By learning from emails, meetings, and customer conversations, we’re building a living understanding of how a company works—so AI can help teams anticipate what comes next, make better decisions, and take action. More than 5,000 companies have used the product since its November launch. We’ve raised more than $70M from Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, Maverick Ventures, and Greylock to attack the biggest software category in the world. We previously built Tome, which reached more than 25 million users, and our team brings experience from Llama, Instagram, Google, and Salesforce. ## What you’ll do - Shape our narrative. Develop a clear, distinctive account of what Lightfield believes, what we’re building, and where business software is headed. Understand how Salesforce and other well-funded incumbents frame the market, find the assumptions worth challenging, and make our case with evidence. - Explain our technical vision. Help people understand our ambition to build a business world model: a representation of how a company works that lets AI reason about decisions and their consequences. Work with our engineers to explain how customer memory, structured data, and agents fit together—and why CRM is the place to start. - Report from inside the company. Interview engineers, sit in on customer conversations, use the product, and follow promising leads. Find the details and original insights that make a story worth telling. Bring us angles we haven’t thought of. - Develop and write our most important ideas. Work with the founders to turn emerging convictions about technology and business into original essays and arguments. Bring your own research, historical parallels, and customer evidence. Challenge the logic, strengthen the case, and write in a voice that feels unmistakably theirs. Bring the same rigor to technical explainers, product launches, and customer stories. - Own external communications. Build relationships with journalists, newsletter writers, and podcast hosts who matter to our audience. Develop pitches, plan announcements, and prepare founders for interviews. Exercise judgment about timing, claims, and when we have something worth saying. - Build a distinctive voice. Set the editorial standard for how Lightfield sounds. Partner with design and marketing on website copy, campaigns, and brand storytelling. Make our writing precise, interesting, and recognizably ours. - Give good stories a wider life. Build a focused publishing rhythm across our blog, social channels, and newsletter. Adapt strong ideas for different audiences and work with marketing to understand what earns attention, builds trust, and brings the right customers to Lightfield. ## Who you are - You have a reporter’s instincts. You ask the second and third questions, check the claim, and keep digging until you understand what actually happened. You can find the interesting detail in a conversation that seemed routine. - You’re an exceptional writer and editor. You can develop an original argument, connect ideas across technology and business, and explain a difficult subject clearly. You’re as comfortable challenging a premise as editing a paragraph. Your portfolio shows both range and judgment. - You think strategically about communications. You understand how a story changes someone’s view of a company. You consider the audience, the timing, the competitive context, and the proof behind the message. - You understand how stories travel. You follow the journalists, founders, independent writers, podcasters, and creators shaping technology and business. You understand what earns attention across established publications, X, YouTube, podcasts, and newsletters, and how to adapt a story to each. You can spot an opening in the news cycle and develop original ideas that give others something worth discussing. - You get up to speed on technical concepts quickly. You can take an unfamiliar idea, dig into the source material, and ask the questions that get you to a real understanding. You can explain how a system works, the tradeoffs behind it, and why it matters to someone running a business. - You create your own momentum. You find an angle, get the interviews, and take a piece through to publication. You welcome direct feedback, move quickly, and care about the final sentence. Your background might be in journalism, strategic communications, or an editorial role at a technology company. You may have reported for a publication with rigorous standards, edited your college newspaper, or become the person colleagues trust with their hardest writing. We’re interested in the instincts you developed and the work you can show us. This can be your first time owning a communications function. ## Why this role You’ll have direct access to the people building the product, substantial room to shape the company’s voice, and responsibility for work that influences how customers, recruits, and the industry understand Lightfield. There is a lot here to investigate, and a lot still to say. ## Benefits & Perks - Competitive salary - Meaningful early equity - Health insurance (medical, dental, vision) - 3 weeks of PTO - 11 paid company holidays + we enjoy a winter holiday break - 3 months of paid family leave - Wednesdays work from home - Regular team dinners, events, offsites, and retreats - 401k plan - Other perks include: commuter and lunch stipend ## About Lightfield ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Lightfield is an AI-native CRM that automatically captures every customer interaction from email, calendar, and meetings, and builds a living world model of your company’s relationships and decisions. - **Entity Type**: Private (Startup) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, United States - **Founded**: Not publicly available - **Founders**: Henri Liriani, Keith Peiris ## Core Business - Primary industry: AI-native CRM / Sales & Customer Relationship Management - Target customers: B2B sales teams, customer-facing organizations (SMB to mid-market) - Mission or purpose statement: “Help founders build better businesses” by creating software that provides deep, continuous customer understanding — a world model of your company starting with your customers.
