As AI begins to generate, test, and deploy code autonomously, legacy security approaches break down. Konvu’s AI agents reason like security engineers: automatically triaging noise, verifying exploitability with evidence, and helping teams focus on what truly matters. Our agents plug directly into existing scanners and workflows, no rip-and-replace, no new dashboards. We deliver evidence-backed decisions where teams already work, cutting false positives and surfacing exploitable issues with confidence. Founded by early members of Sqreen (YC W18, acquired by Datadog), we know what it takes to turn deep technical insight into tools developers and security teams actually use. We’ve raised $5M in Seed funding and are backed by top European and US VCs, as well as leaders from companies like Datadog, GitHub, Docker, Cloudflare, Sumo Logic, and Vanta. We're looking for a Head of Engineering to build and lead our engineering team in Paris, and set the technical foundation for everything we ship next. ## 🛠️ WHAT YOU'LL DO You'll own how we build. That means the team, the technical direction, and the delivery pace that carries us through our next stage of growth. You'll still be close to the code, but your leverage is the team you grow and the standards you set. - Lead the engineering team. Hire, coach, and grow a small team of engineers into a high-output group. Set the bar for quality, give people ownership, and create the conditions for them to do the best work of their careers. - Own delivery. Turn product strategy into a roadmap the team can ship against. Balance thoughtful design with fast iteration so we keep shipping value every week, not every quarter. - Set technical direction. Make the architecture decisions that matter, from how our AI agents run reliably inside complex enterprise environments to how we keep builds fast and systems observable as we scale. - Build the team AI-forward. Put AI at the center of how we build, not just what we build. Make our engineers faster and our practices sharper by treating AI as a core competency - Scale the team without slowing it down. You've seen what breaks when a small team grows fast. Get ahead of it: hiring, process, on-call, technical debt, and the org design that keeps velocity high as headcount climbs. - Stay close to customers. Work with our users over Slack and on calls. Turn what you learn into technical priorities and make sure the team never loses the thread between what we build and why it matters. - Shape the culture. As an early leader, your decisions define how we build for years. You'll set our engineering practices, our standards, and the kind of place this is to be an engineer. ## 👤 WHO YOU ARE Even if you don't meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply if you're driven to create real impact. - You've led engineering teams and are still hands-on. You've managed and grown engineers, and you can still design a system and review a hard PR yourself. You lead by raising the team's output, not by stepping away from the work. - You've scaled a team through its fastest growth stage. You know what it takes to ship fast with a small team, and what breaks as it grows. You've felt the trade-offs between speed, quality, and scale, and you've made the right calls under pressure. - You're AI-forward. You're genuinely excited about how AI is changing engineering, you build with it daily, and you have a point of view on where it helps and where it doesn't. - Strong engineering fundamentals. You care about code quality, architecture, testing, and operational excellence as much as you care about shipping. - Product-minded. You think about the "why" behind what the team builds and are comfortable making trade-offs between scope, quality, and speed. - You build teams people want to be on. You hire well, give clear feedback, and create ownership rather than dependence. - Excellent communication in English (our working language). - Eagerness to work onsite from our Paris office. ## NICE-TO-HAVE (NOT REQUIRED): - Experience building developer, infrastructure, or security tools - Exposure to agentic systems - You've been an early engineer or engineering leader at a startup that scaled ## 🧪 OUR HIRING PROCESS - 30-minute video call with our CEO - 1-hour technical and leadership deep dive with our CEO - Working session with the team: architecture and team-scaling scenarios - Onsite with the founding team - Reference calls ## 💎 WHY WORK AT KONVU We’re building AI agents that redefine how security and engineering teams work. We’re assembling a world-class team of builders who want to push what’s possible in security and AI. Here is what it's like to be working here - Startup principles in action: we’re shaped by YC principles https://188b3b78.konvu-website.pages.dev/blog/yc-culture, which means fast iteration, ownership from day one, and solving problems that matter. Whether you’re shipping features or closing customers, you’ll actually see your impact every week. - Globally minded from day one: Konvu was built from both sides of the Atlantic, combining European engineering excellence with American ambition. Our goal is simple: build a product loved by security and engineering teams, wherever they are. - A culture of sharing and learning: People here don’t just build or sell, they also teach and grow. From technical deep dives and sales playbook reviews to speaking at events like our Konvupéro meetups https://konvu.com/blog/konvupero-agent-framework or industry events, you’ll have space to grow and contribute beyond your core role. - Hard, meaningful problems: You’ll work on AI agents that reason about exploitability and risk and run reliably inside complex enterprise environments, and help customers turn that into real-world outcomes. It’s the kind of work that pushes your limits and makes you proud of what you’re building. - Strong upside: We offer a competitive salary, meaningful equity, and comprehensive benefits so you can grow with the company you’re helping build. ## 💜 OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY At Konvu, we deeply value diversity and are dedicated to fostering an environment where everyone feels supported and can thrive. To build a product that’s loved by everyone, we need a team with all kinds of different perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. This is why we are committed to hiring people from all walks of life. ## About Konvu ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Konvu builds AI agents that automatically triage, prove, and fix application and cloud vulnerabilities, helping security and engineering teams focus on real risks instead of noise. - **Entity Type**: Private (Seed stage) - **Headquarters**: New York City, USA (with an additional office in Paris, France; legal incorporation in Newark, Delaware) - **Founded**: Mid-2024 - **Founders**: Lucas Masson (CEO), Benoît Larroque (CTO), Paul Bleicher (CPO) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Cybersecurity – AI-powered vulnerability management - **Target customers**: B2B, primarily enterprise security teams and engineering organizations - **Mission statement**: “Make security feel invisible. Not by hiding it, but by making it intelligent, contextual, and effortless for engineers.” ## Products & Services Konvu offers a suite of AI agents, each with a defined role and success metrics, integrated directly into the customer’s existing toolchain: - **Cassandra (Vulnerability Researcher)**: Researches every CVE and encodes its applicability conditions to power the other agents. - **Argus (Application Security Engineer)**: Reads code and dependencies to confirm which SAST and SCA findings are actually exploitable; dismisses false positives with reasoning. - **Nyx (Cloud Security Engineer)**: Triages cloud security findings against actual workloads, runtime, and configuration. - **Patcheus (Remediation Engineer)**: Ships dependency upgrades and security fixes as pull requests, operators in Slack. - **Hermes (Pentester)**: Reproduces vulnerability reports end-to-end for triaging external reports or confirming fixes. - **Aegis (Mitigation Engineer)**: Writes and deploys WAF rules to block exploitable vulnerabilities in minutes, closing the exploit window. All agents provide reproducible evidence and can operate with gradual autonomy. The platform is available as a cloud service or self-hosted, with SOC 2 Type II certification and privacy-by-design guarantees (code is never stored or used for training). ## Market Standing - **Valuation**: Not publicly disclosed - **Key Metric**: Raised $5 M in Seed funding (July 2024) - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Backed by top European and US venture firms.
