We're a team of 7, backed by $7M in funding, and we intend to stay below ~25 humans hopefully forever. That means every hire matters enormously, and we compensate accordingly with highly competitive salary and equity. We have been building software together for over a decade. We formerly co-founded Gradescope, an AI-powered education grading platform used by millions of students worldwide. Previously, we were AI PhD students at UC Berkeley. All in all, we are four developers, one designer, and two generalist operators, and we all wear multiple hats every day. ## Our Values - Customer obsession. We see every customer interaction — every support email, every bug report, every piece of feedback — as a chance to earn trust and build something better. Customer communication is our differentiator, not overhead. - Speed with stability. We move fast, but we do not break things. We know that if something breaks, we're the ones fixing it — sometimes at night. We'd rather invest in getting it right the first time. - Living in the future. We use Superconductor to build Superconductor. We adopt our own tools before anyone else and push them until they break. If something feels like the old way of building software, we question it. - Small team, high standards. Every person on the team has outsized impact, outsized ownership, and outsized responsibility. Working at Superconductor - Hybrid from our East Bay office: 3 days in our easily BART-accessible office, 2 days from home. - However, our agents work 24/7, and there's real value in having humans cover the night shift. If you are an exceptional candidate, please apply even if you're not in the Bay Area. - Compensation: Highly competitive salary and meaningful equity — we're a small team that plans to stay small. - Benefits: Flexible PTO, parental leave, health insurance, employee-friendly equity terms, and premium equipment. - And of course, a practically unlimited token budget! ## The Role You will be one of the public faces of Superconductor and the chief evangelist of the "Self-Running Software Organization" — the idea that AI agents should always be working, that software can build itself, and that the world needs a LOT more quality software. You'll build in public, create content that developers genuinely want to consume, and cultivate a community. You're not a marketer who talks about developers. You're a developer who happens to be a phenomenal communicator. In your first month, you'll publish your first piece of content that reaches 100K+ developers, 5x our follower count, and launch a recurring series that developers actually subscribe to. You'll do this by being an authentic, truly useful, and calm voice in the coding agent space. By the way, you won’t be starting from scratch — we have a related newsletter and YouTube channel of 75K and 35K subscribers each. ## What You'll Do - Build in public using Superconductor, documenting workflows, wins, failures, and lessons learned - Create a consistent stream of high-quality content across X/Twitter, YouTube, blog posts, podcasts, and conference talks - Develop and evangelize the "Superconductor way" — opinionated frameworks and best practices for building with parallel coding agents - Grow and engage a developer community around autonomous software development - Collaborate with the product team to shape onboarding, documentation, and developer experience You Are - A credible developer with real engineering experience — you've shipped production software and can hold your own in technical conversations - An established voice in the developer community with 5,000+ followers on X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, or a combination - A natural storyteller who can translate complex technical concepts into compelling narratives - Genuinely excited about AI coding agents and the future of software development - Comfortable building in public, including sharing what doesn't work Bonus Points - You've had a relevant role at a quality company - Experience with AI coding tools and you existing content about it - You run or co-host a podcast, newsletter, or YouTube channel with a relevant audience ## About Superconductor ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Superconductor is building the autonomous software organization — a platform where AI agents automatically find work across customer emails, bug reports, Slack threads, and more, enabling software teams to ship continuously with minimal human intervention. - **Entity Type**: Private (seed stage, $7M total funding) - **Headquarters**: East Bay, California, United States - **Founded**: Not publicly available - **Founders**: Not publicly available (previously co-founded Gradescope) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: AI-powered software development tools and autonomous agent platforms - **Target customers**: B2B software teams (from startups to enterprises) that want to accelerate development using AI coding agents - **Mission statement**: “For your AI agents to always be building your ideas, and for you to never be blocked.” ## Products & Services - **[Superconductor Platform]**: A SaaS platform where teams create tickets from Slack, GitHub, or email, launch multiple AI coding agents (e.g. Claude Code) in cloud environments, review live previews of generated code, and collaborate via a mobile-first interface (iOS/iPad app and Android PWA). Supports multiplayer workspaces, centralized API keys, and guided review to reduce human review burden. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed - **Key Metric**: $7M in total funding (backed by undisclosed investors) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Not publicly disclosed - **Growth Signals**: Currently in private beta; team of 7 employees with a stated intention to stay below ~25; small size allows outsized impact per hire; building on a track record from prior successful startup (Gradescope) ## Competitive Advantages - **Multiplayer workspace** – PMs, designers, and developers collaborate with AI agents in real time, kicking off work from Slack and reviewing live previews without checking out branches. - **Frictionless live previews** – Cloud instances start quickly (under 30 seconds) so teams can instantly see agent output. - **Guided review** – Proprietary AI-assisted code review process that reduces the time spent reviewing PRs. - **Mobile-first design** – Fully featured iOS app and Android PWA allow teams to monitor agents and approve work on the go. - **Centralized agent management** – Workspaces provide shared API keys, integrations, and project environments for all teammates. ## Strategic Focus - **Autonomous software organization** – Building agents that proactively find work (support emails, bug reports, feature requests) and execute 24/7 without waiting for instructions. - **Quality over scale** – Intentionally staying a small team (<25) to maintain high standards and deep ownership. - **Dogfooding** – The company uses Superconductor to build Superconductor, pushing its own tools to the limit. ## Why Work Here - **Hybrid work model**: 3 days in the East Bay (BART-accessible) office, 2 days remote; night-shift coverage available for exceptional candidates outside the Bay Area. - **Compensation**: Highly competitive salary and meaningful equity for a small team that plans to stay small. - **Benefits**: Flexible PTO, parental leave, health insurance, employee-friendly equity terms, premium equipment, and a practically unlimited token budget for AI usage. - **Engineering culture**: Customer obsession, speed with stability, living in the future (using own tools), and high standards with outsized responsibility. The team consists of four developers, one designer, and two generalist operators — everyone wears multiple hats. - **Open roles**: Principal Web Developer (Rails) and Head of Developer Relations — both focused on architecting and quality-guarding code produced by AI agents. ## Sources 1.
