As a Lead, Robotics Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to lead the development and deployment of NeuraGrasp™, our advanced robotic grasping technology that is shaping the future of warehouse automation. You will combine hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, working alongside world-class robotics, AI, perception, and hardware teams to transform cutting-edge innovation into production-ready robotic systems operating at scale. This role is based onsite at our North Vancouver, BC office and requires in-office presence five days per week (Monday–Friday). ## Responsibilities - Define and drive the software roadmap required to successfully productize NeuraGrasp™ technology. - Translate product objectives into clear technical plans, milestones, and execution strategies. - Identify technical integration risks early and coordinate solutions across robotics, perception, hardware, and product teams. - Establish software architecture, engineering standards, and best practices to support scalable product development. - Lead, coach, and develop a team of employees, providing direction, performance management, career development, and mentorship to drive individual and team success. - Provide technical leadership throughout deployment, testing, validation, performance monitoring, and field activities. - Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and foster technical excellence through collaboration, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Lead the integration of NeuraGrasp technology into robotic products, prototypes, and testing environments, ensuring reliable interaction between software, hardware, and perception systems. - Define, track, and develop tooling to measure key performance indicators (KPIs), system performance, reliability, and failure modes across robotic systems. - Support field deployments and drive continuous product and hardware improvements through data-driven analysis. - Improve operational data collection, processing, quality, monitoring, and supporting infrastructure for ongoing product development and optimization. - Develop robotic applications, software tools, internal platforms, automation frameworks, and testing systems that accelerate experimentation, debugging, validation, and operational analysis. - Design, develop, test, and maintain production-quality software using Python and/or C++. - Work closely with robotic hardware to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve integration challenges. ## Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in software engineering, robotics, automation, or a related technical field. - Strong software development experience in Python and/or C++, including robotics, automation platforms, distributed systems, or real-time applications. - Leadership experience overseeing teams and driving employee performance, growth, and career development. - Experience working with ROS/ROS2 and robotic software systems. - Proven experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives and translating ambiguous requirements into actionable technical plans and measurable outcomes. - Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and engage diverse audiences effectively. - Experience with robotic manipulation, grasping technologies, industrial automation, and/or robotic deployments in production or customer-facing environments. - Experience developing experimentation frameworks, operational metrics, performance evaluation systems, and data-driven decision-making processes. - Familiarity with cloud platforms, databases, data pipelines, and analytics infrastructure. - Experience working in fast-paced startups or growth-stage technology companies. - Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively The expected base salary range for this role is CAD $130K – $190K annually, based on external market data, plus bonus and equity.
