## About the role

We're hiring a Lead Communication Designer for the product marketing design pod in Razorpay's in-house creative studio. The pod designs product marketing content, GTMs, feature launches, and advertising campaigns for every Razorpay product across countries, and takes part in Razorpay brand and ad campaigns.

You'll lead a high-talent team of motion designers, art directors, editors, and AI builders — winner of Creative and Design Team at the ET Brand Disruption Awards 2026, with recent wins at Kyoorius, Effie, and the Shorty Awards — and take its work up a notch. You're an art director first, a brand builder through campaigns, and someone who builds with AI, not just uses it.

## What you'll own

Art direction and brand Set creative direction for product marketing content, GTMs, feature launches, and advertising campaigns across countries — shoots, storyboards, motion, edit, type, and colour. Own pod-level charters end to end across products like Payment Gateway, Cross Border, POS, Engage, Cards, and RazorpayX. Take part in Razorpay brand and ad campaigns, and lead flagship moments like FTX and IPL. Shape briefs with PMMs: challenge weak positioning, sharpen the narrative, and pitch campaigns before anyone asks. Turn campaign wins into brand systems — visual languages, imagery styles, motion kits — every product can use. AI at scale Push Midjourney, Nano Banana, Runway, Higgsfield, and Seedance past generic output to brand-quality videos, campaigns, and product identities. Build web experiences, tools, and automations with Claude and Gemini through APIs or MCPs, including pipelines for variants, localisation, and resizes. Decide which tools the studio adopts, document the workflows, and train the team.

## Team leadership

Lead junior designers day to day: run sprint sheets, weekly workload planning, and reviews. Coach them in art direction and AI; delegate BAU and build SOPs so quality scales through the team. Raise scope, timeline, and quality risks with stakeholders early and directly. Keep the studio fun and social — jams, show-and-tells, celebrating good work loudly — and help hire. What great looks like in year one 01 Core design leadership for two major events. 02 One or two national or global awards for the studio. 03 Strong design direction across campaigns. 04 Multiple mini AI automation projects shipped through the year.

Background we're looking for Education A design degree from NID or a similar design school. Agency and in-house ATL or brand agency experience, plus time in an in-house brand marketing team. Collaboration Has worked closely with PMMs, marketing managers, brand managers, and social media teams, and led junior designers, animators, and editors. Craft Art direction across Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, with basic motion and editing skills — and above all, strong taste.

## Who you are

6–8 years in communication design, art direction, or brand design, ideally across in-house brand teams and creative or advertising agencies. A portfolio with strong art direction: campaigns and films where you shaped the look, the story, and the tone. Proven record of building or evolving a brand through campaign work, with results you can point to (reach, awards, adoption, business impact). Strong across graphics, motion, video, and landing pages. Ships production work with Midjourney, Nano Banana, Runway, Higgsfield, and Seedance, and has built automations with Claude or Gemini through APIs or MCPs. Has led a team of 3–5 designers, animators, or video editors day to day — sprint sheets, weekly workload, reviews — and can show how they grew under you. Confident with senior stakeholders: you can push back on a weak brief, pitch an idea to leadership, and win the room. Warm, social, and fun to work with — people want to be on your team.
