## Job description

BlockTech is hiring a Junior Quantitative Trader to join its options trading team in Amsterdam. In this role, you'll help run and improve the systems that trade our capital. We trade crypto derivatives and spot markets across global venues, 24/7. Our traders don't just watch the systems. They own them end-to-end.

## About BlockTech

BlockTech is an algorithmic trading firm headquartered in Amsterdam, with a second office in Singapore. We specialize in market making and trade cryptocurrency derivatives and spot markets globally, using our own capital. We're growing fast and expanding into new markets. Our traders work side by side with quantitative researchers and engineers. Research, engineering, and trading happen a few meters apart, so the path from a market read to live PnL is short.

What will you do? You'll be responsible for our day-to-day trading operations, from running the automated systems to managing positions to shaping the strategies that come next. You will:

- Run the systems. Monitor and operate our automated trading systems and dashboards in live markets.
- Tune the pricing. Adjust pricing and parameters as market behavior shifts.
- Own the risk. Manage positions and the risk that comes with them.
- Build new strategies. Develop and deploy new strategies together with quantitative researchers and engineers.
- Spot what’s next. Research new business opportunities and stay on top of market news and changes.

## What we're looking for

You'll need:

- A strong academic background in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, statistics, or computer science.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Focus and composure behind the screen when markets get busy.
- A strong sense of ownership and excellent collaboration skills.

- Professional trading experience at a high-frequency trading firm
