For decades, the NHS has struggled with fragmented systems that make simple tasks feel impossible. At Accurx, we’re changing that by building a single, system-wide platform that helps every patient get gold-standard, efficient, and joined-up care. What started as a way for GPs to text a patient has now evolved into an all-in-one digital toolkit used by 98% of GP practices. Our platform now powers [Total Triage](https://www.accurx.com/primary-care) to manage patient demand, and [Self-Book,](https://www.accurx.com/booking) which lets patients schedule their own appointments in seconds. We’ve automated routine care with [Patient Questionnaires](https://www.accurx.com/questionnaires) for long-term conditions, while [Accumail](https://www.accurx.com/accumail) finally allows staff-to-staff communication to happen instantly across different care settings. We’re now pushing the boundaries of the consultation itself with [Accurx Scribe](https://www.accurx.com/scribe), our AI-powered note-taker that drafts medical notes in real-time. We’re not just shipping features. We’re giving clinicians their time back and ensuring every patient journey is as smooth as it should be. The challenges you’ll solve as our Interim Head of Finance Our finance function continues to evolve, and we are looking for a driven finance leader to step in for a 12-month maternity cover, to keep our momentum going and materially upgrade how finance supports our commercial teams. You will run the core finance engine to a high standard, while taking this window of opportunity to raise the bar on commercial reporting, providing real margin insight, and ensuring finance has a genuine seat at the table in commercial decision-making. - Elevating the finance function: Moving beyond just keeping the lights on to fundamentally changing what "good" looks like for us and raising the bar in our reporting capability. - Driving trading insights: Developing core trading metrics and improving the speed, quality, and usefulness of commercial reporting to give leadership clear visibility of progress and risk. - Running the core engine: Overseeing all accounting, financial operations, treasury, and compliance, while managing the annual audit, budget, and quarterly forecasts. - Commercial business partnering: Acting as the lead finance partner to the commercial team by embedding yourself in planning and influencing decisions, rather than just reporting on them after the fact. - Margin and cost optimisation: Owning key trading initiatives focused on margin improvement - Automating for the future: Working alongside our data team to automate reporting through our data infrastructure and transition away from a reliance on spreadsheets. - Team leadership: Managing and guiding an established, high-performing team of two direct reports (FP&A Manager and Finance Ops Manager), helping them increase their business impact. You should apply if... - You have proven experience operating autonomously at a Finance Director, Head of Finance, or senior FP&A level, including line management of a finance team. - Prior experience in an interim role where you've left a high-performing function even better than you found it. - You are a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). - You have a strong track record as a genuine business partner to commercial or trading functions, with specific examples of influencing decisions through financial insight. - You have experience working within a mature-stage B2B SME, ideally in a fast-growing, PE/VC-backed business scaling between £30m and £200m. - You are comfortable taking full ownership of the complete finance remit, spanning accounting, treasury, compliance, audit, and FP&A. - You have experience collaborating with data teams to build, improve, and automate commercial reporting systems. - You are a driver, not a passenger who can operate with minimal direction What’s in it for you? You’ll join a high-performing team on a mission to solve healthcare productivity, building a platform used by around 300k NHS staff every week, supporting the care of over 50 million NHS patients every year. We set a high bar, move fast, and give people the ownership and support to do the best work of their careers - Salary DOE/Competitive - Benefits to suit you: adjust your healthcare cover, your pension or life insurance, whatever stage you’re at in life - Built for collaboration: We are an office-first culture and ask that you’re in our (dog-friendly) Shoreditch office for a minimum of 3 days a week - Close to our users: Regular hackathons, plus dedicated time to visit GP practices and other healthcare settings to see first-hand how our products are used - Time off: You’ll get 28 days of holiday (plus bank holidays) and up to 4 weeks to work from anywhere per year - Support at home: We offer enhanced parental leave, fertility support and parental loss support - We have our very own chefs: Free healthy breakfasts, snacks and lunches, plus a weekly sweet treat ## About Accurx ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Accurx provides a communication platform that connects patients and healthcare professionals across the NHS, making healthcare staff happier and patients healthier. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series B) - **Headquarters**: London, United Kingdom - **Founded**: 2016 - **Founders**: Jacob Haddad and Laurence Bargery ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Healthcare Technology (HealthTech) - **Target customers**: B2B, primarily the UK's National Health Service (NHS) — including GP practices, hospital trusts, and community care providers. - **Mission**: To fix healthcare communication, making NHS professionals happier and patients healthier. ## Products & Services - **Accurx Platform (Core)**: A unified communication platform for the NHS.
