By automating complex, manual healthcare processes—like benefit verification and prior authorization— we've been growing rapidly and over the past couple of years have helped over 2.5 million patients! We’re partnering with some of the largest pharmacy benefit managers and payers in the nation, revolutionizing how healthcare interactions occur by eliminating human delays and inefficiencies. Our small, elite team of founders and engineers have previously launched and exited successful healthcare startups including Rupa Health and Canvas Medical. We are now scaling rapidly following a major funding round. ## About The Role We're hiring a full-time Founding Growth Marketing Lead to grow how providers use our platform and to build pipeline with pharmacies and pharma. You'll join our growth team, reporting to our Head of Growth and working alongside our go-to-market and product teams. You'll be our first dedicated marketing and design hire. You won't be inventing strategy alone: you'll work with our Growth Marketing Advisor and the exec team who set direction with you. You own execution: turning that direction into shipped work, most of which you'll produce yourself. Three things define success in this role: - You own the channels that reach providers. You run the campaigns that get provider offices using the platform and keep them using it, supporting the teams who own those relationships. You own the channels themselves rather than briefing someone else to run them. - You support building pipeline for our revenue channels. Outbound, nurture, and conference presence that puts our sales team in more of the right conversations. - You ship it yourself, AI-first. You take a high-level brief and come back with customer-ready assets that ship without a review committee. You produce them personally, using AI tooling to move quickly, and you have the taste to know when something is good enough to go out. You don't need a healthcare background, but you do need to pick up a complex domain quickly. Startup experience is a strong plus. ## What You'll Do Support and grow provider adoption - Build the materials and campaigns that help provider offices learn what we offer them, get started, and keep using the platform, supporting the teams who own those relationships. - Make the value obvious to a busy clinical office in their first few seconds of attention. - Track what's landing with which audience, and adjust. Build pipeline - Run campaign work into pharmacies and pharma: outbound, nurture, and the sequences that create qualified conversations for sales. - Own our conference presence: booth concept, collateral, and the outreach before and after that turns floor traffic into real conversations. - Work with our Head of Growth and Growth Marketing Advisor on positioning and channel direction, then own the execution. Ship the work - Produce the collateral behind all of the above: one-pagers, leave-behinds, mailers, conference kits, landing pages, and sales materials, on-brand and current. - Work AI-first. Most production here is a matter of using the right tools well and knowing when the output is ready to ship. - Make it repeatable: organized assets, reusable templates, and playbooks the team can pull from. ## What You’ll Bring On Day 1 - Hands-on ownership of multiple channels. You have personally run and executed the channels you're claiming, rather than directing agencies or delegating the work. - Scale you can point to. A budget you grew (taking one from zero to $1M in six months, etc.), or a channel you built: search footprint, list size, audience, or pipeline sourced. - Genuine fluency with current AI tooling. Your workflow should look materially different than it did six months ago. You choose deliberately between tools and can explain the reasoning, and you have automation doing real work on your behalf. - Taste. You recognize strong messaging and design, and you can articulate why it works. - Campaigns with measurable results. You can walk us through one you ran and the numbers it moved. - Quantitative fluency. You decompose a funnel and know when to stop investing in something. - Fast and self-directed. You take direction well, then run with it. You prefer shipping over planning. - You'll speak up. You work with an advisor and opinionated founders, so we need someone who pushes back with evidence when the direction feels wrong. ## What You’ll Need To Learn Quickly - Our domain: prior authorization, benefit verification, and medication access, and why it matters to providers, pharmacies, and pharma. - Our audiences: what resonates with each, especially busy clinical offices. - Our product story: the proof points, and how to communicate them plainly and credibly. Bonus Points - Early marketing hire at a high-growth health-tech or early-stage startup. - Exposure to healthcare provider buyers, pharmacy operations, or the PBM and payer landscape. - Hands-on with conference and field-marketing programs. - You pull your own data rather than waiting on analytics. This Might Not Be The Right Fit If - You want to own marketing strategy end to end. Direction is set with an advisor and the exec team. You'll have input, but you own