This role involves driving scalable product development, making hard prioritization calls, and partnering with engineering to deliver AI-first products that drive bus... ## Job description At Archive, we believe great products should live many lives. We build the technology that powers branded resale for some of the world’s most beloved companies, including Lululemon, The North Face, New Balance, Dr. Martens, Peloton, and 50+ others. Our platform makes it easy for brands to keep products in circulation and for customers to shop secondhand with confidence. The secondhand market is growing three times faster than traditional retail and is projected to reach $350B globally by 2028. We’re building the infrastructure behind that shift, helping brands turn resale into a meaningful part of their business and helping consumers rethink how they shop. If you’re excited to change consumer behavior for the better, we’d love to meet you. ## About the role… Archive is hiring a Head of Product to bring clarity, focus, and strong decision-making to what we build and how we build it. You'll own product strategy across our full retail stack and be the single owner of the hard prioritization calls, translating company strategy into a roadmap the whole company believes in. This is a high-judgment, builder's role for someone who's set product direction, owned business outcomes, and made the call on what matters without waiting for a playbook. If you get energized by reshaping a category-defining product with AI, have a real feel for what drives the business, and want to operate as a true partner to engineering to turn priorities into predictable delivery, this is for you. ## Responsibilities Product strategy and roadmap - Own product strategy and translate Archive's company strategy and growth plan into a clear, multi-quarter roadmap and prioritization across the platform - Drive scalable product development across the full Archive stack: consumer shopping, peer-to-peer marketplace, trade-in and managed-resale supply, retail point-of-sale, brand and admin tooling, warehouse + 3PL visibility, customer support, and data and analytics - Define standard vs. custom boundaries so enterprise demands don't quietly capture the roadmap Owning the trade-offs - Be the single owner of product prioritization, so strategy stays crisp and the founders are no longer making day-to-day product calls - Prioritize toward business outcomes, based on what will have the most impact on GMV, supply, demand and brand margin, not just customer satisfaction - Make hard calls with clarity and build durable decision-making mechanisms as we scale AI-first product - Actively explore how AI and agentic capabilities change what we build, and how - Question traditional product definitions, and rebuild where it creates real leverage Cross-functional execution - Partner with Engineering as a true pair to keep strategy, sequencing, and execution tight - Lead cross-functional planning with Engineering, Design, Implementation, and Internal Ops so launches land - Build a product cadence that turns customer and business needs into shipped outcomes, with clear measurement and accountability - Strengthen product communication across the company: what we're building, why it matters, and what's changing ## Team and leadership - Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing product team, and partner closely with Design - Raise the bar on product quality and autonomy, and codify how the team works ## Requirements - A strong track record as a Head of Product or equivalent who has owned product strategy and built and led a team - Sharp commercial acumen: an intuitive feel for what drives GMV, supply, and demand, and a habit of scoping and prioritizing toward business outcomes - Background in a high-growth B2B SaaS or marketplace environment - Experience building product operating systems: roadmap frameworks, prioritization models, or planning processes that improve speed and clarity - AI-native product thinking: conviction around AI, hands-on in understanding how to build it into a product ecosystem, and willing to rethink product from scratch rather than port over an old-world playbook - Strong product judgment and prioritization instincts; you can say "no / not yet" and keep trust high - Experience building configurable, enterprise-facing platforms with real technical depth and complexity - Strong cross-functional leadership; you partner deeply with Engineering, Design, Implementation, and GTM - An exceptional communicator, able to adapt the narrative for executive audiences The expected annual base salary range for this position is 250,000- 300,000 USD. