The way software gets developed and delivered is changing rapidly, and OpsLevel provides the context and guardrails that your human & agent developers both need to navigate their world. Entire engineering teams at great companies like Okta, Keller Williams, Nerdwallet, and Zapier run on OpsLevel. We're a fully-remote team of team members across North America. OpsLevelers live our company values on a daily basis and when we’re not heads-down on a project or collaborating in real-time over Zoom, we're competing in trivia over lunch or sharing the latest fur baby photo in #pets-to-make-you-live-longer. Our culture and values are very important and ground us in how we interact as one team: Growth Mindset - Get comfortable with being uncomfortable Focus & Efficiency - Keep the main thing the main thing, and get it done Empathy - Think of others; think of your users Intellectual Honesty - The best solution is more important than anyone's ego Simplicity - Don't overthink it ## About the Role We're looking for an ambitious marketer with start up experience — someone who’s seen the pieces of a marketing function up close and is ready to run one solo. This is a real growth opportunity. The person in this seat will start by owning content, campaigns, and demand gen day-to-day — but as they prove they can run the function, there's a clear path to taking on full ownership of marketing at OpsLevel and partnering directly with the executive team on strategy. We're looking for someone who is both creative and analytical: someone with a sharp sense in brand and design, who's just as comfortable in the numbers — understanding the funnel, what's converting, and why. ## What You’ll Do Product Marketing - Own our messaging: what OpsLevel does, who it's for, and why we win against the alternatives. Keep it consistent from the homepage through to the sales pitch. - Take each release to market. Launch plan, release notes, customer comms, and work with Product on the content around it. - Own competitive positioning and the material sales needs to use it: comparisons, objection handling, and pitch content. - Work closely with Sales and Customer Success to understand what they're seeing in the market, and turn that into sharper positioning, content, and product feedback. Demand Gen - Plan and run multi-channel campaigns across paid ads, email, social, webinars, and events. - Own the funnel. Know how prospects move from first touch to conversion, where they drop off, and what to fix. - Own our marketing stack and how leads flow through it: HubSpot/Salesforce, attribution, lead routing and list hygiene, and the MQL definition and handoff to sales. - Run experiments using our experimentation framework. Make a hypothesis, set goals, run the test, read the result, change course based on what it says. Iterate weekly. - Work with sales and leadership on demand gen strategy, and report on performance in terms the rest of the company can act on. Brand & Content - Own OpsLevel's brand voice and keep it consistent across the website, social, and content. - Run our social presence and content calendar. Plan it, write it, publish it. - Build out content that supports the buyer's journey: blog posts, case studies, one-pagers, and campaign copy. - Own how we show up in search: traditional SEO plus visibility in AI answers (AEO). Write and structure content that ranks, and that gets cited when a buyer asks ChatGPT or Claude about our category. - Keep the website and landing pages current with our messaging and built to convert. ## What We’re Looking For We're less focused on years of experience and more on drive and proficiency. What matters is whether someone can operate independently, think like a brand owner, read a funnel, and partner with the people around them — not how long they've been doing it. To be clear: we’re not looking for a unicorn that is already strong in every area, we’re looking for the ability to get up to speed on what's missing, not arrive with it already mastered. - Experience marketing to an engineering audience — one that doesn’t like being marketed to. - Breadth across the marketing function. You've done real work in product marketing, demand gen, and brand & content, with deep ownership in at least one. We don't expect equal depth across all three. - Strong analytical thinking: able to review results and adjust based on data, not instinct alone. - Some experience working at a startup or scale-up — comfortable with the pace and scrappiness that comes with it. - AI native: actively uses AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, design/image-generation tools) day-to-day, and constantly researching and testing new approaches week over week. - Proven ability to work independently, take ownership, and self-direct: comfortable taking loose direction and building the plan, not just executing someone else's. - Design taste — has a feel for what looks good and sounds compelling. Nice-to-have - Hands-on experience running paid ads on Google, LinkedIn, or Reddit — comfort with experimentation and testing frameworks matters more than which platforms you've already used. - Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, and our marketing SaaS suite - Experience supporting marketing for in-person events or conferences. - Podcast, video, or other multimedia content experience. This posting is for an existing vacancy. ## Compensation We offer market-leading compensation, including equity, based on the skill set and aptitude of the candidate. "Should I apply?" - Yes! If you meet some or most of what we're looking for, we want to hear from you, and if you’re unsure - apply anyways! What do I need to interview with OpsLevel? Not much! A working web camera, microphone, and (ideally) a quiet place with minimal background noise. Additional Information We are building an inclusive and welcoming workplace where employees feel appreciated, valued and free to be who they are regardless of their gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, citizenship, or any other aspect which makes them unique. OpsLevel is an equal opportunity employer and we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and barrier-free work environment for all employees and candidates. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply and if accommodation is required during any stage of the recruitment process, please contact any member of the Management team. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for interviews will be contacted. We use automated tools, including AI, to support the review of applications. ## About OpsLevel ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: OpsLevel provides an internal developer portal that unifies engineering tools and teams via a software catalog, scorecards, and self-service actions to help developers ship high-quality code faster. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series A) - **Headquarters**: Toronto, Ontario, Canada - **Founded**: 2018 - **Founders**: John Laban (CEO) and Kenneth Rose (CTO) ## Core Business - Primary industry/industries: Internal Developer Platforms, DevOps, Platform Engineering, IT Services - Target customers: B2B, mid-market to large enterprises with complex engineering teams (targets Engineering Leaders, Platform Engineers, SREs, and Software Developers) - Mission or purpose statement: To help engineering teams strike a balance between moving fast and driving service maturity and standardization, making it easy for development teams to be more efficient while staying on the "golden path." ## Products & Services - **Software Catalog**: Automatically detects, discovers, and enriches data from sources like GitHub, Datadog, and AWS to build a comprehensive catalog of services, APIs, ML models, and other components.
