We are focused on delivering capable, resilient autonomous systems that strengthen the strategic advantage of the United States and its allied navies. We move fast, build real hardware, and operate with the urgency that the mission demands. ## ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for engineering interns across multiple disciplines to join us for the Fall. This isn't a shadow and observe internship, you'll be embedded on a small team working on real vehicle systems, writing real code, designing real hardware, and seeing the results of your work in the lab or in the water. We're hiring across four tracks: Software Engineering: Contribute to our autonomy stack, build internal tools, or work on embedded systems that run on vehicle hardware. Electrical Engineering: Support board design, power systems, sensor integration, or harness and interconnect development. Mechanical Engineering: Work on structural design, mechanisms, manufacturing support, or vehicle integration and test. Hardware Engineering: Bridge across electrical and mechanical disciplines, supporting system-level integration, prototyping, and hands-on build and test. You'll be matched to a track and project based on your skills and interests, but the walls between disciplines are thin here, expect to learn and contribute across boundaries. ## WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own a meaningful project scoped for the summer with real deliverables that contribute to the vehicle program. - Work alongside full-time engineers in your discipline on day-to-day design, build, and test activities. - Participate in design reviews, team standups, and engineering discussions. - Get hands-on with hardware whether that's assembling boards, machining parts, running tests, or deploying systems in the water. - Present your work and results to the engineering team at the end of the internship. ## WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Ocean Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. - Genuine interest in building physical systems that operate in the real world robots, vehicles, hardware, not just software on a screen. - Foundational skills relevant to your track whether that's CAD and fabrication, circuit design and soldering, embedded programming, or full-stack development. - A bias toward action, you build things, break things, and figure things out. - Comfort working in a fast-paced, small-team environment where you'll be trusted with real responsibility. - U.S. Citizenship. ## NICE TO HAVE - Personal or academic projects in robotics, autonomous systems, or marine/aerospace engineering. - Experience with hands-on prototyping, shop tools, or lab equipment. - Prior internship or co-op experience in defense, aerospace, or hardware-focused companies. - Familiarity with version control, embedded systems, or CAD/CAE tools. ## WHY JOIN US Most internships have you working on a side project that never ships. Here, you'll work on systems that go in the ocean and serve the U.S. Navy and our allied partners. If you want an internship where you learn fast, build real things, and contribute to the hardest engineering problems in defense — this is it. ## DISCLOSURES This position may require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Please note that any offer for employment may be conditioned on authorization to receive software or technology controlled under these U.S. export control laws and regulations without sponsorship for an export license. Odin Dynamics, Inc. participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. Odin Dynamics is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. All qualified applicants will be treated with respect and receive equal consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, uniform service, Veteran status, age, or any other protected characteristic per federal, state, or local law, including those with a criminal history, in a manner consistent with the requirements of applicable state and local laws. ## About Odin Dynamics, Inc ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Odin Dynamics builds autonomous undersea vehicles for precision strike, ISR, and mine warfare, enabling affordable, scalable deterrence in contested maritime zones. - **Entity Type**: Private (early-stage startup; founded in 2025) - **Headquarters**: Los Angeles, California, United States - **Founded**: 2025 - **Founders**: Not publicly disclosed (team includes former Navy program managers and Tesla veterans) ## Core Business - **Primary industries**: Defense and Space Manufacturing, Autonomous Vehicles, Naval & Maritime Systems - **Target customers**: U.S. Navy (program offices PMS 406, PMS 408, ONR), Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), SOCOM, N97, and allied navies (Taiwan, Poland, Japan) - **Mission**: Enabling global deterrence through technology – redefining strategic deterrence and naval superiority with high-endurance, long-range autonomous undersea systems ## Products & Services - **Advanced Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs)**: Modular autonomous platforms designed for high endurance, long range, high payload, and advanced targeting. Capabilities include precision strike, ISR, and mine warfare. Two generations of prototypes completed (P1 & P2), with autonomous navigation demonstrated and critical subsystems validated. Fieldable systems expected by Q4 2025. ## Market Standing - **Valuation / Market Cap**: Not disclosed | **Total Funding**: Not publicly available (in diligence with early-stage defense VCs; interest from LPs in U.S., EU, and Asia-Pacific) - **Key Metric**: 4 employees (as of early 2026); active job postings (4 open roles); web traffic ~3,668 monthly visits (growing 62.4% month-over-month) - **Notable Investors / Partners**: Engaged with U.S. Navy program offices, DIU, SOCOM, and allied navies. Rear Admiral Matt Burns, U.S. Navy (Ret.) joined as Senior Military Advisor. - **Growth Signals**: Hired senior Navy acquisition leader (ex-PMS 408) to lead global go-to-market; submitted proposals to DIU solicitations, Navy SBIR 25.1, and AUKUS Pillar II; early collaboration with allied navies; web traffic and LinkedIn followers growing (+9.6% monthly) ## Competitive Advantages - **Speed vs. incumbents**: Legacy primes operate on 5–7 year timelines with high unit costs; Odin Dynamics aims to field systems in months, not years. - **Technical differentiation**: Autonomous, stealthy, modular UUVs with high endurance and long range – filling a gap in affordable, scalable undersea strike platforms. - **Team pedigree**: Backed by Navy program managers and Tesla veterans, combining deep maritime domain knowledge with engineering execution. ## Strategic Focus - **Immediate priorities**: Accelerate prototype-to-deployment cycle; expand government and allied partnerships; hire elite engineers (Senior Electrical Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Lead Test Engineer, Staff Mechanical Engineer); scale production assembly. - **Long-term direction**: Establish Odin Dynamics as a leading provider of autonomous undersea combat systems for the U.S. and allied nations, particularly in contested environments like the South China Sea, Taiwan Strait, and Black Sea. ## Why Work Here - **Impact**: Small, elite team (currently 4 people) building next-generation defense technology with direct national security relevance. - **Engineering culture**: Hands-on, fast-paced environment with ownership over critical subsystems and prototypes. “We are hiring elite engineers and seeking strategic collaborations.” - **Work model**: Primarily on-site in Los Angeles (HQ) or Sacramento; hybrid/remote policy not specified. - **Notable perks**: Not disclosed, but the company emphasizes making a tangible difference in undersea warfare and working alongside former Navy leaders and Tesla alum. ## Sources 1.
