--- title: 'Hardware Validation Engineer at Syntronic' canonical: 'https://feeny.ai/job/hardware-validation-engineer-syntronic-boston-22vb2aw9y213' type: 'job' last_seen: '2026-10-15' --- # Hardware Validation Engineer at Syntronic - **Company:** Syntronic - **Location:** Boston, MA - **Compensation:** $70k–$120k - **Employment:** full-time - **Work type:** onsite - **Posted:** 2026-10-13 - **Last confirmed live:** 2026-10-15 - **Apply:** https://jobs.lever.co/syntronic/091ad471-3169-4935-a0e7-e1fa6e8e8f2f ## Job description Hardware Validation Engineer – Cambridge, MA ## Responsibilities ● Review hardware requirements, schematics, layouts, and platform configurations ● Perform system bring-up, debug, and troubleshooting across power, thermal, storage, networking, and system management. ● Perform root-cause analysis of hardware issues and collaborate with other teams to resolve problems. ● Develop and execute hardware validation and qualification plans for system and server components including CPU, RAM/DRAM, NICs, storage/NVMe devices, PCIe devices, and other platform components. ● Work with low-level interfaces and protocols such as I²C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and NVMe. ● Use laboratory and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, thermal chambers, networking equipment, and other hardware debugging tools. ● Develop Python and/or Bash scripts to automate validation activities, collect and analyze test data, parse logs, and generate reports. ● Work with Linux-based systems for hardware validation, troubleshooting, and test automation. ● Support networking and connectivity validation relevant to CDN server infrastructure. ● Collaborate with OEM/ODM partners and component suppliers on technical issues, qualification activities, and validation. ● Document test procedures, results, failures, root causes, and corrective actions. ● Support production and post-deployment issue investigation and provide feedback for future hardware improvements. ## Requirements ● Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. ● 2–5 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering, server platforms, hardware validation, embedded systems, or a similar field. ● Practical understanding of computer/server architecture and board-level hardware. ● Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, debugging, validation, or qualification. ● Good understanding of server components such as CPU, RAM/DRAM, NIC, storage. ● Familiarity with low-level interfaces such as I²C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and NVMe. ● Experience using electronic laboratory and diagnostic equipment. ● Experience with Linux and scripting, preferably Python and/or Bash. ● Basic understanding of networking concepts and server connectivity. ● Understanding of hardware/software interaction. ● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. ● Good written and verbal communication skills. ● Ability to work effectively with external partners, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams. ## Nice to Have ● Experience working with CDN, data center, cloud infrastructure, or high-volume server environments. ● Familiarity with Ethernet, high-speed networking, NICs, network troubleshooting, and network traffic testing. ● Experience with PCIe Gen4/Gen5, NVMe, and high-speed server components. ● Experience with BIOS, BMC/OpenBMC, firmware, telemetry, or server management. ● Exposure to thermal validation, signal integrity, power integrity, or system reliability testing. ● Experience developing automated hardware validation frameworks. ● Experience working with EVT/DVT/PVT/NPI or similar hardware development phases. ● Familiarity with server reliability, qualification, and stress-testing methodologies. ## What you’ll love about us - Company Culture – outstanding people and a flexible work environment. - Career Growth Opportunities – being a design house keeps variety in your work. - Global Design House – since Syntronic is a global Design House, you will probably work with inteam with engineers from other Syntronic sites (Canada, Sweden, China, Malaysia, Japan). ## Who we are Syntronic provides our customers a complete portfolio of professional services to support their product development including research & development, new product introduction, manufacturing and aftermarket services.
