The 4,000+ U.S. banks and the two million people who work at them deserve AI that's purpose-built for their workflows, their controls, and their regulators. Forward Deployed Engineers are how we deliver on that — and the Product-Focus FDE is the one who lives closest to the client. You'll be embedded in a bank's mission, not just their team. That means co-owning the strategic outcome: framing the problem, mapping the workflow, building the right thing, and knowing when to push back. Your day moves between executive conversations, product decisions, and hands-on building — wireframing an interface in the morning, walking a Chief Credit Officer through a prototype after lunch, shipping the next iteration before sign-off. This is a builder role with a product spike. You'll write code, but your edge is your instinct for what to build and your fluency in the language of banking. ## What you'll do - Embed with banking clients to deeply understand their workflows, constraints, regulatory context, and the strategic outcomes they're chasing - Translate ambiguous business problems into specific, testable hypotheses — then design and ship the solution against them - Own product decisions on live engagements: scope, sequencing, UX, what to build vs. what to leverage from the Titan platform - Build full-stack, leaning on UI/UX and front-end craft to deliver client-facing experiences that feel native and trusted - Run agentic workflows end-to-end: design the agent, configure the toolkit, evaluate, ship, iterate - Codify what you learn into reusable patterns, playbooks, and platform feedback so the next engagement starts further down the field - Partner with the broader Titan team — platform, GTM, ops — and represent the client's reality back to product and engineering ## Who you are - A builder first. You may have taught yourself to code, switched careers into engineering because the opportunity was too interesting to ignore, or never stopped shipping side projects. The bias to build shows up in your history. - Strong product and UX instinct. You sketch, you prototype, you think constantly about how products you use could be improved. - Fluent (or fluent-curious) in banking. You've worked in or alongside the industry — risk and controls, lending, credit, compliance, payments, treasury, deposits — or in a comparably regulated B2B context (e.g., insurance, healthcare, defense, energy). - Client-ready. You've sat across the table from senior stakeholders. You know how to disagree without breaking trust, how to ask the question behind the question, and how to keep a room moving. - Comfortable owning workstreams. You can run a multi-stakeholder engagement without a heavyweight PM process behind you. - Hypothesis-driven. You hold opinions strongly and loosely — confident enough to commit, humble enough to change course when the evidence does. Technical foundation - Prompt and context engineering experience (e.g., understand the nature of language model responses, able to return equal results out of smaller models with better prompts and context) - Full-stack development with a stronger spike in UI/UX and front-end (Python and TypeScript/React are our default stack) - Hands-on experience building agents using LangChain, LangGraph, DeepAgents, and model-provider SDKs (Claude SDK, OpenAI Agents SDK) - Working knowledge of agent search patterns — agent file search, vector and vectorless RAG - Familiarity with eval and training loops for AI agents - Exposure to AI security primitives: observability, data controls, model gateways We don't expect every box checked. We do expect that the boxes you haven't checked, you'd be excited to learn this quarter. ## Why Titan We're building the AI platform for banking because most of the two million people employed by 4,000+ U.S. banks cannot safely and securely use modern AI tools at work — and none of them are using AI purpose-built for their domain. We're changing that. Our platform includes: - Titan Foundry — secure gateway to top AI models for bank employees - Banking-Reasoning Models — our flagship small language models for financial services, trained by ex-regulators and banking leaders - Banking Agents — a configurable AI application layer with expertise in lending, compliance, underwriting, and operations Our team comes from Goldman Sachs, KeyBank, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. We've built and sold companies into the top 25 U.S. banks. We're pre-Series A, small, and shipping. A Product-Focus FDE here is not a solutions engineer in disguise or a TPM with a code editor open. You're the person who turns a unique client requirement into a piece of durable software the rest of the company can stand on. ## What we offer - Competitive base salary plus meaningful pre-Series A equity - Remote-first with regular in-person collaboration and travel to client sites (~25–40%, depending on engagement) - Unlimited PTO - 100% of employee medical, dental, and vision premiums covered by Titan ## About Titan AI ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Titan builds a secured, auditable AI platform with proprietary banking-native models and agents purpose-built for financial services. - **Entity Type**: Private (early-stage startup, no disclosed funding round) - **Headquarters**: New York, NY, United States (with additional office in Greenwich, CT) - **Founded**: 2025 - **Founders**: Arjun Sirrah (Founder & CEO) ## Core Business - Primary industry: AI platform for banking / Financial Technology (FinTech) - Target customers: Banks and financial institutions (B2B, Enterprise, highly regulated) - Mission statement: Build AI that thinks like a bank – delivering explainable, auditable, and secure AI for banking operations, compliance, and credit. ## Products & Services - **Titan Banking Platform**: A unified interface providing access to proprietary banking-small language models (SLMs), general-purpose LLMs, and built-in Banking Agents. Handles tasks like consumer credit processing, regulatory compliance, bank operations, and product inquiries. Key features include auditable chain-of-thought, human-in-the-loop workflows, role-based access control, and SOC 2 compliance. (Type: SaaS / AI Platform) - **Titan Banking Agents**: Agentic workflows that leverage Titan’s banking models to automate reviews, exception processing, and deep research – designed to mirror how top-performing bankers reason. (Type: AI Agent / Workflow Automation) ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly available - **Key Metric**: Headcount of 14 employees (as of mid-2026) with 23.8% monthly growth; 12 active job openings. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Board includes **Blake Paulson** (former Acting Comptroller of the Currency). The company’s team includes former senior bank operators, OCC regulators, and AI engineers from KeyBank, Laurel Road, and other fintechs. - **Growth Signals**: Rapid hiring (+71.4% job postings quarterly), early preference results showing 80% banking task preference over ChatGPT and 97% over Gemini 2.5 Pro, and strong domain credibility with a founding team that scaled Laurel Road to $1B+ annual originations. ## Competitive Advantages - **Banking-native ontology**: Models are not fine-tuned general LLMs – they embed proprietary banking logic, regulatory knowledge, and credit risk reasoning from the ground up. - **Auditability & explainability**: Full logging of prompts, chain-of-thought, and decisions – designed for examiner review and regulatory defense. - **Security & compliance**: SOC 2 compliant, AES-256 encryption, RBAC, MFA, and a dedicated data protection layer that never uses customer data to train public models. - **Human-in-the-loop**: AI recommends, bankers approve – preserving domain expertise and accountability. ## Strategic Focus - Scaling enterprise sales to mid-size and large banks (evidenced by hiring Account Executives and Client Partners). - Expanding the proprietary model’s performance lead through continuous training on banking-specific data and the Banker Trust Index evaluation. - Growing the team across engineering (Forward Deployed, AI, QA) and go-to-market roles. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: Small, fast-moving startup (14 people) with deep banking expertise – you’ll work directly with former regulators, bank CTOs, and fintech veterans. - **Engineering culture**: Emphasis on applied AI, full-stack development, and forward deployment inside customer environments. High ownership and impact – engineers build features that directly affect how banks operate. - **Remote/Hybrid**: Not explicitly stated; HQ in New York with a Greenwich, CT office – likely in-office or hybrid for many roles. - **Notable perks**: Opportunity to shape AI for a heavily regulated industry, work on explainable/auditable models, and learn from a team that includes a former Acting Comptroller of the Currency. ## Sources 1.
