Job Summary: Ruggable is building an evergreen creative dream team that makes entertaining & compelling work across paid advertising, organic social, email, and the website. We’re looking for a Growth Creative Lead with strong art direction and design roots who can turn customer insights into ideas and stories people want to watch, share, and act on. You’re a maker yourself, or you’ve spent enough time working alongside makers to know how great content gets made. You’re connected to the creative community in Los Angeles, enthusiastic about interior design, and fluent in how storytelling changes across short and long-form channels. You’ll partner closely with Creative Strategy, Brand & Marketing leadership to turn insights into repeatable content engines, understand the metrics behind creative performance, and find new ways to scale products and ideas that are gaining traction. You’ll help lead the visual development of evergreen campaigns and content series from concept through production and channel-specific execution. This is a hands-on role: you should be comfortable making work yourself, directing others, and giving clear feedback to creators, designers, editors, and production partners. TLDR: You should be as interested in why a six second hook works as you are in what makes a room worth looking at. What You’ll Do: - Concept, make, and art direct creative across paid advertising, organic social, email, and the website, adapting ideas for both short and long-form formats. - Partner with Creative Strategy to turn customer insights, product opportunities, and cultural observations into repeatable content series and creative tests. - Use performance metrics to understand which ideas are working, improve the work, and scale creative around products gaining traction. - Bring an informed point of view on interiors, design, and how people live with Ruggable products. Translate that perspective into stories that build our franchise muscle so they feel useful, inspiring, and specific. - Translate concepts and scripts into storyboards, shot lists, and visual references that give creators and production partners a clear direction. - Partner with Brand to help stage and style rooms for shoots or CGI initiatives, making thoughtful choices about furniture, props, lighting, and rug placement so the product feels desirable and believable in a real home. - Tap into and build relationships with LA makers, creators, and production talent who can bring fresh skills and perspectives to the work. - Lead visual development from concept through shoot, edit, sound and delivery. Make work yourself when that’s the best way to move an idea forward. - Partner with the senior writer and videographers on hooks, scripts, and storytelling, then guide designers, editors, creators, and production partners through execution. - Work with channel partners to tailor creative to where it will appear and use what the team learns to shape the next round of work. What You’ll Need to Have: Required: - 7+ years of experience in strong art direction and design craft, with a portfolio spanning social-first video, digital campaigns, and work made for different channels and formats. - Highly skilled in Figma - A maker’s mindset. You can develop an idea, create or prototype parts of it yourself, and guide it through production and edit. - Experience directing creators, designers, editors, agencies, and production partners, with a talent for giving clear, useful feedback that makes the work stronger. - A genuine interest in interiors and design, and a point of view on how to make spaces, products, and the people who live with them compelling on screen. - Fluency in short and long-form storytelling, including how an idea should change for the channel and audience. - An understanding of creative performance metrics and experience using results to improve work, develop new variations, and scale promising ideas. - Familiarity with the Los Angeles maker and creator landscape, with the ability to find and collaborate with talent whose perspectives strengthen the work. - The judgment to balance creative ambition with the pace of an evergreen team, and the curiosity to keep learning what resonates with customers. Preferred: - You may have held a title such as Art Director, Senior Art Director, Associate Creative Director, or Creative Lead. The strength and range and breath of ideas in your work matter more than the exact title. - Interest and background mentoring or managing others - In-house experience Compensation & Location Details: - $140,000-$165,000 per year base salary based on experience - An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role - Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan - This role requires onsite (2-3 days per week) in our Torrance, CA Location At Ruggable, we offer competitive compensation and benefits packages.
