After years of perfecting her own clean routine, Jenni set out to create a new approach to self-care—one rooted in nature and inspired by the indulgence of the spa. Oak Essentials offers a meticulous edit of clean skincare, body care, and fragrance products designed to transform daily rituals into moments of elevated simplicity and luxury. Oak Essentials Malibu Spa is seeking a licensed esthetician to join the team at our new Malibu location. This is a treatment-room role centered on facials, with select body treatments, where you'll speak knowledgeably about the Oak Essentials products used in each service and help guests continue their results at home. We're looking for a candidate with a current esthetician license, hands-on treatment experience in both facials and some body work, a passion for clean, results-driven skincare, and the confidence to recommend products as a natural extension of the service. This role suits someone who thrives in an intimate, high-touch luxury environment and is committed to a consistent weekly schedule — this is not a fill-in or occasional-visit role. This is a part-time role of 15–33 hours per week. ## Role & Responsibilities - Perform facials and select body treatments using the full Oak Essentials product line, following spa protocols. - Confidently and authentically communicate the Oak Essentials brand story, formulation philosophy, and ingredient technology to every guest. - Recommend the products used in each treatment and build take-home routines for guests based on treatment outcomes and skin concerns. - Support retail through in-treatment product recommendations; this role is based in the treatment room and does not staff the retail floor. - Educate guests on product benefits, ingredient technology, and personalized at-home routines during and after treatments. - Maintain a consistent, recurring weekly availability to support predictable scheduling for guests and the spa calendar. - Ensure a premium brand experience and presentation at all times. - Build strong relationships with repeat guests to support rebooking and retail reorder. - Submit visit/service recaps and retail performance notes to support business tracking. ## Qualifications and Requirements - Active esthetician license required (California). - Experience performing facial treatments in a spa setting, plus some body treatment experience (e.g., exfoliations, wraps). - Experience in luxury spa, skincare, or prestige beauty retail preferred. - Ability to confidently speak to and recommend the skincare products used in treatment; retail recommendation experience is a plus. - Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both guests and leadership. - Comfortable with digital platforms for scheduling, reporting, and communication. - A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset — this is a small, growing team and the right person helps shape how the spa runs. - Reliable, recurring weekly availability (specific days/hours to be discussed) — this is essential and non-negotiable for the role. Additional Notes This job description is not all inclusive. In addition, Oak Essentials LLC reserves the right to amend this job description at any time. Oak Essentials LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $27–$30 + commission on both appointments and product sales. The hourly rate of pay is determined by experience, education, skills, and location. ## About Jenni Kayne ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Jenni Kayne is a California-inspired luxury lifestyle brand designing timeless wardrobe and home essentials, with a growing beauty line called Oak Essentials. - **Entity Type**: Private (Privately Held; no disclosed funding rounds – likely bootstrapped or self-funded) - **Headquarters**: West Hollywood, California, United States - **Founded**: 2003 - **Founders**: Jenni Kayne ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: Retail (luxury fashion, home goods, beauty) - **Target customers**: B2C; affluent consumers seeking high-quality, timeless, California-inspired lifestyle products (wardrobe, home, beauty) - **Mission or purpose statement**: “Inspiring people to live well” – focusing on intentional living, quality, and ease. ## Products & Services - **Women’s Apparel & Accessories**: Signature ready-to-wear, footwear, and accessories designed as enduring classics. - **Home Collection**: Foundational home goods including bedding, ceramics, decor, and entertaining essentials. - **Oak Essentials (Beauty)**: A clean, spa-quality self-care line inspired by Jenni Kayne’s own beauty rituals, offering skincare and body care products. - **Hospitality & Content**: The brand also curates a lifestyle destination with editorial content on interiors, entertaining, style, and wellness. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed - **Key Metric**: Estimated annual revenue of **$100M** (as of 2025/2026, per LinkedIn data) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: No external investors publicly listed; key retail partners include Bloomingdale’s (pop-up/concessions). - **Growth Signals**: - 28 active job postings (as of mid-2026), quarterly job posting growth of +86.7% and yearly growth of +21.7%. - Expanding brick-and-mortar presence with stores in Bethesda, Nashville, Charleston, Scottsdale, Houston, and others. - Headcount is 120 employees (down 3.2% YoY, but hiring activity is increasing). - 15,740 LinkedIn followers (+17.4% yearly). ## Competitive Advantages - **Strong brand identity**: A recognizable California aesthetic that transcends trends, positioning Jenni Kayne as a lifestyle brand rather than just fashion. - **Product breadth**: Cohesive collections across apparel, home, and beauty create a loyal customer ecosystem. - **Quality & timelessness**: Emphasis on heirloom-quality pieces that appeal to a conscious consumer seeking longevity. - **In-house culture & DEI commitment**: Dedicated DEI training, diversity report, and a focus on employee well-being. ## Strategic Focus - **Omnichannel retail expansion**: Opening new retail stores in key markets (e.g., Bethesda, Nashville, Scottsdale) while maintaining a strong e-commerce presence. - **Beauty growth**: Scaling Oak Essentials as a standalone beauty destination. - **Content & community**: Building a lifestyle media platform around interiors, wellness, and entertaining to deepen customer engagement. - **Sustainability**: Ongoing efforts (mentioned on careers page) – specific details not publicly available but part of brand narrative. ## Why Work Here - **Culture highlights**: “The Live Well Program” – a wellness initiative covering health, financial education, philanthropy, and work/life balance.
