The GoFundMe team is is searching for our next Engineering Manager to join our Payments organization, helping us build and scale next-generation payments infrastructure capable of handling billions of dollars in transactions. This is a hybrid position. Candidates considered for this role will be located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Job - Help define and execute GoFundMe's multi-year payments engineering strategy, building scalable and innovative payment capabilities that grow giving and advance our mission. - Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for building and evolving reliable, secure, and scalable payments products and infrastructure. - Partner closely with Product Management, Design, Risk, Finance, Compliance, Operations, and external partners to identify opportunities and deliver solutions that improve the payment experience for our customers. - Provide technical and architectural leadership, helping the team make sound decisions that balance scalability, reliability, maintainability, customer experience, and speed of delivery. - Lead complex engineering initiatives from conception through launch and iteration, establishing clear goals, managing dependencies and risks, and keeping distributed, cross-timezone teams and stakeholders aligned. - Build a high-performing engineering team through hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development. - Create an environment of strong ownership and technical excellence, empowering engineers to make decisions, solve ambiguous problems, and continuously improve our systems and engineering practices. - Establish and maintain high standards for reliability, observability, security, testing, operational readiness, and incident response across payments systems, including participating in escalation for critical incidents. - Collaborate across engineering teams to evolve shared platforms and technical foundations, ensuring payments capabilities can support new products, markets, and customer experiences over time. - Communicate technical strategy, priorities, progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