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but aren't limited to) such as role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for equity, and all employees are eligible for a full benefits package including employee and dependent healthcare and 401(k) enrollment. Archive is a Series B company backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Energize Capital, and Bain Capital Ventures, and was named Fast Company's #2 Most Innovative Company in Retail in 2024. We're a small team with low egos and high agency, working on a problem that actually matters- and having a lot of fun doing it. This is a remote role open across the continental US. We have offices in New York and the SF Bay Area, with hybrid options for those nearby. We consider applicants of all backgrounds. If you are excited about what we're building but don't meet some of the criteria above, please don't let that discourage you from applying. Please note that we are unable to accept applications from candidates outside of the US at this time. ## About Archive ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Archive provides a technology platform that enables brands to launch and scale profitable, branded resale programs. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series B) - **Headquarters**: Los Altos / San Francisco Bay Area, California, United States - **Founded**: 2020 - **Founders**: Emily Gittins and Ryan Rowe ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: Software Development / Resale Technology (fashion, apparel, outdoor gear, cycling) - **Target customers**: B2B – brands (e.g., The North Face, lululemon, New Balance, Marimekko, woom) that want to operate their own resale marketplaces - **Mission or purpose statement**: “Keep products in use for as long as possible—minimizing waste and landfill accrual.” [archiveresale.com](https://www.archiveresale.com/about/mission) ## Products & Services - **Resale Marketplace (White‑label)**: A customizable, branded e‑commerce storefront for second‑hand inventory from peer‑to‑peer trading, in‑store take‑back, and vintage boutiques. - **Trade‑In**: Allows customers to return used items for credit, which brands can then resell. - **Take‑Back**: Program for customers to return products at end of life; Archive handles processing. - **In‑Store Resale**: Tools that enable physical retail locations to participate in resale. - **Logistics & Fulfillment**: End‑to‑end handling of inventory collection, grading, listing, and shipping. - **Warranty & Repair**: Services to support circularity through product maintenance. - **Archive Intelligence**: An AI layer that automates operations, improves decision‑making, and optimises pricing, inventory, and customer experience across the platform. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed (private) - **Key Metric (Annual Revenue)**: $14.5M per year (estimated) [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/company/archiveresale) - **Key Metric (Total Funding)**: $54.3M across four rounds: - Pre‑Seed (Jan 2022): $1.3M led by FirstMark, Bain Capital Ventures - Seed (Jan 2022): $8M led by Bain Capital Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners - Series A (Dec 2022): $15M led by Lightspeed Venture Partners - Series B (Feb 2025): $30M led by Energize Capital - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Lightspeed Venture Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, FirstMark, Energize Capital, Frontline Growth, G9 Ventures - **Growth Signals**: - 83 employees (+31.7% YoY) - 60+ brand partners globally - Recent launches: woom Exchange (April 2026), New Balance apparel resale expansion (Feb 2026) - Named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies (2026) ## Competitive Advantages - **First‑mover in branded resale SaaS**: Deep integration with major retail brands, not a general marketplace. - **AI‑powered operational layer (Archive Intelligence)**: Automates pricing, inventory routing, and fraud detection; improves margins for brands. - **Full‑stack platform**: Covers everything from front‑end marketplace to logistics and repair, reducing the need for multiple vendors. - **Data network effects**: Each transaction feeds the AI, making the system smarter for every brand. - **Sustainability track record**: Strong mission alignment with brand sustainability goals, creating natural partnerships. ## Strategic Focus - **Expand into new categories**: Recently moved beyond apparel into children’s bicycles (woom) and home goods. - **Deepen existing brand partnerships**: Enabling multi‑category resale (e.g., New Balance adding apparel to its footwear program). - **Scale international operations**: Already operating in 5 countries (US, Portugal, Georgia, South Africa, UK) with HQ in the US. - **Continue building AI capabilities**: Improving automation to lower operational costs for brands. ## Why Work Here - **Mission‑driven culture**: “We’re hiring for mission‑oriented, highly‑motivated individuals who are inspired to fundamentally change the way consumers shop for the better.” [archiveresale.com/careers](https://www.archiveresale.com/about/careers) - **Remote‑first with physical hubs**: Fully remote; offices available in New York City and San Francisco. - **Benefits**: Health / Dental / Vision insurance, 401(k) match, Unlimited Paid Time Off, Paid Parental Leave, custom equipment setup, bi‑annual company retreats, virtual team social events. - **Team & growth**: 83 employees (and growing fast); cross‑functional culture with technical, sales, consulting, customer success, and design roles. - **Engineering culture**: Modern tech stack (JavaScript, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Python, PostgreSQL, etc.) and emphasis on building scalable systems. ## Sources 1.
