This position is primarily responsible for keeping plant equipment safe, reliable, properly adjusted, and available for production. The Industrial Maintenance Technician will perform routine inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment adjustments, lubrication, troubleshooting, and repairs for conveyors, pumps, fans, compressors, motors, material-handling systems, and other industrial process equipment. The technician must be able to safely disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, reassemble, and return equipment to service while ensuring proper operation and reliability. Responsibilities also include documenting completed work, identifying spare-parts needs, and supporting the procurement of maintenance materials and services. Because this is a pilot facility, equipment and operating processes will continue to evolve. The technician will work closely with operations, engineering, contractors, and equipment suppliers to install, commission, modify, troubleshoot, and improve plant systems. The technician will also help develop maintenance procedures, lubrication schedules, inspection standards, equipment histories, and preventive maintenance programs. Hands-on industrial mechanical maintenance experience is strongly preferred. Electrical, instrumentation, controls, welding, fabrication, millwright, construction, and equipment installation skills are desirable. Experience in cement, lime, aggregate, crushing, material handling, mining, manufacturing, or similar industrial operations is preferred. In addition to maintenance responsibilities, the Industrial Maintenance Technician may provide operational support as needed to support the production schedule. This may include monitoring computer-controlled equipment, performing inspections, following Standard Operating Procedures, responding to changing process conditions, and coordinating with other team members to maintain safe and efficient production. The ideal candidate approaches troubleshooting methodically, works safely with limited supervision, and takes ownership of equipment condition and housekeeping. The individual must be dependable, adaptable, willing to share knowledge, receptive to constructive feedback, and committed to a positive and productive team environment. The facility may operate 24 hours per day. This position must be available to work rotating 10-hour or 12-hour shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency callouts. Work schedules may change based on production requirements and business needs. As Fortera expands and develops additional facilities, opportunities may arise for Industrial Maintenance Technicians to support equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, training, and start-up activities at future locations. These assignments may require increased travel. A willingness to relocate permanently from Redding to a future Fortera operating location is preferred but not required. A candidate's willingness and ability to travel and relocate may be considered in hiring decisions. This position reports directly to the Senior Plant Engineer. ## RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform mechanical, reliability, and equipment maintenance activities to support safe and reliable plant operations. - Perform mechanical tear-downs, inspections, repairs, rebuilds, and precision reassembly of industrial equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. - Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and systems. - Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls-related equipment issues as needed. - Support the development and implementation of preventive maintenance plans and programs. - Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and documentation. - Identify equipment issues, recommend improvements, and support reliability initiatives. - Work closely with operations, engineering, contractors, and equipment suppliers to coordinate repairs, improvements, and projects. - Support equipment installation, modifications, commissioning activities, and plant improvement projects. - Assist with identifying spare parts, tools, and maintenance resources needed to support plant operations. - Help ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures. - Remain current on maintenance technologies and practices that may improve plant reliability and performance. - Complete other duties as assigned. ## MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, processing, mining, cement, aggregate, construction, utilities, or a related industrial environment. - Demonstrated ability to disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and reassemble industrial mechanical equipment. - Experience repairing and rebuilding pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, motors, compressors, bearings, or similar industrial equipment is preferred. - Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience maintaining industrial equipment. - Experience with preventive maintenance programs, equipment inspections, and maintenance documentation. - Electrical, instrumentation, automation, controls, welding, fabrication, or millwright experience is a plus. - Experience in heavy industrial, materials, construction, mining, or cement-related industries is preferred. - Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel and Word). - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions. - Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to follow company policies, OSHA/CalEPA regulations, and environmental requirements. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment and assist co-workers and supervisors as needed. - Must be willing to work rotating Day, Swing, and Graveyard shifts. - Ability to use respiratory protection equipment is required. - Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds throughout the workday. - Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response) physical examination. ## COMPENSATION: The hourly range for this job is $30.00 - $35.00.
