We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy. We are looking for an industrial equipment engineer to build, install, maintain and troubleshoot plasma reactors and other critical manufacturing equipment. You'll be working with an experienced team of process engineers, maintenance technicians locally and collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers in the US. Your goal will be to install new equipment in DF Spain, achieve maximum productivity for our production line through improving equipment capabilities and troubleshooting problems on the line. ## Responsibilities - Installing, commissioning, upgrading, and maintaining plasma reactors (CVD tool) and other critical manufacturing equipment. - Troubleshooting industrial control/electrical systems, including high-voltage power supplies, controllers, sensors, pumps, PLC’s, valves, and other devices. - Tracking and reporting on equipment uptime/downtime, root cause analysis, overall equipment efficiency, mean time between failure and the like. - Working with manufacturing technicians, plan and execute upgrades and retrofits to improve tool reliability and process capabilities. - Writing procedures and checklists, assisting and training maintenance. ## Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or similar engineering discipline. - 2+ years of hands-on engineering experience with manufacturing equipment. - Ability in project planning and management, with the capacity to thrive in multidisciplinary teams to solve complex problems. - Must be available to complete a training period in the United States. Additionally, this role involves ad-hoc short-term international travel to the U.S. to fulfill project needs. - Able to read, write, and speak both Spanish and English proficiently. Diamond Foundry believes in supporting our employees from the workplace to their personal and home life. We provide eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work. Perks include employee discounts to VRAI. All benefits offered are available starting your first day. Diamond Foundry is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law. ## About Diamond Foundry ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Diamond Foundry creates single-crystal diamond wafers and diamond-based semiconductors to solve the thermal limitations at the core of AI, electric vehicles, and wireless communications. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series B, multiple debt rounds) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, USA - **Founded**: 2013 - **Founders**: Engineers from Stanford, MIT, and Princeton (founded in 2012, incorporated 2013) ## Core Business - Primary industry: Semiconductor Manufacturing / Advanced Materials - Target customers: B2B, primarily enterprise partners in AI/cloud compute, electric vehicles, and 5G/6G wireless (chip makers, data center operators, automotive OEMs) - Mission or purpose: To put diamond behind every chip and eventually deliver diamond semiconductors with 17,200x the semiconductor merit of silicon. ## Products & Services - **[Diamond Wafer]**: Single-crystal diamond wafers designed to be placed behind high-power chips to solve thermal management.
