuously improve safety training programs supporting our energetic materials, explosives, chemical processing, and advanced manufacturing operations in Pueblo, Colorado. This role combines classroom instruction with hands-on field engagement. The EHS Training Specialist will work closely with operations, engineering, manufacturing, and EHS teams to ensure employees understand regulatory requirements, recognize workplace hazards, and consistently apply safe work practices in high-hazard environments. The position is based onsite in Pueblo, Colorado. In this role, the essential functions are: In this role, the essential functions are: - Develop, implement, and maintain EHS training programs supporting manufacturing, chemical processing, energetic materials, explosives, hazardous materials, and laboratory operations. - Deliver instructor-led, hands-on, and refresher training for employees, contractors, and leaders. - Conduct new-hire safety orientation and site-specific EHS onboarding. - Develop training materials, presentations, procedures, job aids, assessments, and other learning resources. - Deliver training related to OSHA requirements, hazardous materials, explosive safety, emergency response, personal protective equipment, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space, and other applicable safety programs. - Support training requirements associated with ATF/BATFE, DOT/PHMSA, OSHA, DoD explosives safety standards, and other applicable federal, state, and local requirements. - Partner with subject matter experts to develop technical training for energetic materials, propellants, oxidizers, specialty chemicals, and other high-hazard processes. - Evaluate employee understanding and practical application of training through observations, assessments, field verification, and coaching. - Conduct or support Job Hazard Analyses, risk assessments, workplace inspections, and other hazard-identification activities. - Participate in incident investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and lessons-learned training. - Maintain accurate training records, qualification documentation, certifications, and compliance records. - Monitor regulatory and operational changes and update training programs as requirements evolve. - Support internal and external audits and provide documentation demonstrating compliance with required training standards. - Assist with emergency preparedness, drills, hazardous-material response, and site safety initiatives. - Promote a strong safety culture by building trust with employees and reinforcing safe operating practices across all levels of the organization. - Perform other EHS responsibilities as required to support safe and compliant operations. If you don’t see the right role right now, [Join Our Talent Community](https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/voyagertechnologiesinc/jobs/4024393009) and stay connected as we continue to build what’s next. ## Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience; or - High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of progressive EHS, industrial safety, or safety-training experience. - Demonstrated experience developing and delivering EHS training in a manufacturing, industrial, chemical, aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated environment. - Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general industrial safety requirements. - Experience with hazardous materials safety and regulatory compliance. - Ability to communicate technical and regulatory information clearly to employees with varying levels of experience. - Strong presentation, facilitation, documentation, and organizational skills. - Ability to work effectively in both classroom and active manufacturing environments. - Ability to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and provide effective coaching and corrective guidance. ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting energetic materials, explosives, propellants, ordnance, chemicals, or other high-hazard manufacturing operations. - Knowledge of DoD 4145.26, ATF/BATFE explosives requirements, DOT/PHMSA hazardous materials regulations, and applicable explosives safety standards. - Experience supporting Process Safety Management (PSM) programs. - Experience developing emergency-response or hazardous-material training. - Experience conducting Job Hazard Analyses, risk assessments, safety inspections, or incident investigations. - OSHA 30-Hour certification or equivalent safety training. - Professional safety certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or equivalent. - Experience supporting aerospace, defense, chemical processing, or advanced manufacturing organizations. - Experience using Learning Management Systems or electronic training-record systems. Work Environment This position operates in both office/classroom settings and active industrial manufacturing environments. The role requires regular interaction with production equipment, chemical processes, energetic materials, and other high-hazard operations while following all required PPE and site safety procedures. The EHS Training Specialist must be comfortable spending significant time on the manufacturing floor and engaging directly with employees, technicians, engineers, supervisors, and leadership. Additional Requirements - Ability to work onsite in Pueblo, Colorado. - Ability to obtain and maintain any required site, state, or federal licenses, certifications, or authorizations associated with regulated materials or operations. - Must meet applicable U.S. export-control and regulatory requirements for the position.