execution and results. - You work primarily through agencies or a team. We need someone with direct, hands-on ownership of the channels they run and execution capabilities. - You use AI occasionally versus constantly. Our production speed depends on it. - You want to manage a sales team. Our account executives report to our Head of Growth. This role multiplies their output rather than managing them. - You need a lot of structure. We don't have much yet, and building it is part of the job. ## What We Offer - Competitive base salary plus meaningful early-stage equity. - High-end design and AI tooling (Figma, Notion, Claude Design, and more). - Work that directly accelerates access to medication for hundreds of thousands of patients, with room to grow as the marketing function scales. ## About Develop Health ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Develop Health is an insurance AI platform that automates medication prior authorization and benefit verification for healthcare providers directly within their clinical workflow. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series A) - **Headquarters**: Menlo Park, California, United States (also listed as San Francisco, CA on LinkedIn) - **Founded**: 2022 - **Founders**: Mel van Londen (Co-Founder & CEO) and Benjamin Easton (Co-Founder & CTO) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Healthcare Technology (Prior Authorization Automation / Insurance AI) - **Target customers**: B2B — healthcare providers, digital health companies, and physician practices (e.g., Calibrate); integrates with EHRs like athenahealth - **Mission or purpose**: To clear the path for medication access by automating the prior authorization lifecycle, reducing administrative burden on clinicians, and getting patients to life-changing therapy faster. ## Products & Services - **Prescription AI Platform**: An AI-powered system that automates the entire prior authorization process. It predicts medication coverage, cost, and requirements at the point of prescribing, automates benefit verification, completes and submits correct prior authorization forms, tracks status updates, and handles denial management by drafting clinical appeals. - **Real-time Benefit Verification**: Provides instant visibility into plan-specific medication coverage, cost, and requirements directly within the EHR workflow. - **Denial Management and Appeals**: If a prior authorization is denied, the system independently drafts and submits comprehensive clinical appeals to defend the treatment plan. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly available (private company) - **Key Metric**: Total funding of **$33.7 million** across two rounds (Pre-Seed and Series A) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Wing Venture Capital (lead, Series A), South Park Commons (lead, Pre-Seed), Afore Capital (Pre-Seed), Analog Ventures, MTech Capital. Key integration partner: athenahealth. - **Growth Signals**: Headcount grew **+200% year-over-year** to 22 employees. Raised a **$17.6M Series A** in late 2025. Launched a major integration with **athenahealth (athenaOne)** in December 2025. Client Calibrate reported a **70% reduction** in hands-on prior authorization time. ## Competitive Advantages - **Deep EHR Integration**: The platform is built to be invisible to the clinician, operating entirely within existing workflows (e.g., athenaOne) without requiring extra clicks or logins. - **End-to-End Automation**: Covers the entire medication access journey from benefit verification to submission to appeals, reducing manual work by up to 90%. - **Proven Outcomes**: Demonstrated real-world results, including reducing approval time from one week to under one day, and a 5–7x reduction in the number of prior authorizations required per member. - **Data Integrity & Compliance**: Maintains high standards of healthcare compliance (HIPAA, etc.) for security and privacy. ## Strategic Focus - **Expand EHR Integrations**: Following the athenahealth integration, the company is likely focused on integrating with other major EHR platforms to reach more providers. - **Scale Commercial Adoption**: Using the Series A funding to grow the customer base beyond early adopters (like Calibrate) into larger health systems and independent practices. - **Deepen AI Capabilities**: Continuing to improve the AI’s ability to predict coverage and automate complex clinical evidence extraction from patient notes. ## Why Work Here - **Culture & Mission**: Mission-driven work directly addressing a major cause of physician burnout (the average physician completes 43 prior authorizations per week). The team is small and growing fast. - **Work Model**: **In-Office** (Menlo Park, CA). Employees work from a physical office. - **Team & Growth**: A lean team of 22 with a strong technical core (29% in technical roles). High growth trajectory (+200% YoY headcount) suggests opportunities for impact and career advancement. - **Notable Perks**: Not explicitly listed, but being an early-stage, well-funded startup (Series A) in a high-impact space typically offers significant ownership, equity, and the chance to shape the product and culture. ## Sources 1.
