Tolan is building personal AI that helps people think, reflect, and take action in their real lives. We're an experienced team that previously founded Even, acquired for $300M in 2022. Tolan is backed by the designers and founders behind Instagram, Retro, Behance, Vimeo, and Notion.

## The Role

We're hiring an iOS Product Engineer to build the Tolan iOS app. You'll work closely with the design team to own a substantial part of the product, from prototyping through to production.

## What You'll Do

- Own a substantial part of the Tolan iOS app end-to-end, from prototyping through to production.
- Partner closely with a designer to shape and ship features that define the Tolan experience.
- Build and maintain complex audio/video systems that are core to the product.
- Talk with users and review metrics after shipping to evaluate impact and inform next steps.
- Iterate rapidly, treating nothing as real until it's in users' hands.

Who We're Looking For

- iOS-first engineer. You primarily work as an iOS engineer, even if you've spent time on other platforms or up and down the stack.
- Audio/video experience. You've built products with complex audio/video stacks.
- Small team operator. You do your best work on a small team or solo.
- Pattern breaker. You know when to follow patterns and when to break them to make something entirely new.
- Prototype-to-production mindset. You build by prototyping, iterating, and shipping — it's not real until it's in users' hands.
- AI-native. You've deeply integrated AI into how you work.
- Bias to ship. You love to ship quickly and make contact with reality as often as possible.

Compensation: $200,000-300,000 base salary + equity + benefits
