The core values that ground our work, guide our decisions, and connect us together: Pragmatic Optimism Excellence without Ego Proactive Collaboration Job Overview As a Field Service Manager at Mainspring Energy, you will lead Field Service Supervisors and support the overall performance, availability, and reliability of Mainspring's operating fleet. You will translate fleet performance objectives into effective field execution by ensuring the organization has the right people, skills, parts, tools, and resources available to safely execute planned and reactive maintenance. This role provides leadership and direction to Field Service Supervisors while maintaining accountability for fleet performance, workforce capability, resource utilization, and operational readiness. The Manager will work closely with Engineering, Reliability, Supply Chain, Logistics, Safety, Customer Operations, and other internal teams to identify risks, remove operational barriers, and improve field service effectiveness. ## Responsibilities Team Leadership: Directly manage, coach, and develop Supervisors. Establish expectations for safety, operational execution, customer engagement, communication, and accountability. Develop supervisor capability, consistency, succession plans, and performance management practices Fleet Performance: Monitor fleet availability and maintenance performance; identify reliability risks; ensure appropriate prioritization of reactive versus planned work; review downtime, repeat failures, extended repairs, and trends; drive action plans; lead fleet performance reviews; escalate significant risks with recommendations Personnel and Resource Management: Develop workforce plans based on fleet growth, maintenance demand, geography, and reactive workload. Evaluate technician capacity, skills, certifications, and coverage. Identify staffing gaps, balance resources, manage subcontractor needs, participate in hiring, and develop training plans Strategic Parts and Resource Planning: Identify critical spares and materials; forecast maintenance and reactive demand with Supply Chain; identify shortages affecting downtime; support stocking-location decisions; plan major maintenance campaigns, upgrades, retrofits, tools, lifting equipment, test equipment, and subcontractor requirements Maintenance and Site Planning: Review requirements across 30-day, 90-day, 6-month, and 12-month horizons. Identify capacity constraints, support outages and major campaigns, ensure critical-path activities have parts and labor, and support new site and fleet expansion planning Cross-Functional Operational Leadership: Bridge Field Service with Reliability Engineering, Product Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Safety, Customer Operations, Manufacturing, Technical Support, Finance, and Fleet Operations. Drive closure of issues affecting fleet performance and incorporate field feedback into product and process improvements Required Qualifications - 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in Field Service, O&M, industrial maintenance, power generation, utilities, or comparable technical service operations - 5+ years of leadership experience, preferably managing supervisors, leads, or frontline leaders - Experience managing distributed or geographically dispersed field teams - Experience coordinating planned and reactive maintenance - Experience managing workforce capacity, technician utilization, and resource allocation - Demonstrated use of operational data and KPIs to drive improvement - Strong cross-functional leadership experience Strongly Preferred Qualifications - Prior Field Service Technician or Field Service Engineer experience - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field - Power generation O&M experience - Experience with generators, engines, turbines, electrical systems, energy storage, or complex electromechanical equipment. - Experience supporting fleets of distributed assets - Maintenance planning and outage execution - Salesforce Field Service, Quickbase, CMMS/EAM, ERP, or comparable digital operations platforms - Critical spare parts and inventory planning - High-visibility enterprise customer support Does your experience not meet all of our posted requirements?
