You’ll work with a team that values precision, urgency, and long-term thinking. If you want to shape how startups are funded and built, this is the place. ## About AngelList We exist to accelerate innovation by increasing the number of successful startups in the world. We do this by building the financial infrastructure that makes it easier for more people to invest in world-changing companies. AngelList is the nexus of venture capital and the startup community. We support $171B+ in assets and have powered investments into over 13,000 startups—over 300 of which are unicorns. Today, 57% of top-tier U.S. VC deals involve investors on AngelList. While our scale is large, our ambition is larger. If you're excited to build the future of private markets, come build with us. About the Role: AngelList supports more than $200B in assets across 30,000+ funds and syndicates, with over $80B moved through our banking infrastructure. Our network includes 2,300+ GPs and 72,000+ LPs, and more than a decade of private-market transaction data sits underneath the platform. The opportunity now is to turn that scale, knowledge, and customer trust into a stronger market position and a durable source of growth. We are looking for a senior, hands-on marketing leader to build the positioning, launch rhythm, campaigns, and distribution behind AngelList’s businesses. You’ll start with Funds. AngelList supports everything from a founder’s first SPV to $500M institutional funds, but many of the firms we want to serve next formed their view of us years ago, when AngelList was best known as where emerging managers got started. Your first challenge is to change that perception without losing what made the brand valuable. Nova, the banking network underpinning private markets, comes next. You’ll work directly with Product on what we are building and why it matters, with Sales on why important deals are won and lost, and with the GMs and operators who know our customers best. Your job is to turn what AngelList knows into positioning, proof, and programs that change how the market sees us—and ultimately change customer behavior, pipeline, and revenue. This is a player-coach role. You’ll manage a growth marketer, lead contractors across SEO, production, and creative, and build the team as your work earns further investment. This is a role for a doer: you’ll write the positioning, build the campaigns, talk to customers, and lead important launches yourself. For the right marketer, it is a rare amount of leverage. ## What You’ll Own - Shape the story. Develop positioning and messaging for AngelList and its businesses. Make sophisticated financial products easy to understand and hard to dismiss. - Lead important launches. Own the narrative, enablement, content, distribution, and measurement around the product and company moments that matter. - Turn proof into persuasion. Bring customer outcomes, institutional logos, migration results, product advantages, and market data into the buying process. - Publish what AngelList knows. Turn proprietary data and in-house expertise into useful, opinionated work that GPs and LPs share with one another. - Build durable distribution. Develop and test programs across content, customer networks, events, search, partnerships, and channels we have not tried yet. - Partner deeply with Sales. Understand why we win, why we lose, and where the story breaks. Build marketing and enablement that improve those outcomes. - Establish a consistent shipping rhythm. Put meaningful work into the market every week, learn from the response, and reinvest behind what works. - Build the function. Manage internal and external contributors, set a high standard for the work, and add capabilities as the opportunity becomes clear. ## What We’re Looking For - You are an exceptional product marketer and writer. You can get deep into a complicated business, find the thing that matters, and explain it plainly. - You have substantial experience in product, growth, or integrated B2B marketing, including positioning, launches, and campaigns you led end to end. - You have managed marketers or external partners while continuing to produce important work yourself. - You have marketed to sophisticated B2B buyers—such as funds, finance teams, or CFOs—where buying decisions are considered and the target market is specific enough to name. - You care equally about story and distribution. You know that a strong narrative is only valuable if the right people encounter it. - You have strong commercial instincts. You care whether the work changes customer behavior, creates qualified opportunities, and contributes to revenue, assets, or transaction volume. - You create direction in ambiguous situations and become credible quickly by talking to customers, salespeople, product leaders, and operators. - You use data with discipline without pretending attribution is more precise than it is. - You have high standards, move quickly, and prefer doing excellent work to managing a large machine. Working Here If you don’t meet every requirement above, we still encourage you to apply. We value complementary