Not hypotheticals — all of this has actually happened in this seat. The range is the job. One hour you're framing a business-model decision for the founders; the next you're chasing a teammate for a missing receipt so the month closes. If either end of that spectrum feels beneath you or beyond you, this isn't the role. The topics change every day, and you have to like that. This is not a coordination role, and not a note-taking role. You work directly with the three co-founders, you're in the room for every critical decision, and you own the execution that follows. ## WHAT YOU'LL DO We'll iterate from here, but this is the real, current scope: - Frame strategy before it becomes a project. You're the first one on new strategic topics - a business model option, how to approach a new market, a build-vs-partner call. You structure the question, run the first pass of analysis, and give the founders a direction to react to before anyone commits resources. - Run financial operations. Three entities (US, Germany, Spain), external accountants in each, banking across four providers, payroll, invoicing, spend and receipt tracking, month-end coordination. You own the numbers being right and you automate as much of it as possible. - Participate to recruiting operations. Source, screen, and coordinate candidates across business roles. Prepare and run our structured trial days, and help close top talent. - Build with AI agents, not just spreadsheets. We run internal agents for most of what we do, built by the business team using coding agents like Claude Code or Codex. You'll extend this fleet. If a task is done manually twice, you build the thing that does it a third time. - Support the GTM engine. Target account research, outbound infrastructure, CRM hygiene, event operations... from CFO dinners and conference sponsorships to hackathons we co-organize with top-tier partners. - Be founder leverage. The weekly all-hands deck, investor updates, briefing materials, speaker submissions, meeting follow-ups. You make sure founder time goes to the highest-value activities and nothing falls through the cracks - including the unglamorous parts. Legal coordination, vendor management, office logistics: if it has no owner, you're the owner. - Prepare for what's next. As we grow, new topics will land on our desk quickly. You'll own them. ## WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 3–4 years in a high-intensity environment. Top-tier consulting, banking, VC/PE, or an early-stage startup. You've been the person things get thrown at. - Genuinely AI-native. This is a hard requirement, not a buzzword. You already use AI agents to do real work. You've automated a workflow, built something with a coding agent, or run your job through tools most people haven't heard of yet. We'll ask you to show us. - The full spectrum, gladly. You take a strategic framing session and a receipt-chasing task in the same afternoon with the same energy. You can context-switch without losing the thread. No task is beneath you; no topic is above you. - Extreme ownership. You see gaps, you fill them, and you don't wait to be told. When something has no owner, you're the owner. - Analytical range. You can build a financial model, structure a market analysis, and write a compelling narrative with equal comfort. - Writing that doesn't need editing. Investor updates, candidate emails, partnership briefs - clear, direct, done. - Technical curiosity. You don't need to write code, but you understand how software gets built and can engage credibly with engineers - and direct AI agents that build for you. - Fluent English. It's our working language. This is a wishlist, not a checklist. If the role excites you but you don't tick every box, we would encourage you to apply anyway. ## NICE TO HAVE - Experience in fintech, B2B SaaS, or the office-of-the-CFO space - Prior startup experience (founding, early employee, or operator role) - Exposure to fundraising processes. You've seen how rounds come together - Spanish or German ## About Causa Prima ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Causa Prima operates an agent-to-agent network that automates invoicing, dispute resolution, and payment-term negotiations between buyers and suppliers for finance teams. - **Entity Type**: Private (Pre-Seed) - **Headquarters**: Madrid, Spain & Munich, Germany - **Founded**: 2025 (implied by recent funding and hiring activity in early 2026) - **Founders**: Maex Ament (CEO), Henrik Gebbing (COO), Philip Stanislaus (CTO) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: B2B Fintech / Accounts Payable & Receivable Automation - **Target customers**: SMB and Enterprise finance teams (buyers and suppliers) - **Mission or purpose**: To eliminate fixed payment terms (Net-30, Net-60) by enabling AI agents on both sides of a transaction to settle instantly, so money moves on the right terms at the right time automatically. ## Products & Services - **Causa Prima Network**: A two-sided agent-to-agent network where AI agents handle invoicing, dispute resolution, and dynamic discounting. Buyers and suppliers connect on one platform, removing manual handoffs between AP and AR systems. - **Scribo (Open Source)**: A free, AI-native e-invoicing tool compliant with EN 16931 (ZUGFeRD/XRechnung for Germany, US plain PDF). Available as an MCP server, Claude/Codex skill, CLI, HTTP API, and web app. Designed to help developers and finance teams generate compliant invoices programmatically. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed (pre-seed stage) - **Key Metric**: $10M in total funding (pre-seed round, announced June 2026) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Creandum (led the round), Kfund, HelloWorld, Angel Invest, plus angel investors from Qonto, Pennylane, SAP, ING, SoFi, LIDL, and DeepMind. - **Growth Signals**: Already trusted by 3,000+ accounts; headcount grew 28.6% monthly (LinkedIn data as of mid-2026); hiring for engineering and product roles in Madrid and Munich; open-source Scribo project gaining traction (12 stars on GitHub). ## Competitive Advantages - **Two-sided network**: Unlike competitors that automate only one side (AP or AR), Causa Prima connects both buyers and suppliers on a shared network, eliminating the gap between systems. - **Founder credibility**: Maex Ament invented dynamic discounting and co-founded Taulia (acquired by SAP, processing $50B/quarter). Henrik Gebbing built Finoa to $10B in assets under custody. Philip Stanislaus led 600+ enterprise security audits at Oak Security. - **Agent-native design**: The platform is built from the ground up for AI agents to negotiate in real time, not just to speed up human workflows. ## Strategic Focus - **Current priorities**: Grow the engineering and product teams in Madrid and Munich; scale the network beyond 3,000 accounts; push toward eliminating fixed payment terms entirely by making agent-to-agent settlement the default. - **Direction**: Move from automating existing finance processes to replacing the underlying paradigm of B2B payments (Net-30/60/90) with instant, AI-driven settlement. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: Described by founders as a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” for people who want to build high-impact infrastructure from scratch. Emphasis on entrepreneurial drive and solving a problem that software has never fully addressed. - **Remote/Hybrid/Office**: Presence in Madrid and Munich; roles appear to be in-office or hybrid (engineering roles listed in these cities). - **Notable perks/engineering culture**: Early-stage startup with a small team (6 employees as of mid-2026) — high ownership and direct impact. Tech stack includes TypeScript, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Python. Open-source contributions (Scribo) are a core part of the product strategy. Backed by top-tier VC (Creandum) with strong founder track record. ## Sources 1. [causaprima.ai](https://causaprima.ai/) 2. [jobs.ashbyhq.com](https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/causaprima) 3.
