Harness Manufacturing Intern (Fall 2026) Associate positions typically last for twelve weeks, and are salaried roles designed for students who have already received a bachelor's degree (or who will have done so before working at Astranis). As an Associate, you will have an amazing opportunity to work on hard problems — we pride ourselves on giving everyone at Astranis a chance to do meaningful work on challenging projects, and our Associate work on projects that are of equal importance and difficulty to the projects we give our full-time employees. If you are still a college student, please apply to join us as an Intern. ## Role - The Harness Manufacturing Associate will support the design, build, and continuous improvement of wire harness and cable assembly processes. This role provides hands-on exposure to production environments, manufacturing documentation, quality systems, and process optimization in a low/medium volume production setting. ## Responsibilities - Support manufacturing engineers with process documentation and work instruction review - Assist with wire harness and cable assembly builds, including cutting, stripping, crimping, labeling, and lacing - Participate in quality inspections - Help analyze manufacturing issues such as defects, rework, and throughput constraints - Assist with equipment qualification, tooling and fixture improvements, and test setups - Support DFM/DFA feedback to engineering teams - Collect and review production data for process improvement initiatives ## Requirements - Currently hold a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field - A passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment and hands-on design and development - Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize - Strong communication skills - Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operation - Must be onsite 5 days a week Bonus - Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing any type or hardware - Experience working a laboratory or industrial environment - Experience in CAD - Direct electrical or mechanical design experience The base salary for this position is $1,925 per week.
