We’re backed by $6m from First Round, Y Combinator, SV Angel and angel investors, including Paul Graham, that have funded companies such as OpenAI, Google, Stripe, Anthropic, Databricks and Github. We have an advisory board of experienced insurance executives and founders. Our team was previously part of building Europe’s fastest growing InsurTech and founded a licensed EU bank processing payments of €1B/yr+. Now we are taking on one of the world’s largest industries and rebuilding it from the ground up with AI. Solva is a Y Combinator S25 company and has emerged as one of the fastest growing and best-funded startups. ## ABOUT THE ROLE As a Go to Market Account Executive at Solva you will lead engagements with some of the most sophisticated institutions in insurance. Our product sits inside real claims environments, touches critical workflows and requires a thoughtful, expertise driven approach. Your role is to help customers understand how Solva fits into their world and guide them through the process from first conversation to signed partnership. Each customer is different. This role is suited for someone with deep experience navigating enterprise sales and engaging with senior stakeholders at large institutions. Successful AEs at Solva learn these differences quickly and use them to shape effective strategies for each opportunity. You will collaborate closely with founders, engineering and product as you develop opportunities and build trust with customers. This is a role for someone who enjoys complex sales, takes interest in technical concepts and wants to help bring a new category of AI driven decisioning software into the market. ## WHAT YOU’LL DO - Own the full sales cycle with insurers, MGAs and TPAs from outreach to close - Develop a clear understanding of customer processes, data and claims workflows - Run discovery, shape value narratives and structure pilot or deployment proposals - Work closely with engineering and product to translate customer needs into solutions - Guide customers through procurement, data access, security reviews and legal steps - Build and manage relationships with senior decision makers and executive stakeholders - Consistently progress deals and maintain an accurate forecast - Help refine our go to market motion based on field learnings ## WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR - Strong track record in enterprise sales or consultative selling, ideally owning complex multi stakeholder deals - Comfortable selling a technical product into complex organizations - Strong ability to understand customer workflows and translate them into value - Clear communicator who can work with both technical and non technical audiences - Enjoys building high trust relationships - Detail oriented with strong process and follow through - Bonus if you have sold into financial services or insurance, but not required ## About Solva Technology ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Solva provides a domain-specific AI platform that automates insurance claims handling, enables real-time QA audits of 100% of claims, and prevents wrongful payouts. - **Entity Type**: Private (YC Startup, backed by Y Combinator) - **Headquarters**: New York, NY, USA - **Founded**: 2025 - **Founders**: Herman Båverud Olsson (CEO & Co-Founder), Linus Malmén (CTO & Co-Founder), Sorena Amini (COO & Co-Founder) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Insurance Technology (InsurTech) / Artificial Intelligence - **Target customers**: B2B – insurance carriers, claims departments, and third-party administrators (enterprise) - **Mission or purpose**: “Redesign claims & compliance” by giving insurers clarity and speed on the most complex claims, reducing leakage and improving loss ratios. ## Products & Services - **AI Claims Assessment**: AI agents that triage FNOLs, extract policy violations, flag missing information, and deliver source-cited claim recommendations. - **Real-Time QA Audits**: Platform audits 100% of claims (open and closed) to surface compliance gaps, leakage, and reserve issues before they compound. - **Leakage & Fraud Detection**: Identifies incomplete evidence, breaches of policy terms, and fraudulent behavior. - **Multi-Modal FNOL with Auto-Triage**: Automates first notice of loss handling. - **Compliance Framework**: Built-in support for GDPR, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and SOC 2 Type 2 (currently under evaluation) – suitable for highly regulated insurance environments. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly available (private startup). - **Key Metric**: Raised **$500K** in an Accelerator/Incubator round (Y Combinator) as of January 2025. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Y Combinator (primary partner: Gustaf Alstromer). Backed by “insurance leaders behind $220B+ in premiums”. - **Growth Signals**: - Batch: Y Combinator Summer 2025. - Team size: **15** (per YC profile). - Founders previously built a $100M+ GWP insurance business and AI processing of $1B+ in payouts. - Already trusted by “world’s leading insurers” (client names not disclosed). ## Competitive Advantages - **Domain-specific AI**: Built by insurance veterans who understand complex claims workflows – not generic large language models. - **100% audit coverage**: Competitors typically review less than 5% of claims; Solva audits the entire portfolio in real time. - **Verifiable, source-cited recommendations**: Every AI suggestion is backed by specific claim and policy documents, avoiding “black box” decisions. - **Compliance readiness**: Certified (ISO 27001) and designed for European/SOC2/HIPAA environments out of the box. ## Strategic Focus - Scale adoption among top-tier insurance carriers. - Automate end-to-end claim workflows, moving beyond simple document summarization to complex decision support. - Continue to develop self-learning AI agents that adapt to each client’s rules and policies. - Strengthen real-time leakage detection and subrogation/risk transfer capabilities. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: Early-stage YC startup with a tight, experienced founding team (former InsurTech CEO, neobank CTO, P&C expert). - **Work mode**: Based in New York, NY; remote/hybrid policy not specified but likely office-centric given startup stage. - **Impact**: Engineers will directly shape AI agents that process billions in claims – high ownership and visibility. - **Notable perks**: Competitive salary ($120K–$200K range for Founding Engineer), equity typical of YC startups, opportunity to work on regulated AI systems at scale. - **Engineering culture**: Hands-on, full-stack, high autonomy; building for reliability, auditability, and security. ## Sources 1.
