Our technology has been battle-tested in Ukraine— the world’s most intense proving ground for drone warfare. In March 2026, we became the first Ukrainian defense startup to go public on NASDAQ, following a $15M Series A — the largest investment in a Ukrainian defense tech company since the start of the war. Working at Swarmer means operating at the intersection of engineering rigor and frontline reality. The problems and environments are complex, and the stakes are very real. We built this software to enable democratic nations to defend themselves. If you are motivated by building resilient systems that matter and by seeing the direct impact of your work, you’ll find purpose here. ## WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR: We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Field Integration Technician to support the deployment, integration, and field modification of advanced unmanned systems automation technologies. This role is ideal for a technically proficient individual with hands-on experience in unmanned aerial systems (UAS), unmanned surface vehicles (USV), unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), and autonomous platforms; has extensive experience with embedded Linux and its deployment process; thrives in dynamic field environments; and is comfortable working on a small team, bridging hardware and software domains. ## WHAT YOU’LL DO: - Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot unmanned systems in field operations, including aerial, ground, and nautical platforms. - Perform real-time system software integration and modifications using platforms such as Betaflight, ArduPilot, and other open-source or proprietary flight control systems. - Lead diagnostic and troubleshooting efforts for hardware, firmware, and software in field environments, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime. - Collaborate with engineering teams to validate system performance and implement field-driven improvements. - Write and modify scripts and software (Python, C++) to support mission-specific automation and control. - Integrate automation algorithms and protocols into live systems, ensuring robust performance in complex environments. - Implement and troubleshoot MAVLink communication protocols for telemetry, command, and control of unmanned systems. - Maintain detailed documentation of field activities, system configurations, and integration outcomes. ## WHAT WE NEED: - Proven experience with unmanned systems design, build, integration, and deployment. - Proficiency in configuring and tuning flight controllers (ArduPilot, PX4, etc.). - Strong programming skills, with an emphasis on automation, control systems, and embedded development. - Hands-on experience with MAVLink in real-world applications. - Familiarity with RF communications, telemetry systems, and sensor integration. - Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges. - Strong understanding of embedded Linux systems and deployment processes. - Proficiency in network systems configuration, routing, and diagnostics across Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and telemetry links. - Strong understanding of Linux networking (netplan, iptables, systemd-networkd) and command-line administration. - Experience with VPNs, firewalls, and secure remote access for unmanned and distributed systems. - Deep understanding of UAV hardware ecosystems, including flight controllers (ArduPilot/PX4), sensors (IMUs, GPS, cameras), and communication systems. - Experience working with microcontrollers, SoCs, and platforms like Raspberry Pi or similar. - Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO. - Solid understanding of hardware-software integration in resource-constrained environments. - Background in RF engineering, IoT communication protocols; practical experience preferred over formal education, but both are a plus. - Configuration and troubleshooting of IP networks for UAS (Ethernet, CAN, UDP, MAVLink-over-IP, etc.) - Willingness to travel and support field demonstrations (expected 40%). Would be an advantage: - Unmanned systems, robotics or multi-agent coordination systems; - Background in electrical or mechanical engineering, computer science, or related fields; degree is not required - equivalent field experience is preferred. ## WHAT YOU’LL GET: - Your work ships fast and gets used. Direct operational feedback from users in weeks, not years - A fast-paced environment with minimal bureaucracy and no “process for the sake of process” - Competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package (insurance, paid sick leave, 20 paid days off per year) - Flexible remote work options where possible ## HOW’S THE HIRING PROCESS GOING: ✔️ Recruiter Screen → ✔️ Technical Interview → ✔️ Skip-level Interview → ✔️ Offer Please note that, as a leading defense tech company, we take operations security seriously and may need to perform additional background checks as part of our hiring process. We will do so in accordance with all applicable US laws and regulations and safeguard your data in the process. Ready to Apply? ## About Swarmer ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Swarmer develops combat-driven, vendor-agnostic collaborative autonomy software that enables one operator to control hundreds of unmanned systems in real time. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series A; has filed for Nasdaq IPO) - **Headquarters**: Austin, Texas, USA (with operations in Ukraine, Poland, and Estonia) - **Founded**: May 2023 - **Founders**: Serhii Kupriienko (Global CEO) and Alex Fink (President & US CEO) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Defense technology / Autonomous systems - **Target customers**: Military and defense organizations (B2G) - **Mission or purpose**: To provide intelligent swarming software that allows large numbers of low-cost unmanned systems to operate collectively as one coherent, resilient force, keeping humans out of harm’s way. ## Products & Services - **Swarmer Software Platform**: A modular, platform-agnostic software stack for autonomous navigation, real-time combat data fusion, AI-driven collaboration, and scalable autonomy. Features encrypted over-the-air updates.