strengths and operators who learn by doing. AngelList has offices in a few cities, New York City and San Francisco. We have a hybrid in-office model: teammates come in at least 2 days per week (Tuesdays and either Wednesday or Thursday). Compensation:The compensation for this role consists of a competitive base salary, benefits, and equity package. The base salary for this role is $210,000+ annually but actual will vary based on a number of factors including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Full details about our Total Rewards package will be provided during the recruitment process. Benefits:We support your life both in and outside of work. The company's stated goal is to solve the "ownership gap" for private companies — building the equivalent of public-market infrastructure (exchanges, custodians, transfer agents, brokers, retail distribution) for private markets, which now represent more than $28T in U.S. fund AUM. ## Products & Services - **AngelList Funds**: The administration layer for venture capital — enables fund managers to launch and operate venture funds, SPVs, and syndicates on the platform. - **USVC**: The brand behind retail access to venture investing, allowing non-institutional investors to participate in private-market deals. - **Meridian**: The wealth layer for private markets; a platform for managing private-market assets and portfolio operations. - **Nova** (coming soon): The banking and payments layer for private markets, announced as the next major product release. - **Scout Funds & SPVs**: Additional investment vehicles supported on the platform alongside venture funds. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed (private company) - **Key Metric**: Total funding of $124.1M (8 prior rounds). Platform scale figures are conflicting across sources: LinkedIn reports **$171B in assets on platform, 25K+ funds and syndicates, and 72K active investors**, while Built In reports **$15B in assets for fund managers, 17K+ startup investments (including 287 unicorns), and 1.3K startups using founder services** — both cited below as conflicting reports. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Not publicly available in the provided data sources. - **Growth Signals**: Acquired Nova (banking/payments layer) in July 2023; acquired Prospectify (2019) and Product Hunt (2016, for $20M); has delivered $10B in capital to startups with a stated ambition to reach $10T; active hiring across Engineering, Data, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Customer Success teams. ## Competitive Advantages - **Network effects / de facto standard**: Positions itself as the default platform for startup investing, with 25K+ funds and syndicates and 72K active investors on platform (per LinkedIn data). - **Full-stack private-market infrastructure**: Unlike point solutions, AngelList spans fund administration (Funds), retail access (USVC), wealth management (Meridian), and soon banking/payments (Nova) — a vertically integrated stack for private markets. - **Data moat**: Years of transaction, fund, and investor data create switching costs for fund managers and investors alike. - **Founder-friendly brand equity**: Long-standing reputation in the startup ecosystem, including backing 287 unicorns (per Built In). ## Strategic Focus - **Launching Nova**: The banking and payments layer for private markets is positioned as the next major growth vector, completing the company's "financial system for private markets" vision. - **Scaling Meridian**: Building out the wealth layer to serve private-market asset management at scale. - **Expanding retail access**: Growing USVC to bring venture investing to a broader audience beyond accredited investors. - **Growing platform AUM**: Pushing from $10B in capital delivered toward the stated $10T ambition. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: The company emphasizes high agency and ownership — described as "no ladders, only roads," where employees are expected to pave their own career paths and take on more than peers in the industry, faster, with less. - **Work mode**: Hybrid roles available in San Francisco, CA and New York City, NY (e.g., Senior Platform Engineer, Investor Services Specialist, Investment Operations Associate). - **Funder & founders program**: Employees can invest up to $100K from an AngelList fund into deals they source and earn 20% of the profits from those investments. - **Financial wellbeing**: Competitive salary, 401K, equity, FSA, and access to a finance coach. - **Healthcare**: Premium medical, dental, vision coverage, One Medical, wellness coach, FSA, Carrot fertility benefits, and generous parental leave. - **Lifestyle perks**: Unlimited PTO, unlimited book stipend, wellness reimbursement, and a remote office budget (co-working/home office). - **Office perks**: In-office meals, coffee walks, team offsites, commuter benefits, and safe rides home. - **Team size (conflicting reports)**: The careers page cites a team of 140; LinkedIn reports 321 employees (-0.7% YoY); Built In reports 518 total employees across 3 offices. ## Sources 1.
